Samuel 18 Michal, Saul's daughter, loves David and marries him

Samuel 18

Michal, Saul's daughter, loves David and marries him

But Michal, Saul's other daughter, loved David: which, being announced to Saul, seemed good to her.

And Saul said, I will give it to him, that he may be a snare, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. So Saul said to David, You will be my son-in-law today.

And Saul commanded his servants: Speak in secret to David, saying, Behold, the king is very affectionate, and all his servants love you; now, therefore, you consent to be the king's son-in-law.

And Saul's servants spoke all these words in David's ears. Then David said, “Does it seem little to you to be the son-in-law of the king, since I am a poor and despicable man?

And Saul's servants announced this to him, saying, These were the words that David spoke.

Then Saul said, Thus you will say to David, The king has no need for a dowry, but a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to take vengeance on the king's enemies. Because Saul was trying to make David fall at the hand of the Philistines.

And his servants announced these words to David, and this business seemed right in David's eyes, that he should be the son-in-law of the king: but the days were not yet fulfilled.

Then David got up and left with his men, and they struck two hundred men out of the Philistines, and David brought his foreskins, and gave them all to the king to be the king's son-in-law: so Saul gave him his daughter as wife. .

And he saw Saul and noticed that the Lord was with David: and Michal, Saul's daughter, loved him.

So Saul feared David much more: and Saul was David's enemy all his days.

And as the princes of the Philistines went out, it came to pass, that David went out more prudently than all the servants of Saul: because his name was highly esteemed.
