Judges 08
Gideon refuses to rule, makes an ephod and dies
22 Then the men of Israel said to Gideon, “Rule over us, both you and your son and your son's son; because you delivered us from the hand of the Midianites.
23 But Gideon said to them, I will not rule over you, nor will my son rule over you: the Lord will rule over you.
24 And Gideon said to him, I will make a petition to you: give each of you the pendants of his spoil (because they had gold pendants, because they were Ismailis)
25 And they said, We will give them in good mind. And they spread out a cloak, and each of them laid a pendant of their spoil there.
26 And it was the weight of the gold pendants that he asked for, seventeen hundred shekels of gold, aside from the mittens and chains, and the purple dresses, which brought the kings of the Midianites, and aside from the collars that the camels wore around their necks. .
27 And Gideon made him an ephod and put him in his city in Ophrah; and all Israel prostituted themselves there after him: and stumbled to Gideon and to his house.
28 So the Midianites were slaughtered before the children of Israel, and they never raised their heads again; and the land rested forty years in the days of Gideon.
29 And Jerubaal the son of Joash went away and dwelt in his house.
30 And Gideon had seventy sons, who proceeded from his thigh: because he had many women.
31 And his concubine, who was in Shechem, also gave him a son: and named him Abimelech.
32 And Gideon the son of Joash died, in a good old age, and was buried in the tomb of his father Jóas, in Ophra of the Abiezrites.
33 And it came to pass that, when Gideon died, the children of Israel became, and prostituted themselves after the Baals: and made Baal-Berite god.
34 And the children of Israel did not remember the Lord their God, who had delivered them from the hand of all their enemies around them.
35 Nor did they use charity with the house of Jerubaal, namely, Gideon, according to all the good he had done with Israel.

Judges 08 Gideon appeases the Ephraimites and kills the Midianite kings
Judges 08
Gideon appeases the Ephraimites and kills the Midianite kings
1 Then the men of Ephraim said to them, What is this that you did to us, that you did not call us, when you went to fight against the Midianites? And they contended with him strongly.
2 But he said to them, What more have I done now than you? Aren't Ephraim's doodles better than Abiezer's vintage?
3 God has given you in your hand to the princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeebe; what more could I do soon than you? Then his anger was softened towards him when he spoke this word.
4 And when Gideon came to Jordan, he passed with the three hundred men who were with him, already tired, but still persecuting.
5 And he said to the men of Succoth, Give, I ask you, some pieces of bread to the people, who follow in my footsteps: because they are tired, and I go in reach of Zeba and Salmuna, kings of the Midianites.
6 But the princes of Succoth said, "Is the hand of Zeba and Salmura in your hand now, that we may give bread to your army?"
7 Then said Gideon, For when the Lord gives Zeba and Salmuna into my hand, I will tread your flesh with the thorns of the desert, and with the briers.
8 And from there he went up to Penuel, and spoke to them in the same way; and the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered him.
9 So he also spoke to the men of Penuel, saying, When I return in peace, I will bring down this tower.
10 So Zeba and Salmuna were in Carcor, and their armies with them, about fifteen thousand men, all who remained in the army of the children of the east: and those who fell were one hundred and twenty thousand men, who drew the sword.
11 And Gideon went up by the way of those who lived in tents, to the east of Noba and Jogbéa: and he smote that army, because the army was careless.
12 And Zeba and Salmuna fled: but he pursued them, and took prisoners for both the Midianite kings, Zeba and Salmuna, and chased away the whole army.
13 So Gideon, the son of Joash, returned from the battle, before sunrise,
14 He took a young man from Sukkot, and asked him questions: who described the princes of Sukkot, and their elders, seventy-seven men.
15 Then the men of Succoth came and said, "You see Zeba and Salmuna here, of whom you have despised me in the face, saying, Zeba and Salmuna's palm is already in your hand, so that we may give bread to your men. , already tired?
16 And he took the elders of that city, and thorns of the desert, and thistles: and with them he taught the men of Succoth.
17 And he brought down the tower of Penuel, and killed the men of the city.
18 Then he said to Zeba and Salmuna, What men did you kill in Tabor? And they said, As you, they were; each seemingly, like the children of a king.
19 Then he said, My brothers were my mother's children: the Lord lives, that if you had left them alive, I would not have killed you.
20 And he said to Jeter, his firstborn son, Get up, kill them. But the young man did not take out his sword, because he feared; because he was still a boy.
21 Then Zeba and Salmuna said, "Arise, and attack us; because, like a man, such is his courage. So Gideon arose, and killed Zeba and Salmuna, and took the mittens, which were on the necks of their camels.

10 और यदि तुम अब भी नीचे जाने से डरते हो, तो तुम और तुम्हारा लड़का पुरा शिविर में चले जाते हैं;

Judges 07 Gideon with three hundred men overcomes the Midianites
Judges 07
Gideon with three hundred men overcomes the Midianites
1 Then Jerubaal (who is Gideon) arose at dawn, and all the people who were with him, and camped by the source of Harod; so that there was the camp of the Midianites to the north, by the hill of Moré in the valley.
2 And the Lord said to Gideon, Many are the people that are with you, that I may give the Midianites into their hands; so that Israel may not boast against me, saying, My hand has delivered me.
3 Now therefore, he proclaims in the ears of the people, saying, Whoever is cowardly and fearful, come back and hurry from the mountains of Gilead. Then the people returned twenty-two thousand, and ten thousand remained.
4 And the Lord said to Gideon, There are still many people: make them go down into the waters, and there I will prove them: and will the one I say to you: This one will go with you, this one will go; but everyone who I say to you: This one will not go with you, this one will not go.
5 And he brought the people down into the waters. Then the Lord said to Gideon: Whoever licks the water with his tongue, as a dog licks it, you will set it aside; as well as anyone who bends down on his knees drinking,
6 And it was the number of those who licked, holding their hands to their mouths, three hundred men; and all the rest of the people went down on their knees to drink the water,
7 And the Lord said to Gideon, With these three hundred men that licked the waters, I will deliver you, and will give the Midianites into your hand; so that all the other people each go to their place.
8 And the people took the provision and the horns in his hand, and he sent all the other men of Israel each to his tent, but the three hundred men kept him: and the camp of the Midianites was down in the valley.
9 And it came to pass that on that very night the Lord said to him, Arise, and go down to the camp, for I have given it into your hand.
10 And if you still fear going down, you and your boy Pura go down to the camp;
11 And you will hear what they say, and then your hands will strain and go down to the camp. Then he went down with his boy Pura to the end of the sentries that were in the camp.
12 And the Midianites, and the Amalekites, and all the children of the east lay in the valley like locusts in multitude: and their camels were innumerable, like the sand that is on the seashore in multitude.
13 So when Gideon arrived, behold, a man was telling his companion a dream, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, behold, a toasted barley bread rolled through the Midianites' camp, and reached the tents, and smote them, and they fell, and upset them from top to bottom, and were crushed.
14 And his companion answered and said, This is none other than the sword of Gideon, the son of Joash, an Israelite man. God has given the Midianites, and all this camp, into his hand.
15 And it came to pass, when Gideon heard the narration of this dream, and its explanation, that he loved it; and he returned to the camp of Israel, and said, Arise, for the Lord has given the camp of the Midianites into your hands.
16 Then he divided the three hundred men into three squads: and gave them horns and empty pitchers with torches lit in their hands.
17 And he said to them, Look at me, and do as I do: and, behold, when I come to the end of the camp, it will be that as I do, so will you do.
18 If I and all who are honking my horn will sound, then you will also sound the horn around all the camp, and say, By the Lord and Gideon.
19 So Gideon arrived, and the hundred men who were with him, at the end of the camp, at the beginning of the midnight watch, the guards having already set themselves: and they blew the horns, and broke the pitchers in their hands.
20 So the three squadrons blew the horns, and broke the pitchers, and had the torches burning in their left hands, and the horns they blew in their right hands; and they exclaimed, Sword of the Lord and Gideon.
21 And each one remained in his place around the camp: then the whole army ran and screamed and fled.
22 And when the three hundred horns sounded, the Lord turned the sword against each other, and this throughout the camp: and the army fled to Zererah, to Beth-Sita, to the limits of Abel-Meola, above Tabatha.
23 Then the men of Israel, of Naphtali, and of Asher and of all Manasseh were summoned, and persecuted the Midianites.
24 Gideon also sent messengers to all the mountains of Ephraim, saying, Go down to meet the Midianites, and take their waters to Beth-Bara, namely the Jordan. As all the men of Ephraim were summoned, they took their waters as far as Beth-Bara and the Jordan.
25 And they arrested two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeber; and they killed Oreb in the rock of Oreb, and Zeebe killed in place of Zeebe, and pursued the Midianites: and they brought the heads of Oreb and Zeebe to Gideon, beyond the Jordan.

10 E, se ainda temes descer, desce tu e teu moço Pura ao arraial;

10 E, se ainda temes descer, desce tu e teu moço Pura ao arraial;

Judges 06 An angel talks to Gideon
Judges 06
An angel talks to Gideon
11 Then the angel of the Lord came, and sat down under the oak that is in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash, Abiezrite: and Gideon, his son, was working out the wheat in the winepress, to save him from the Midianites.
12 Then the angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, The Lord is with you, a valiant man.
13 But Gideon said to him, Alas, my lord, if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? and what is done of all his wonders that our fathers tell us, saying, Has not the Lord brought us up out of Egypt? But now the Lord has forsaken us, and has given us into the hand of the Midianites.
14 Then the Lord looked at him and said, "Go in this strength of yours and you will deliver Israel out of the hand of the Midianites. Didn't I send you?"
15 And he said to him, Alas, my lord, with what shall I deliver Israel? behold, my thousand is the poorest in Manasseh, and I the least in my father's house.
16 And the Lord said to him, Because I will be with you, you will strike the Midianites as though they were one man.
17 And he said to him, If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that you are what you speak to me.
18 I beg you not to depart from here until I come to you and bring my gift and set it before you. And he said: I will wait until you return.
19 And Gideon came in and prepared a kid and unleavened cakes from a flour meal; the meat was put in a saffron and the broth put in a pot: and brought it up under the oak, and presented it to him.
20 But the angel of God said to him, "Take the unleavened meat and cakes and put them on this cake and pour the broth. And so it did.
21 And the angel of the Lord extended the tip of the staff, which was in his hand, and touched the meat and unleavened cakes: then fire came up from the wood, and consumed the unleavened meat and cakes; and the angel of the Lord disappeared from his eyes.
22 Then Gideon saw that he was the angel of the Lord; and Gideon said, Ah! Lord, Jehovah, that I saw the angel of the Lord face to face!
23 But the Lord said to him, Peace be with you: fear not: you will not die.
24 Then Gideon built an altar there to the Lord, and called him, Lord is peace: and even today he is in Ophra of the Abiezrites.
25 And it happened that very night that the Lord said to him: Take your father's ox, namely, the second ox of seven years: and bring down the altar of Baal, which is your father's; and cut the forest at his foot.
26 And build an altar to the Lord your God on the top of this strong place, in a convenient place: and take the second ox, and you shall offer it as a burnt offering with the wood you cut from the forest.
27 Then Gideon took ten men from among his servants, and did as the Lord had told him: and it came to pass that, fearing his father's house, and the men of that city, he did not do it by day, but did it by night.
28 When the men of that city arose at dawn, behold, Baal's altar was torn down and the forest which was at his foot was cut off: and the second ox was offered at the newly built altar.
29 And they said to one another, Who did this thing? When they searched and inquired, they said, Gideon, the son of Jobas, did this thing.
30 Then the men of that city said to Joash, Take your son out so that he may die, for he has broken down the altar of Baal, and has cut down the forest at his foot.
31 But Joas said to all who stood against him, Will you contend for Baal? will you deliver him? whoever contests for him this morning will be killed: if he is a god, contend for himself; because they knocked down your altar
32 So they called him Jerubaal that day, saying, Baal contend against him, for he has broken down his altar.
33 And all the Midianites and Amalekites, and the children of the East, were gathered together in one body, and passed by, and laid their field in the valley of Jezreel.
34 Then the spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, who blew the horn, and the Abiezrites came together after him.
35 And he sent messengers throughout the tribe of Manasseh, who was also summoned after him: he also sent messengers to Eser, and to Zebulun, and to Naphtali, and they went out to meet him.
36 And Gideon said to God, If you will deliver Israel by my hand, as you have said,
37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor: if the dew is only on the fleece, and dryness over the whole earth, then I will know that you will deliver Israel by my hand, as you have said.
38 And it was so: for the next day he arose at dawn, and pressed the fleece: and the dew on the fleece squeezed a bowl full of water.
39 And Gideon said to God, Thy anger should not be kindled against me, if I only speak this once: I beg you only this time to try the fleece to be dry, and in all the land there is dew.
40 And God did so that night: for it was dry on the fleece only, and there was dew on all the earth.

12 Então o anjo do Senhor lhe apareceu, e lhe disse: O Senhor é contigo, varão valoroso.
12 Então o anjo do Senhor lhe apareceu, e lhe disse: O Senhor é contigo, varão valoroso.

Judges 06
Servitude under the Medianites
1 But the children of Israel did what seemed evil in the eyes of the Lord: and the Lord gave them into the hands of the Midianites for seven years.
2 And when the Medianites prevailed over Israel, the children of Israel made themselves, for the Midianites, the pits in the mountains, and the caves and the fortifications.
3 For it happened that the Israelites and the Amalekites went up to sow Israel; and those of the East against him also went up.
4 And they went against them in the field, and destroyed the newness of the land, until they reached Gaza: and they left no food in Israel, neither sheep, nor oxen, nor donkeys.
5 For they went up with their cattle and tents; they came like locusts, in so many crowds that they could not be counted, neither they nor their camels: and they entered the land to destroy it.
6 So Israel was greatly impoverished by the presence of the Midianites: so the children of Israel cried out to the Lord.
7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord because of the Midianites,
8 The Lord sent a man a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them, Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel: From Egypt I brought you up, and brought you out of the house of bondage;
9 And I saved you from the hand of the Egyptians, and from the hand of all who oppressed you; and expelled them from before you, and gave you your land;
10 And I said to you, I am the Lord your God; do not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but you have not listened to my voice.

8 Enviou o Senhor um homem profeta aos filhos de Israel, que lhes disse: Assim diz o Senhor, Deus de Israel: Do Egito eu vos fiz subir, e vos tirei da casa da servidão;
9 E vos livrei da mão dos egípcios, e da mão de todos quanto vos oprimiam; e os expeli de diante de vós, e a vós dei a sua terra;

Judges 05 The song of Deborah
Judges 05
The song of Deborah
1 And Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang that very day, saying,
2 Because the chiefs took the lead in Israel, because the people volunteered, praise the Lord.
3 Hear, kings; give ear, princes: I, I will sing to the Lord; I will chant to the Lord God of Israel.
4 O Lord, when you left Seir, walking from the field of Edrom, the earth shook; even the skies dripped: even the clouds dripped water.
5 The mountains melted before the Lord God of Israel.
6 In the days of Sangar, son of Anate, in the days of Jael, the paths of travel ceased and those walking along paths went on twisted paths.
7 The villages in Israel ceased, they ceased: until I, Deborah, arose as a mother in Israel, I arose.
8 And if new gods were chosen, soon the war was at hand: did a shield or spear be seen among forty thousand in Israel?
9 My heart is for the legislators of Israel, who voluntarily volunteered among the people; Praise the lord.
10 You who ride on white donkeys, who sit in judgment, and who walk along the way, speak of this.
11 Where the sound of the arrows is heard, between the places where water is drawn, there speak of the righteousness of the Lord of the righteousness he did to his villages in Israel: then the people of the Lord came down at the gates.
12 Wake up, wake up, Deborah: wake up, wake up, sing a song: get up, Barak, and take prisoners to your prisoners, you son of Abinoam.
13 Then the Lord dominated the splendid among the people, what was left: the Lord dominated me over the mighty.
14 From Ephraim its root came out against Amalek: and after you Benjamin came from among your people: from Maquir and Zebulun the lawmakers went down, passing by with the staff of the scribe.
15 The chiefs of Issachar, too, went with Deborah; and like Issachar, so too Barak, he was sent on foot into the valley: in the currents of Reuben the resolutions of the heart were great.
16 Why did you stay among the corrals to hear the bleating of the flocks? In the divisions of Reuben they had great searches of the heart.
17 Gilead stayed beyond the Jordan, and Dan why did he stop by ships? Aser sat in the sea ports, and stayed in its ruins.
18 Zebulun is a people who exposed their lives to death, as well as Naphtali, in the heights of the countryside.
19 Kings came, fought: then the kings of Canaan fought in Taanaque by the waters of Megiddo: they took no silver gain.
20 From the heavens they fought: even the stars from the places of their courses fought against Sisera.
21 The stream of Kishon drew them, that old stream, the stream of Kishom. You have thought, O my soul, of strength.
22 Then the horses' nails shattered: by the gallop of their mighty men.
23 Curse Meroz, says the angel of the Lord, further curse your inhabitants: because they did not come to the help of the Lord, to the help of the Lord with the mighty.
24 Blessed be the women Jael, wife of Héber, the Kenyan: blessed be the women in the tents.
25 He asked for water, she gave him milk: in a prince's bowl she offered him butter.
26 He stretched out his left hand at the stake, and the right hand at the sheaf of workers: and he killed Sisera, and cracked his head when he nailed him and went through the fountains.
27 Between his feet he bowed, fell, was stretched: between his feet he bowed, fell: where he bowed there he was struck down.
28 Sisera's mother looked out the window and exclaimed through the railing: Why does it take so long for your car to come? why are your car steps slow?
29 The wisest of your ladies answered; and even she answered herself:
30 Would they not find and share spoils? a girl or two to each man? for Sisera spoils of various colors, spoils of various colors of embroidery; of various colors embroidered from both bands, for the necks of the spoil?
31 So, O Lord, let all your enemies perish! But those who love him be like the sun when it comes out in its strength.
32 And the land was still forty years.

Pisaste, ó minha alma, a força.
32 E sossegou a terra quarenta anos.

Jael kills Sisera
18 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, Retreat, my lord, retreat to me, fear not. He retired to his tent and she covered him with a blanket.
19 Then he said to him, "Give me, I ask you to drink some water, because I am thirsty." Then she opened a skin of milk, and gave him a drink, and covered him.
20 And he said to him, You stand at the door of the tent; and it will be that if someone comes, and asks you, and says, Is there anyone here? you answer then: No.
21 Then Jael, the wife of Héber, took a stake from the tent, and used a hammer, and went meekly to it and drove the stake into the fountain, and nailed it to the ground, while he was still in a deep sleep. , and already tired; and so he died.
22 And behold, as Barak followed Sisera, Jael went out to meet him, and said to him, Come, and I will show you the man you are looking for. And it came to her, and, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the stake in the fountain.
23 So that day God subjected Jabin king of Canaan to the children of Israel.
24 And the hand of the children of Israel continued to fight and harden over Jabin, king of Canaan: until they exterminated Jabin, king of Canaan.
