10- So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow woman was there gathering sticks. And he called to her, and said to her, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

11- And when she went to fetch it, he called to her, and said to her, Bring me now also a morsel of bread in thy hand.

12- But she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but only a handful of meal in a jar, and a little oil in a cruse: and see, I have gathered two sticks, and I will prepare some for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

13- Elijah said to her, "Do not be afraid; go, do as you have said; but first make me a little cake of it and bring it out to me; and then you shall make some for yourself and your son.

14- For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: The barrel of meal shall not be used up, nor shall the cruse of oil run dry, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth."

15- So she went and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and his household ate for many days.

16- The barrel of meal did not run out, nor did the cruse of oil run dry, in accordance with the word of the Lord which he spoke through Elijah.

17- And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick, and his sickness became so sore, that he could not breathe.

18- And she said to Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O man of God? hast thou come unto me to call my iniquity to remembrance, and to kill my son?

19- And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him upstairs into his own chamber, and laid him upon his bed.

20- And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, have thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I dwell, by killing her son?

21- And she stretched herself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's life come into him again.

22- And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he lived.

23- And Elijah took the child, and brought him down from the chamber into the house, and gave him to his mother. And Elijah said, See, your son lives.

24- And the woman said to Elijah, By this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is truth.

13 for all the sins of Baasha and the sins of Elijah his son, by which they sinned and by which they made Israel sin, provoking the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.

14 Now the rest of the acts of Elijah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned in Tirzah seven days; while the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

16 And the people who were encamped heard it said, Zimri has conspired, and has even struck down the king. So all Israel made Omri, the commander of the army in the camp, king over Israel that same day.

17 Then Omri and all Israel with him went up from Gibbethon and besieged Tirzah.

18 When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went to the palace of the king's house and burned the king's house with fire and died.

19 Because of his sins that he had committed, doing evil in the sight of the Lord by walking in the way of Jeroboam and his sin that he committed, making Israel sin.

8- No ano vinte s seis de Asa, rei de Judá, Ela, filho de Baasa, começou a reinar em Tirzá sobre Israel: e reinou dois anos.

9- E Zinri, seu servo, chefe de metade dos carros, conspirou contra ele, estando ele em Tirzá bebendo e embriagando-se em casa de Arsa, mordomo em Tirzá.

10- Entrou pois Zinri e o feriu, e o matou, no ano vigéssimo-sétimo de Asa, rei de Judá: e reinou em seu lugar.

11- E sucedeu que, reinando ele, e estando assentado no seu trono feriu a toda a casa de Baasa; não lhe deixou homem algum, nem a seus parentes, nem a seus amigos.

12 Assim destruiu Zinri toda a casa de Baasa, conforme à palavra do Senhor que falara pelo ministério do profeta Jeú, sobre Baasa,

13- Por todos os pecados de Baasa, e os pecados de Ela, seu filho, com que pecaram, e com que fizeram pecar a Israel, irritando ao Senhor Deus de Israel com as suas vaidades.

14- Quanto ao mais dos sucessos de Ela, e a tudo quanto fez, não está escrito no livro das crônicas dos reis de Israel?

15- No ano vigéssimo-sétimo de Asa, rei de Judá, reinou Zinri sete dias em Tirzá; e o povo estava acampado contra Gibetom, que era dos filisteus.

16- E ouviu dizer o povo que estava acampado: Zinri tem conspirado, e até feriu o rei. Todo o Israel pois no mesmo dia fez rei sobre Israel a Onri, chefe do exército no arraial.

17- E subiu Onri, e todo o Israel com ele de Gibetom, e cercaram a Tirzá.

18- E sucedeu,que Zinri, vendo que a cidade era tomada, se foi ao paço da casa do rei; e queimou sobre si a casa do rei a fogo, e morreu,

19- Por causa dos seus pecados que cometera,fazendo o que parecia mal aos olhos do Senhor, andando no caminho de Jeroboão, e no seu pecado que fizera, fazendo  pecar a Israel.

20- Quanto ao mais dos sucessos de Zinri, e à conspiração que fez porventura não está escrito no livro das crônicas dos reis de Israel?

1 तब यहोवा का यह वचन हनानी के पुत्र येहू के पास बाशा के विरूद्ध पहुंचा, और कहा,

2 क्योंकि मैं ने तुझे मिट्टी में से जिलाया, और अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल पर प्रधान ठहराया, और तू यारोबाम की सी चाल पर चला, और मेरी प्रजा इस्राएल से पाप करवाकर मुझे उसके पापों से भड़काया,

3 देख, मैं बाशा के वंश को, और उसके घराने के वंश को छीन लूंगा, और तेरे घराने को नबात के पुत्र यारोबाम के वंश के समान कर दूंगा।

4 जो कोई नगर में बाशा के लिये मर जाएगा, उसको कुत्ते खा डालेंगे; और जो कुछ उस में से मैदान में मर जाएगा उसे आकाश के पक्षी खा लेंगे।

5 और बाशा के और काम, और जो कुछ उसने किया, और उसकी शक्ति का वर्णन इस्राएल के राजाओं के इतिहास की पुस्तक में नहीं लिखा है?

1- Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying:

2- Because I raised you up from the dust and made you ruler over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made my people Israel to sin by provoking me to anger with their sins,

3- Behold, I will cut off the descendants of Baasha and the descendants of his house, and will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

4- Whoever dies of Baasha in the city the dogs will eat, and whoever dies of him in the field the birds of the air will eat.

5- Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

6- And Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his stead.

7- And the word of the LORD came by the hand of Jehu the son of Hanani the prophet against Baasha and against his house, because of all the evil that he had done in the sight of the LORD, provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, to be like the house of Jeroboam; and for this he had smitten him.

2- Porquanto te levantei do pó, e te pus por chefe sobre o meu povo Israel, e tu andaste no caminho de Jeroboão, e fizeste pecar a meu povo Israel, irritando-me com os seus pecados,

3- Eis que tirarei os descendentes de Baasa, e os descendentes da sua casa, e farei à tua casa, como à casa de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate.

4- Quem morrer a Baasa na cidade os cães o comerão; e o que dele morrer no campo as aves do céu o comerão.

5- Quanto ao mais dos sucessos de Baasa, e ao que fez, e ao seu poder, porventura não está escrito no livro das crônica dos reis de Israel?

6- E Baasa dormiu com os seus pais, e foi sepultado em Tirzá: e Ela, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

7- Assim veio também a palavra do Senhor, pelo ministério do profeta Jeú, filho de Hanani, contra Baasa e contra a sua casa; e isso por todo o mal que fizera aos olhos do Senhor, irritando-o com a obra de suas mãos, para ser como a casa de Jeroboão; e por isso o ferira.

33 यहूदा के राजा आसा के तीसरे वर्ष में अहिय्याह का पुत्र बाशा तिर्सा में सारे इस्राएल पर राज्य करने लगा, और चौबीस वर्ष तक राज्य करता रहा।

34 और उस ने वह किया, जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरा जान पड़ा; और वह यारोबाम की सी चाल पर, और अपने पाप के अनुसार चला, जिस से उस ने इस्राएल से पाप कराया था।

Jehu's Prophecy Against Baasha King of Judah

33- In the third year of Asa king of Judah Baasha the son of Ahijah began to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, and reigned twenty-four years.

34- And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of Jeroboam and in his sin with which he had made Israel sin.
