The inheritances of the nine and a half tribes. The inheritance of Judah

1 And the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was unto the border of Edom, the south wilderness of Zin, to the end of the south side.

2 And its border went south from the bank of the salt sea, from the bay looking south.

3 And he proceeds southward to the ascent of Acrabim, and passes over to Zin, and goes up south from Kadeshbarnea, and goes over Hezron, and goes up to Adar, and surrounds the Carcah:

4 And Azmon passed by, and went out into the brook of Egypt, and the outlets of this border shall go to the sea: this shall be your border to the south side.

5 But the border toward the east shall be the salt sea to the end of the Jordan: and the border to the north shall be from the bay of the sea from the end of the Jordan.

6 And the border shall go up to Beth-hogla, and shall pass from the north to Beth-arabah, and the border shall go up to the rock of Boan the son of Reuben.

7 And the border shall go up to Debir from the valley of Acor, and shall look on the north toward Gilgal, which is on the edge of Adumim, which is south of the brook: and it shall pass over to the waters of Enshem: and their outlets. will be from Enrogel's band.

8 And this border shall pass through the valley of the son of Hinnom, of the south Jebusite band: this is Jerusalem: and the border shall go up to the top of the mountain that is before the valley of Hinnon to the west, which is at the end of the valley of the Refains of the northern band.

9 Then shall that term go from the height of the mount to the source of the waters of Nephtoha; And he shall go out to the cities of mount Ephron. This term shall go further unto Baala: this is Kirjath-jearim:

10 And he shall return this border from Baala westward to the mountains of Seir, and shall pass by the side of mount Jearim of the north side: this is Kesalon, and shall go down to Beth-shemesh, and shall pass by Timmah;

11 And the border shall go forth to the side of Ekron northward, and the border shall go to Syron, and shall pass over the mountain of Baalah, and shall go out into Jebneel: and the border of this border was at sea.

12 But the border of the west side shall be the great sea, and the border thereof: this is the border of the children of Judah round about after their families.

13 And Caleb the son of Jephunneh gave a portion among the children of Judah, as the LORD said unto Joshua, namely, the city of Arba the father of Enak; This is Hebron.

14 And Caleb drove out from there the three sons of Enak: Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, begat of Enak.

15 And from thence he went up to the inhabitants of Debir; and before the name of Debir Kirjath-sefer.

16 And Caleb said, Whosoever smote Kirjath-sefer, and shall take it, I will give him my daughter Achah to wife.

17 So Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took her, and gave him his daughter Achah to wife.

18 And it came to pass, when she came to him, that he persuaded him to ask a field of his father; and she got off the donkey: and Caleb said to her, What do you have?

19 And she said, Give me a blessing: for you have given me dry land, give me also springs of water. Then he gave him the upper sources and the lower sources.

20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

21 And the cities from the end of the tribe of the children of Judah to the border of Edom southward: Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur.

25 And Hazor Hadata, and Kirioth Hesrom (which is Hazor)

26 Amman, and Shema, and Molada,

27 And Hazargadah, and Heshmon, and Beth-pallet,

28 And Hazarsual, and Beersheba, and Biziothea,

29 Baala, and Jim, and Ezen,

30 And Eltolad, and Kesil, and Hormah,

31 And Syklag, and Madmana, and Sansana,

32 And Lebaoth, and Silhim, and Aim, and Rimmon: all the cities with their villages, twenty-nine.

33 In the plains, Estaol, and Zorah, and Asnah,

34 And Zanoah, and Deceit, Tapua, and Enan,

35 Yarmuth, and Adullam, Socho, and Aztec,

36 And Saaraim, and Aditaim, and Gedera, and Gederotaim, fourteen cities and their villages.

37 Zeno, and Hadasah, and Migdal-gade,

38 And Dilan, and Mizpah, and Jocteel,

39 Lachish, and Boscath, and Eglon,

40 And Cabom, and Laamash, and Kithlish,

41 And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah: sixteen cities with their villages.

42 Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

43 And Iftah, and Asnah, and Nezib,

44 And Keilah, Akzib, and Maresa: nine cities with their villages.

45 Ekron, and the places of his jurisdiction, and their villages:

46 From Ekron to the sea, all that are in the border of Ashdoth, and their villages.

47 Ashdoth, the places of his jurisdiction, and their villages; Gaza, the places of its jurisdiction, and its villages, unto the river of Egypt: and the great sea, and the border thereof.

48 And in the mountains, Samir, Iatir, and Soco,

49 And Dana, and Kiriath-sanah (which is Debir),

50 And Anab, Estem, and Anim,

51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Gilo: eleven cities with their villages.

52 Arabe, and Dumah and Esan,

53 And Ianum, and Beth-tapua, and Afeca,

54 And Hunta, and Kiriath Arba (which is Hebron), and Zior: nine cities with their villages.

55 Muhammad, Carmel, and Ziph, and Jute,

56 And Jezreel, and Jokdeham, and Zanoah,

57 Cain, Gibeah, and Timna: ten cities and their villages.

58 Halul, Beth Zur, and Gedor,

59 And Marath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltech: six cities with their villages.

60 Kiriath Baal (which is Kiriath Jearim), and Rabbah: two cities with their villages.

61 In the wilderness: Beth-arab, Midim, and Secacah,

62 And Nibshan, and the city of salt, and Engedi: six cities with their villages.

63 But the children of Judah could not drive out the Jebusites that dwelt in Jerusalem: so the Jebusites dwelt with the children of Judah to this day.
