Exodus 33
God will not among the people but will send an angel
And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, go up from here, you and the people you brought up from the land of Egypt, to the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it.
And I will send an angel before you, (and I will drive out the Canaanites, and the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and haveus, and jebuzeus)
To a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee, because thou art obstinate people, that I consume thee in the way.
And when the people heard this bad news, they are saddened, and none of them put on him his ornaments.
For the Lord said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel: People are stubborn; a time up in your midst, I consume: therefore now put off from you your ornaments, that I may know what to do unto thee.
And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horeb.
And Moses took the tent, and held it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of the congregation, and it happened that everyone who sought the Lord went out to the tent of the congregation, which was without the camp .
And it came to pass, leaving Moses will tent, all the people rose up, and every one stood at the door of his tent: and Moses looked at the back until he enters the tent.
And it came to pass, when Moses went in the tent, the pillar of cloud descended, and will put the tent door: and the Lord spoke to Moses.
And all the people saw the pillar of cloud stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose and bowed down each one to his tent door.
And the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend, then became the camp: but his server Joshua the son of Nun, a youth, never departed from the tent.
