Exodus 24
God commands Moses and the elders up to Mount
And he said unto Moses, Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and incline you from afar.
And Moses alone shall come near the Lord; but they do not come, neither shall the people go up with him.
Come for Moses, and telling the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments, the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord has spoken we will do.
And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel;
And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed to the Lord peace offerings of oxen.
And Moses took half the blood, and put it in basins; and the other half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
And he took the covenant of the book, and read it in the ears of the people, and they said, All that the Lord hath spoken we do, and be obedient.
Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood covenant which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.
And they went up Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,
And they saw the God of Israel, and under his feet was like a sapphire stone work, and the opinion of heaven in his clearness.
But he did not lay his hand on the nobles of the children of Israel; they saw God, and ate and drank.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there, and give thee tables of stone, and the law, and commandments which I have written to teach them.
And Moses rose up with Joshua your server; and Moses went up the mountain of God.
And he said to the elders, Wait here for us, until we come to you: and behold, Aaron and Hur are with you; who have any business, you can go to them.
And Moses went up the mountain, the cloud covered the mountain.
And dwelt in the glory of the Lord on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called to Moses from the cloud.
And the sight of the Lord's glory was like a devouring fire on the top of the mount, in the eyes of the children of Israel.
And Moses entered the midst of the cloud, went up into the mountain, and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
