The Boldness of Persecutors, and the Refuge of God

1 Why do you stand far away, O Lord? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

2 The wicked in their arrogance pursue the poor; let them be caught in the snares they have devised.

3 For the wicked boasts of his soul's desire; he blesses the greedy, but blasphemes the Lord.

4 Because of his pride, the wicked does not seek; all his thoughts are, "There is no God."

5 His ways are always tormenting; your judgments are far from him, on a great height; he despises his adversaries.

6 He says in his heart, "I will not be moved, for I will never be in trouble."

7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and craftiness; Under his tongue is mischief and evil.

 8 He stands in the thickets of the villages; in secret places he kills the innocent; his eyes are hidden on the poor. 

9 He lies in wait in secret places, like a lion in his den; he lies in wait to rob the poor; he takes them captive in his net. 

10 He crouches and stoops, so that the poor may fall into his strong grasp.

 11 He says in his heart, "God has forgotten; he has covered his face, and he will never see."

 12 Arise, O Lord; lift up your hand, O God; do not forget the needy. 

13 Why does the wicked blaspheme God, saying in his heart, "You will not inquire?" 

14 You have seen it, because you look on toil and trouble, to take them under your hand; the poor commit themselves to you; You are the help of the fatherless.

15 Break the arm of the wicked and the evildoer; search out his wickedness until you find none.

16 The Lord is King forever; the nations will be cut off from his land.

17 O Lord, you have heard the desire of the meek; you will strengthen their hearts; your ears will be open to them;

18 To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man who is of the earth will no longer use violence.

1 Por que te conservas longe, Senhor? Por que te escondes nos tempos de angústia?

2 Os ímpios, na sua arrogância, perseguem furiosamente o pobre: sejam apanhados nas ciladas que maquinaram.

3 Porque o ímpio gloria-se do desejo da sua alma; bendiz o avarento, e blasfema do Senhor.

4 Por causa do seu orgulho, o ímpio não investiga; todas as suas cogitações são: Não há Deus.

5 Os seus caminhos são sempre atormentadores: os teus juízos estão longe dele, em grande altura; trata com desprezo os seus adversários.

6 Diz em seu coração: Não serei abalado, porque nunca me verei na adversidade.

7 A sua boca está cheia de imprecações, de enganos e de astúcia; debaixo da sua língua há malícia e maldade.

8 Põe-se nos cerrados das aldeias; nos lugares ocultos mata o inocente; os seus olhos estão ocultamente fixos sobre o pobre.

9 Arma ciladas em esconderijos, como o leão no seu covil; arma ciladas para roubar o pobre; rouba-o colhendo-o na sua rede.

10 Encolhe-se, abaixa-se, para que os pobres caiam em suas fortes garras.

11 Diz em seu coração: Deus esqueceu-se; cobriu o seu rosto, e nunca verá isto.

12 Levanta-te, Senhor: Oh! Deus, levanta a tua mão; não te esqueças dos necessitados.

13 Por que blasfema de Deus o ímpio, dizendo no seu coração que tu não inquirirás?

14 Tu o viste, porque atentas para o trabalho e enfado, para os tomares sob tuas mãos; a ti o pobre se encomenda; tu és o auxílio do órfão.

15 Quebranta o braço do ímpio e malvado; busca a sua impiedade, até nada mais achares dela.

16 O Senhor é Rei eterno; da sua terra serão desarraigados os gentios.

17 Senhor, tu ouviste os desejos dos mansos; confortarás os seus corações; os teus ouvidos estarão abertos para eles;

18 Para fazeres justiça ao órfão e ao oprimido, a fim de que o homem, que é da terra, não prossiga mais em usar da violência.

8 वह आप ही धर्म से जगत का न्याय करेगा; वह देश देश के लोगों का न्याय धर्म से करेगा।

9 यहोवा पिसे हुओं के लिये शरणस्थान ठहरेगा; संकट के समय में एक उच्च शरणस्थान।

10 और जो तेरे नाम को जानते हैं, वे तुझ पर भरोसा रखेंगे; क्योंकि हे यहोवा, तूने अपने खोजनेवालों को कभी नहीं त्यागा।

11 हे यहोवा, जो सिय्योन में वास करता है, उसका भजन गाओ; देश देश के लोगों में उसके कामों का प्रचार करो।

19 हे यहोवा, उठ! मनुष्य को प्रबल न होने दो; राष्ट्रों का न्याय तुम्हारे सामने किया जाए।

20 हे यहोवा, हम को भयभीत कर, कि जातियां जान लें कि वे मनुष्य ही हैं।

Thanksgiving for a Great Deliverance

1I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful works.

2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.

3 For my enemies are turned back and fallen; they perish before you.

4 For you have upheld my right and my cause; you sit in judgment, judging righteously.

5 You have rebuked the nations; you have destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name forever and ever.

6 O enemy, the desolations are complete; you have laid waste the cities, and their memory has perished with them.

7 But the Lord sits enthroned forever; he has prepared his judgment seat for judgment.

8 He himself will judge the world with righteousness; he will judge the peoples with equity.

9 The Lord will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

10 Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, O Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion; declare his deeds among the peoples.

12 For he inquires about bloodshed, and remembers it; he does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

13 Have mercy on me, O Lord, and see how those who hate me bring me to grief, you who lift me up from the gates of death.

14 That I may declare all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion, and rejoice in your salvation.

15 The nations have fallen into the pit they dug; their foot is caught in the net they hid.

16 The Lord is known by the judgment he executes; the wicked is snared by his own doings. 17 The wicked will be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

18 For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor will the expectation of the poor perish forever.

19 Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before you.

20 Put us in fear, O Lord, that the nations may know that they are but men.

3 Porquanto os meus inimigos retrocederam e caíram; e pereceram diante da tua face.

4 Pois tu tens sustentado o meu direito e a minha causa; tu te assentaste no tribunal, julgando justamente.

5 Repreendeste as nações, destruíste os ímpios, apagaste o seu nome para sempre eternamente.

6 Oh! Inimigo! Consumaram-se as assolações; tu arrasaste as cidades, e a sua memória pereceu com elas.

7 Mas o Senhor está assentado perpetuamente; já preparou o seu tribunal para julgar.

8 Ele mesmo julgará o mundo com justiça; julgará os povos com retidão.

9 O Senhor será também um alto refúgio para o oprimido; um alto refúgio em tempos de angústia.

10 E em ti confiarão os que conhecem teu nome; porque tu, Senhor, nunca desamparaste os que te buscam.

11 Cantai louvores ao Senhor, que habita em Sião; anunciai entre os povos os seus feitos.

12 Pois inquire do derramamento de sangue, e lembra-se dele; não se esquece do clamor dos aflitos.

13 Tem misericórdia de mim, Senhor, vê como me fazem sofrer aqueles que me aborrecem, tu que me levantas das portas da morte;

14 Para que eu conte todos os teus louvores às portas da filha de Sião, e me alegre na tua salvação.

15 As gentes precipitaram-se na cova que abriram; na rede que ocultaram ficou preso o seu pé.

16 O Senhor é conhecido pelo juízo que fez; enlaçado ficou o ímpio nos seus próprios feitos.

17 Os ímpios serão lançados no inferno e todas as gentes que se esquecem de Deus.

18 Porque o necessitado não será esquecido para sempre, nem a expectação dos pobres se malogrará perpetuamente.

19 Levanta-te, Senhor; não prevaleça o homem; sejam julgadas as gentes perante a tua face.

20 Põe-nos em medo, Senhor, para que saibam as nações que são constituídas por meros homens.

2 तूने अपने द्रोहियों के कारण बालकों और दूध पीते बच्चों के मुख से सामर्थ्य उत्पन्न की है, कि शत्रु और पलटा लेनेवाले को चुप करा दे।

3 जब मैं आकाश को, जो तेरे हाथों का कार्य है, और चंद्रमा और तारागण को, जो तू ने नियुक्त किए हैं, देखता हूं;

God is glorified in his works and in his goodness to man

1 O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth, who has set your glory above the heavens!

2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings you have ordained strength because of your adversaries, to silence the enemy and the avenger.

3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;

4 What is man that you are mindful of him? or the son of man that you care for him?

5 Yet you have made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor.

6 You have made him ruler over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet:

7 All sheep and oxen, and the beasts of the field.

 8 The birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

9 O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

6 Fazes com que ele tenha domínio sobre as obras das tuas mãos; tudo puseste debaixo de seus pés:

14देखो, वह दुष्टता से पीड़ित है; कल्पित कार्य, और झूठ उत्पन्न करेंगे।

15 उसने एक कुआँ खोदा और उसे गहरा किया, और खुद उस गड्ढे में गिर गया।

16 उसका काम उसके ही सिर पर लौट आएगा; और उसकी हिंसा उसके मस्तिष्क पर उतर आएगी।

David Trusts in God and Protests His Innocence

1 O Lord my God, I trust in you; save me from all who persecute me, and deliver me;

2 Lest he tear my soul like a lion, tearing it to pieces, with no one to rescue.

3 O Lord my God, if I have done this, if there is iniquity in my hands,

4 If I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me (I have rescued him who oppressed me without cause),

5 Let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it; let him trample my life under his feet upon the ground, and bring my glory to dust.

6 Arise, O Lord, in your anger; exalt yourself because of the wrath of my oppressors; and awake for me to the judgment that you have commanded.

7 So the assembly of the peoples will surround you; for their sake you will return on high.

8 The Lord will judge the peoples; judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness and according to my integrity.

9 Let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous; for you, O righteous God, test the hearts and minds.

10 My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.

11 God is a righteous judge, a God who is angry every day.

12 If a man does not repent, God will sharpen his sword; he has bent his bow and made it ready;

13 He has prepared weapons of death for him; he will send forth his flaming arrows against his persecutors.

14 Behold, he is in agony from iniquity; he has conceived mischief, and will bring forth lies.

15 He has dug a pit and made it deep, and has fallen into the pit he made.

16 His work will return on his own head; and his violence will descend upon his brain.

17 I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness, and I will sing praises to the name of the Lord Most High.

4 Se paguei com o mal àquele que tinha paz comigo (antes livrei ao que me oprimia sem causa);

6 Levanta-te Senhor, na tua ira; exalta-te por causa do furor dos meus opressores; e desperta por mim, para o juízo que ordenaste.

10 O meu escudo está com Deus, que salva os retos de coração.

11 Deus é um juiz justo, um Deus que se ira todos os dias.

12 Se o homem se não converter, Deus afiará a sua espada; já tem armado o seu arco, e está aparelhado;

13 E já para ele preparou armas mortais; e porá em ação as suas setas inflamadas contra os perseguidores.

14Eis que esse está com dores de perversidade; concebeu trabalhos, e produzirá mentiras.

15 Cavou um poço e o fez fundo, e caiu na cova que fez.

16 A sua obra cairá sobre a sua cabeça; e a sua violência descerá sobre a sua mioleira.

17 Eu louvarei ao Senhor segundo a sua justiça, e cantarei louvores ao nome do Senhor altíssimo.

1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger, nor chasten me in your hot displeasure.

2 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak; heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled.

3 My soul is also troubled; but how long, O Lord, how long?

4 Turn, O Lord, and deliver my soul; save me for the sake of your unfailing love.

5 For in death there is no remembrance of you; in the grave who will give you thanks?

6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night I make my bed swim; I water my couch with my tears.

7 My eyes are wasted away with grief; they have grown old because of all my enemies.

8 Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity, for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.

9 The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord will accept my prayer.

10 Let all my enemies be ashamed and dismayed; let them turn back and be ashamed in a moment.

7 Já os meus olhos estão consumidos pela mágoa, e têm envelhecido por causa de todos os meus inimigos.

8 Apartai-vos de mim todos os que praticais a iniqüidade; porque o Senhor já ouviu a voz do meu lamento.

9 O Senhor já ouviu a minha súplica; o Senhor aceitará a minha oração.

10 Envergonhem-se perturbem-se todos os meus inimigos; tornem atrás e envergonhem-se num momento.

परमेश्वर दुष्टों से घृणा करता है और धर्मियों को आशीर्वाद देता है

1 हे यहोवा, मेरे वचनों पर कान लगा; मेरे ध्यान पर ध्यान दो।

2 हे मेरे राजा, हे मेरे परमेश्वर, मेरी दोहाई सुन, क्योंकि मैं तुझी से प्रार्थना करूंगा।

3 हे यहोवा, भोर को मेरी वाणी तुझे सुनाई देगी; सुबह मैं तुम्हारे सामने उपस्थित होऊंगा और देखूंगा।

4 क्योंकि तू ऐसा परमेश्वर नहीं जो दुष्टता से प्रसन्न हो, और न बुराई तेरे साथ रहती है।

5 मूर्ख तेरे सम्मुख खड़े न होंगे; तू उन सब से घृणा करता है जो बुरा करते हैं।

6 तू झूठ बोलनेवालों को नाश करेगा; यहोवा खूनी और धोखेबाज़ मनुष्य से घृणा करेगा।

7 परन्तु मैं तेरी बड़ी करूणा के कारण तेरे घर में आऊंगा। और तेरे भय से मैं तेरे पवित्र मन्दिर की ओर झुकूंगा।

8 हे यहोवा, मेरे शत्रुओं के कारण मुझे अपने धर्म के मार्ग पर ले चल; मेरे सामने अपना मार्ग सीधा करो।

9 क्योंकि उनके मुँह से धर्म की बातें नहीं निकलतीं; उनकी अंतड़ियाँ सच्ची बुराइयाँ हैं, उनका गला खुली कब्र है; अपनी जीभ से चापलूसी करते हैं।

10 हे परमेश्वर, उनको दोषी ठहरा; अपनी ही सलाह से गिर जाते हैं; उनके बहुत से अपराधों के कारण उन्हें निकाल दे, क्योंकि उन्होंने तेरे विरुद्ध बलवा किया है।

11 परन्तु जितने तुझ पर भरोसा रखते हैं वे सब आनन्दित हों; वे सदा आनन्दित रहें, क्योंकि तू उनकी रक्षा करता है; और जो तेरे नाम से प्रेम रखते हैं वे तुझ में महिमा करें।

12 क्योंकि हे यहोवा, तू धर्मियों को आशीष देगा; तू उसे अपनी कृपादृष्टि से ढाल की तरह घेर लेगा।

God Hates the Wicked and Blesses the Righteous

1 Give ear to my words, O Lord; consider my meditation.

2 Hear the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to you I will pray.

3 In the morning you will hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I will present myself before you and watch.

4 For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, nor will evil dwell with you.

5 Fools will not stand in your sight; you hate all workers of iniquity.

6 You will destroy those who speak lies; the Lord will hate the bloody and deceitful man.

7 But I will come into your house in the greatness of your lovingkindness; and in your fear I will worship toward your holy temple.

8 Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies; Make your way straight before me.

9 For there is no righteousness in their mouth; their inward parts are full of wickedness, their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue.

10 Declare them guilty, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out because of the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you.

11 But let all those who trust in you be glad; let them rejoice forever, because you defend them; let those who love your name glory in you.

12 For you, O Lord, will bless the righteous; you will surround him with your favor as with a shield.

Deus aborrece os ímpios e abençoa os justos

 

1 Dá ouvidos às minhas palavras, ó Senhor; atende à minha meditação.

2 Atende à voz do meu clamor, Rei meu e Deus meu, pois a ti orarei.

3 Pela manhã ouvirás a minha voz, ó Senhor; pela manhã me apresentarei a ti, e vigiarei.

4 Porque tu não és um Deus que tenha prazer na iniqüidade, nem contigo habitará o mal.

5 Os loucos não pararão à tua vista; aborreces a todos os que praticam a maldade.

6 Destruirás aqueles que proferem a mentira; o Senhor aborrecerá o homem sanguinário e fraudulento.

7 Mas eu entrarei em tua casa pela grandeza da tua benignidade. E em teu temor me inclinarei para o teu santo templo.

8 Senhor, guia-me na tua justiça, por causa dos meus inimigos; aplana diante de mim o teu caminho.

9 Porque não há retidão na boca deles; as suas entranhas são verdadeiras maldades, a sua garganta é um sepulcro aberto; lisonjeiam com a sua língua.

10 Declara-os culpados, ó Deus; caiam por seus próprios conselhos; lança-os fora por causa da multidão de suas transgressões, pois se revoltaram contra ti.

11 Mas alegrem-se todos os que confiam em ti; exultem eternamente, porquanto tu os defendes; e em ti se gloriem os que amam o teu nome.

12 Pois tu, Senhor, abençoarás ao justo; circunda-lo-ás da tua benevolência, como de um escudo.

दाऊद अपने संकट में परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना करता है

1 हे मेरे धर्ममय परमेश्वर, जब मैं पुकारूं तब मेरी सुन ले; मेरे दुःख में तूने मुझे सहारा दिया; मुझ पर दया करो और मेरी प्रार्थना सुनो।

2 हे मनुष्यों, तुम कब तक मेरी महिमा को अनादर में बदलते रहोगे? तुम कब तक व्यर्थता से प्रेम करोगे और झूठ की खोज करोगे?

3 इसलिये यह जान लो कि यहोवा ने जिन लोगों को चाहा है, उन्हें अपने लिये अलग रखा है; जब मैं यहोवा को पुकारूंगा, तब वह सुन लेगा।

4 घबराओ, पाप मत करो; अपने बिस्तर पर लेटे हुए अपने हृदय से बोलो, और चुप रहो।

5 धर्म के बलिदान चढ़ाओ, और यहोवा पर भरोसा रखो।

6 बहुत से लोग कहते हैं, “कौन हमें कोई अच्छी चीज़ दिखाएगा?” हे प्रभु, अपने मुख का प्रकाश हम पर चमकाइये।

7 तूने मेरे मन में उससे भी अधिक आनन्द भर दिया है, जो उनको अन्न और दाखमधु की बढ़ती के समय हुआ करता था।

8 मैं शान्ति से लेटूंगा और सोऊंगा; क्योंकि हे यहोवा, केवल तू ही मुझे निडर रहने देता है।

David prays to God in his distress

1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness; in my distress you have given me relief; be gracious to me and hear my prayer.

2 O sons of men, how long will you turn my glory into dishonor? How long will you love vanity and seek after lies?

3 Know therefore that the Lord has set apart for himself those who are dear to him; the Lord will hear when I cry to him.

4 Be troubled, and do not sin; speak with your heart upon your bed, and be silent.

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in the Lord.

6 Many say, "Who will show us any good?" O Lord, lift up the light of your countenance upon us.

7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the time when their grain and their wine increased.

8 I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Davi ora a Deus na sua angústia

 

1 Ouve-me quando eu clamo, ó Deus da minha justiça; na angústia me desta largueza; tem misericórdia de mim e ouve a minha oração.

2 Filhos dos homens, até quando convertereis a minha glória em infâmia? Até quando amareis a vaidade e buscareis a mentira?

3 Sabei pois que o Senhor separou para si aqueles que lhe é querido; o Senhor ouvirá quando eu clamar a ele.

4 Perturbai-vos e não pequeis; falai com o vosso coração sobre a vossa cama, e calai-vos.

5 Oferecei sacrifícios de justiça, e confiai no Senhor.

6 Muitos dizem: Quem nos mostrará o bem? Senhor, exalta sobre nós a luz do teu rosto.

7 Puseste alegria no meu coração, mais do que no tempo em que se multiplicaram o seu trigo e o seu vinho.

8 Em paz também me deitarei e dormirei, porque só tu, Senhor, me fazes habitar em segurança.
