I kings 7
Various works for the temple
And king Solomon sent, and commanded, and brought Hiram out of Tyre.
He was the son of a widow woman, from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man from Tire who worked in copper; and he was full of wisdom, and understanding, and knowledge to do all work in copper: he came to king Solomon, and did all his work.
For he formed two copper pillars: the height of each pillar was eighteen cubits, and a wire of twelve cubits surrounded each of the pillars.
He also made two capitals of copper casting to put on the heads of the pillars: five cubits was the height of one capital, and five cubits was the height of one capital of the other capital.
The nets were of net work, the bands of chain work for the capitals that were on the tops of the pillars; seven for one capital and seven for the other capital.
So he made the pillars with two rows round about on a net, to cover the capitals that were on the heads of the pomegranates; so he also did with the other capital.
And the capitals that were on the tops of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits long.
The capitals on the two pillars were also in front, on top of the bowl that were next to the net; and two hundred pomegranates, in rows all around, were also on the other capital.
Then he set up the pillars in the portico of the temple; and lifting up the right pillar, he called his name Jachin; and lifting up the left pillar, he called his name Boaz.
And upon the head of the pillars was the work of lilies. And so the work on the columns was finished.
He made the molten sea, ten cubits from one edge to the other, round all around, and five cubits high; and a cord of thirty cubits girded it round about.
And under its rim round about were buttons that girded it; for ten cubits they encompassed that sea round about; two orders of these buttons were fused in his foundry.
And it stood upon twelve oxen, three that looked toward the north, and three that faced toward the west, and three that faced toward the south, and three that faced toward the east: and the sea above was over them, and all of its posterior parts to the inside band.
And the thickness was a span, and its brim like the workmanship of the brim of a cup, or of a flower of lilies; he carried two thousand baths.
He also made ten bases of copper: the length of one base was four cubits, and its breadth four cubits, and its height three cubits.
And this was the work of the bases: they had straps, and the straps were between the frames.
And on the bands that were between the frames were lions, oxen, and cherubim, and on the frames a base above: and under the lions and the oxen a yoke of extended work.
And a base had four wheels of metal, and blades of copper; and its four corners had shoulders: under the laver were these fused shoulders, from the side of each of the joints.
And its mouth was within the crown, and a cubit above: and its mouth was round according to the work of the base, a cubit and a half: and also upon its mouth were notches, and its bands were square, not round.
And the four wheels were under the straps, and the axles of the wheels at the base: and the height of each wheel was a cubit and a half.
And the workmanship of the wheels was like the workmanship of a chariot wheel: its axles, and its cams, and its hubs, and its spokes, were all cast.
And there were four shoulders at the four corners of each base: their shoulders came out of the base.
And on the top of each base there was a round height of half a cubit all around: also on the top of each base were wings and straps, which came out of them.
And on the planks of his wings and on his girdles he engraved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, according to the gap of each joint round about.
As she made the ten sockets: they all had the same casting, the same measure, and the same engraving.
He also made ten lavers of copper: in each laver there were forty baths, and each laver was four cubits long, and on each of the ten bases was a laver.
And he put five bases on the right side of the house, and five on the left of the house: but the sea he put on the right side of the house towards the east, on the south side.
Then Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basins: and Hiram finished all the work that he did for king Solomon, for the house of the Lord.
Namely: the two pillars, and the globes of the capitals that were on the heads of the two pillars: and the two nets, to cover the two globes of the capitals that were on the heads of the pillars.
And the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, that is, two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the two globes of the capitals that were on top of the pillars;
Together with the ten sockets: and the ten basins on the sockets;
As also a sea, and the twelve oxen under that sea;
And the pots, and the shovels, and the basins, and all these vessels that Hiram made for king Solomon, for the house of the LORD, were all of burnished copper.
In the plain of Jordan, the king melted them in the muddy land; between Succoth and Zarthan.
And Solomon neglected to weigh all the vessels, because of their exceeding number, and the weight of the copper was not ascertained.
And Solomon made all the vessels that were fitting for the house of the LORD: the golden altar, and the golden table, on which was the shewbread.
And the candlesticks, five on the right and five on the left, in front of the oracle, of fine gold, and the flowers, and the lamps and the wickers, also of gold.
And the bowls, and the pans, and the basins, and the perfumers, and the braziers, of fine gold: and the pegs for the doors of the inner house for the most holy place, and those for the doors of the house of the temple, of gold.
So all the work that king Solomon did for the house of the LORD was finished: then Solomon brought the holy things of David his father; the silver, and the gold, and the vessels he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.
