Judges 08 Gideon appeases the Ephraimites and kills the Midianite kings

Judges 08
Gideon appeases the Ephraimites and kills the Midianite kings
Then the men of Ephraim said to them, What is this that you did to us, that you did not call us, when you went to fight against the Midianites? And they contended with him strongly.
But he said to them, What more have I done now than you? Aren't Ephraim's doodles better than Abiezer's vintage?
God has given you in your hand to the princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeebe; what more could I do soon than you? Then his anger was softened towards him when he spoke this word.
And when Gideon came to Jordan, he passed with the three hundred men who were with him, already tired, but still persecuting.
And he said to the men of Succoth, Give, I ask you, some pieces of bread to the people, who follow in my footsteps: because they are tired, and I go in reach of Zeba and Salmuna, kings of the Midianites.
But the princes of Succoth said, "Is the hand of Zeba and Salmura in your hand now, that we may give bread to your army?"
Then said Gideon, For when the Lord gives Zeba and Salmuna into my hand, I will tread your flesh with the thorns of the desert, and with the briers.
And from there he went up to Penuel, and spoke to them in the same way; and the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered him.
So he also spoke to the men of Penuel, saying, When I return in peace, I will bring down this tower.
So Zeba and Salmuna were in Carcor, and their armies with them, about fifteen thousand men, all who remained in the army of the children of the east: and those who fell were one hundred and twenty thousand men, who drew the sword.
And Gideon went up by the way of those who lived in tents, to the east of Noba and Jogbéa: and he smote that army, because the army was careless.
And Zeba and Salmuna fled: but he pursued them, and took prisoners for both the Midianite kings, Zeba and Salmuna, and chased away the whole army.
So Gideon, the son of Joash, returned from the battle, before sunrise,
He took a young man from Sukkot, and asked him questions: who described the princes of Sukkot, and their elders, seventy-seven men.
Then the men of Succoth came and said, "You see Zeba and Salmuna here, of whom you have despised me in the face, saying, Zeba and Salmuna's palm is already in your hand, so that we may give bread to your men. , already tired?
And he took the elders of that city, and thorns of the desert, and thistles: and with them he taught the men of Succoth.
And he brought down the tower of Penuel, and killed the men of the city.
Then he said to Zeba and Salmuna, What men did you kill in Tabor? And they said, As you, they were; each seemingly, like the children of a king.
Then he said, My brothers were my mother's children: the Lord lives, that if you had left them alive, I would not have killed you.
And he said to Jeter, his firstborn son, Get up, kill them. But the young man did not take out his sword, because he feared; because he was still a boy.
Then Zeba and Salmuna said, "Arise, and attack us; because, like a man, such is his courage. So Gideon arose, and killed Zeba and Salmuna, and took the mittens, which were on the necks of their camels.
