9 And Moses swore that day, saying, Surely the land that trodden thy foot shall be thine, and of thy children for an inheritance for ever; For you have continued to follow the Lord my God.
10 And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said; forty-five years ago now, since the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while Israel was walking in the wilderness: and now, behold, I am about eighty and five years old this day.
11 And today I am as strong as in the day Moses sent me; what my strength was then, so is my strength now, for war, and for going out and for going in.

20 For the Lord came, that their hearts might be hardened, to go out to meet Israel in war, to destroy them utterly, that they should not have mercy on them; but to destroy them all, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
21 And Joshua came at that time, and cut off the Enakim from the mountains of Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.
22 None of the Enakim were left in the land of the children of Israel: they remained only in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdoth.
23 So Joshua took all this land according to all that the LORD had said unto Moses, and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to the children of Israel according to their divisions, according to their tribes: and the land rested from war.

3 Ao cananeu do oriente e do ocidente, e ao amorreu, e ao heteu, e ao ferezeu, e ao jebuseu nas montanhas e ao heveu ao pé de Hermom, na terra de Mizpá.
4 Daíram pois estes, e todos os seus exércitos com eles, muito povo, como a areia que está na praia do mar em multidão: e muitíssimos cavalos e carros.
5 Todos estes reis se ajuntaram, e vieram e se acamparam junto às águas de Merom, para pelejarem contra Israel.
6 E disse o Senhor a Josué: Não temas diante deles; porque amanhã a esta mesma hora eu os darei todos feridos diante dos filhos de Israel; os seus cavalos jarretarás, e os seus carros queimarás a fogo.
7 E Josué, e toda a gente de guerra com ele, veio apressadamente sobre eles às águas de Merom: e deram neles de repente.

11 E a toda alma, que nela havia, feriram ao fio da espada, e totalmente os destruíram; nada restou do que tinha fôlego, e a Hazor queimou com fogo.
12 E Josué tomou todas as cidades destes reis, e a todos os seus reis, e os feriu ao fio da espada, destruindo-os totalmente: como ordenara Moisés servo do Senhor.
13 Tão-somente não queimou os israelitas as cidades que estavam sobre os seus outeiros: salvo somente Hazor, a qual Josué queimou.
14 E todos os despojos destas cidades, e o gado, os filhos de Israel saquearam para si: tão-somente a todos os homens feriram ao fio da espada, até que os destruíram: nada do que fõlego tinha deixaram com vida.
15 Como ordenara o Senhor a Moisés seu servo, assim Moisés ordenou a Josué: e assim Josué o fez; nem uma só palavra tirou de tudo o que o Senhor ordenara a Moisés.
16 Assim Josué tomou toda aquela terra, as montanhas, e todo o sul, e toda a terra de Gósen, e as planícies, e as campinas, e as montanhas de Israel, e as suas planícies;
17 Desde o monte calvo, que sobe a Seir, até Baal-Gade, no vale do Líbano, ás raízes do monte de Hermom: também tomou todos os seus reis, e os feriu e os matou.
18 Por muitos dias Josué fez guerra contra todos os reis.
19 Não houve cidade que fizesse paz com os filhos de Israel, senão os heveus, moradores de Gibeom: por guerra as tomaram todas.
20 Porquanto o Senhor vinha, que os seus corações endurecessem, para saírem ao encontro a Israel na guerra, para os destruir totalmente, para se não ter piedade deles; mas para os destruir a todos, como o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés.
21 Naquele tempo veio Josué , e extirpou os enaquins, das montanhas de Hebrom, de Debir, de Anabe, e de todas as montanhas de Judá, e de todas as montanhas de Israel: Josué os destruiu totalmente com as suas cidades.
