The inheritance of the sons of Joseph. The inheritance of Ephraim
1 Then came the lot of the sons of Joseph from the Jordan of Jericho to the waters of Jericho eastward, going up to the wilderness of Jericho in the mountains of Bethel.
2 And from Bethel came Luza, and passed over to the border of the Arches, even unto Ataroth;
3 And he goes down from the west side to the border of Jephleti, to the border of Betoron from below, and to Gazer, their exits to the sea.
4 So the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, had their inheritance.
5 And the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was, The border of their inheritance eastward was Ataroth Adar unto Betoron from above:
6 And the border proceeds toward the west toward Micmethath from the north, and turns the border eastward to Taanath-shiloh, and passes through it from the east to Janoah;
7 And he goes down from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarath, and touches Jericho, and goes out to Jordan.
8 From Tapaua the border goes west to the stream of Cana, and its outlets into the sea: this is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim according to their families.
9 And the cities which were set apart for the children of Ephraim were in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Manasseh: all those cities with their villages.
10 And the Canaanites that dwelt in Gazer did not drive out; and the Canaanites dwelt among the Ephraimites unto this day; but they served them by being tributary to them.
