1 E foi a sorte da tribo dos filhos de Judá, segundo as suas famílias, até ao termo de Edom, o deserto de Zim para o sul, até à extremidade da banda do sul.
2 E foi o seu termo para o sul, desde a ribeira do mar salgado, desde a baía que olha para o sul.
3 E sai para o sul, até à subida de Acrabim, e passa a Zim, e sobe do sul a Cades-Barnéia, e passa por Hezrom, e sobe a Adar, e rodeia a Carca:
4 E passa Azmom, e sai ao ribeiro do Egito, e as saídas deste termo irão até ao mar: este será o vosso termo da banda do sul.
5 O termo porém para o oriente será o mar salgado até à extremidade do Jordão: e o termo para o norte será da baía do mar, desde a extremidade do Jordão.
6 E este termo subirá até Bete-Hogla, e passará do norte a Bete-Arabá, e este termo subirá até à pedra de Boã, filho de Rúben.
7 Subirá mais este termo a Debir desde o vale de Acor, e olhará pelo norte para Gilgal, a qual está à subida de Adumim, que está para o sul do ribeiro: então este termo passará até às águas de Ensemes: e as suas saídas estarão da banda de Enrogel.
8 E este termo passará pelo vale do filho de Hinom, da banda dos jebuseus do sul: esta é Jerusalém: e subirá este termo até ao cume do monte que está diante do vale de Hinom para o ocidente, que está no fim do vale dos refains da banda do norte.
9 Então este termo irá desde a altura do monte até à fonte das águas de Neftoa; e sairá até às cidades do monte de Efrom; irá mais este termo até Baala: esta é Quiriate-Jearim:
10 Então tornará este termo desde Baala para o ocidente, até às montanhas de Seir, e passará ao lado do monte de Jearim da banda do norte: esta é Quesalom, e descerá a Bete-Semes, e passará por Timmá;
11 Sairá este termo mais ao lado de Ecrom para o norte, e este termo irá a Sicrom, e passará o monte de Baala, e sairá em Jebneel: e as saídas deste termo eram no mar.
12 Será porém o termo da banda do ocidente o mar grande, e o seu termo: este é o termo dos filhos de Judá ao redor, segundo as suas famílias.
13 Mas a Calebe, filho de Jefoné, deu uma parte no meio dos filhos de Judá, conforme o dito do Senhor a Josué: a saber, a cidade de Arba, pai de Enaque; este é Hebrom.
14 E expeliu Calebe dali os três filhos de Enaque: Sesai, e Aimã, e Talmai, gerados de Enaque.
15 E dali subiu aos habitantes de Debir; e fora dantes o nome de Debir Quiriate-Séfer.

4 For the sons of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim; and they gave to the Levites no inheritance in the land, but cities in which they dwelt, and their suburbs for their cattle and their possession.
5 As the LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel, and divided the land.
6 Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the word which the LORD spake unto Moses a man of God in Kadesh Barnea, because of me and thee.
7 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me to spy out the land. and I brought him an answer, as I felt in my heart:
8 But my brothers who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt: but I continued to follow the Lord my God.
9 And Moses swore that day, saying, Surely the land that trodden thy foot shall be thine, and of thy children for an inheritance for ever; For you have continued to follow the Lord my God.
10 And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said; forty-five years ago now, since the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while Israel was walking in the wilderness: and now, behold, I am about eighty and five years old this day.
11 And today I am as strong as in the day Moses sent me; what my strength was then, so is my strength now, for war, and for going out and for going in.
12 Now therefore give me this mountain of which the LORD spake in that day: for in that day thou hast heard that the Anakim are there, and great and strong cities are there: perhaps Jehovah will be with me to cast them out, as Jehovah hath said.

5 All these kings gathered together, and came and pitched by the waters of Merom to fight against Israel.
6 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not before them; For at this hour tomorrow I will give them all wounded before the children of Israel. Their horses shall you hock, and their chariots shall they burn with fire.
7 And Joshua and all the men of war with him came in haste to them into the waters of Merom: and they suddenly came upon them.
8 And the LORD gave them into the hand of Israel, and smote them, and followed them unto the great Sidon, and unto Mephrefoth Maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; they hurt them until they left none.
9 And Joshua did unto him, as the LORD said unto him, His horses hefted, and his chariots burned with fire.
10 And at that time Joshua returned, and took Hazor, and smote his king with the sword: because Hazor was before the head of all these kingdoms.
11 And every soul that was in it smote with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them; nothing was left of breath, and Hazor burned with fire.
12 And Joshua took all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them: as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.
13 Only the Israelites did not burn the cities that were on their hills: save Hazor alone, which Joshua burned.
14 And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel plundered unto themselves: they smote all the men with the edge of the sword, until they destroyed them: none of their breath left alive.
15 As the LORD had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua: and so did Joshua; not a word took away from all that the Lord commanded Moses.
16 So Joshua took all that land, and the mountains, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the plains, and the plains, and the mountains of Israel, and their plains;
