Psalms 57
David finds help from his enemies and praises God
Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for my soul trusts in you; and in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, until the disasters have passed by.
I will cry to God Most High, to God who does all things for me.
He will send his help from heaven; he will save me from the contempt of him who would devour me. God will send forth his mercy and his truth.
My soul is among lions, and I am among those who are set on fire, the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and whose tongue is a sharp sword.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be above all the earth.
They spread a net for my feet; my soul is humbled; they dug a pit before me, but they themselves have fallen into it.
They have spread a net for my feet; my soul is humbled; they have dug a pit before me, but they have fallen into it. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and make melody.
Awake, my glory; awake! Lute and harp: I myself will awake at the break of dawn.
I will praise you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing to you among the nations.
For your mercy is great to the heavens, and your truth to the clouds.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be above all the earth.
