Joshua 21 The cities of the tribe of Levi

Joshua 21
The cities of the tribe of Levi
Then the heads of the Levites' fathers came to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel;
And they spoke to them in Silo, in the land of Canaan, saying, The Lord commanded, by the ministry of Moses, that cities be given to us to dwell in, and their suburbs for our animals.
Therefore the Israelites gave the Levites their inheritance, as the Lord said, these cities and their suburbs.
And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron, the priest, among the Levites, fell by the tribe of Judah, and the tribe of Simeon, and the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities;
And the children of Kohath fell by the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and of the tribe of Dan, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities;
And the sons of Gershus fell by the families of the tribe of Issachar, and of the tribe of Asher, and of the tribe of Naphtali, and of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
To the children of Merari, according to their families, from the tribe of Reuben, and from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
And the children of Israel gave the Levites these cities and their aftermath by luck, as the Lord had commanded by the ministry of Moses.
They gave more, from the tribe of the children of Judah and from the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities, which were named by name,
So that they belong to the sons of Aaron, the families of the Kohathites, the children of Levi: because it was their first lot.
So they gave them the city of Arba, of the father of Anoch (this is Hebron), on the mountain of Judah, and its suburbs around it.
But the city field and its villages gave Caleb the son of Jephoné for his possession.
So the sons of Aaron, the priest, gave the city of refuge to the murderer, Hebron, and its suburbs, and Libnah, and its suburbs;
And Jatir, and its suburbs, and Estmoa, and its suburbs;
And Colom, and its suburbs, and Debir, and its suburbs,
And Aim, and its suburbs, and Jute, and its suburbs: nine cities of these two tribes.
And of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon, and its aftermaths, Geba, and its aftermaths;
Anathoth and its suburbs; and Almon and its suburbs, four cities.
All the cities of the sons of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities and their suburbs.
And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites, who remained of the children of Kohath, had their cities of the tribe of Ephraim.
And they gave them Shechem, the city of refuge for the murderer, and its suburbs, on Mount Ephraim, and Gezer, and its suburbs;
And Quibsaim, and its suburbs, and Beteron, and its suburbs: four cities.
And of the tribe of Dan Eltek, and its suburbs, Gibetom, and its suburbs;
Ajalon and its suburbs, Gatrimon and its suburbs; four cities.
And the half tribe of Manasseh, Taanaque, and its suburbs, and Gatrimon, and its suburbs: two cities.
All the cities for the families of the other sons of Kohath were ten and their suburbs.
And to the sons of Gérson, of the Levite families, Golan of the half tribe of Manasseh, a city of refuge for the murderer in Bashan, and its suburbs: two cities.
And of the tribe of Issachar, Kishjoon, and its suburbs: Daberat, and its suburbs;
Jarmuth, and its suburbs, Enganim, and its suburbs; four cities.
And of the tribe of Asher, Misal, and its suburbs;
Helcate and its suburbs and Roobe and its suburbs: four cities.
And from the tribe of Naphtali, Kedes, a city of refuge for the murderer, in Galilee, and its suburbs, and Hamoth-Dor and its suburbs; and Cartan and its suburbs: three cities.
All the cities of the Gersonites, according to their families, were thirteen cities and their suburbs.
And the families of the other sons of Merari, of the Levites, were given from the tribe of Zebulun. Jocneão and its suburbs, Cartá and its suburbs.
Dimná and its suburbs, Naalal and its suburbs: four cities.
And from the tribe of Reuben, Bezer, and its suburbs, and Jaaz, and its suburbs;
Kedemoth and its suburbs, and Mefaat and its suburbs: four cities.
And of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth, a city of refuge for the murderer, in Gilead, and its suburbs, and Mahanaim, and its suburbs;
Heshbon and its suburbs, Jaezer and its suburbs: four cities throughout.
All these cities belonged to the sons of Merari, according to their families, which were still left of the Levite families: and it was their fortune twelve cities.
And all the cities of the Levites, in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Israel, were forty-eight cities and their suburbs.
These cities were each with their suburbs around them: so were all these cities.
In this way the Lord gave Israel all the land which he had sworn to give to his fathers: and they possessed it and dwelt in it.
And the Lord gave them rest all around, according to all that he had sworn to their fathers: and none of all their enemies stood before them; all his enemies the Lord has given into his hand.
No word failed of all the good words that the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel: everything was fulfilled.
