Deus salva e vinga o seu povo

 

1 Quem é este, que vem de Edom, com vestidos tintos de Bozra? Este, que é glorioso em sua vestidura, que marcha com a sua grande força? Eu, que falo em justiça, poderosos para salvar.

2 Por que está vermelha a tua vestidura? E os teus vestidos como os daquele que pisa no lagar?

3 Eu sozinho pisei no lagar, e dos povos ninguém houve comigo; e os pisei na minha ira, e os esmaguei no meu furor; e o seu sangue salpicou os meus vestidos, e manchei toda a minha vestidura.

4 Porque o dia da vingança estava no meu coração; e o ano dos meus redimidos é chegado.

5 E olhei, e não havia quem me ajudasse; e espantei-me de não haver quem me sustivesse; pelo que o meu braço trouxe a salvação, e o meu furor me susteve.

6 E pisei os povos na minha ira, e os embriaguei no meu furor; e a sua força derrubei por terra.

1 सिय्योन के निमित्त मैं चुप न रहूँगा, यरूशलेम के निमित्त मैं शान्त न रहूँगा, जब तक कि उसकी धार्मिकता भोर के समान और उसका उद्धार धधकती मशाल के समान न चमक उठे।

2 जातियाँ तेरा धर्म और सब राजा तेरी महिमा देखेंगे; तेरा एक नया नाम रखा जाएगा जो यहोवा के मुख से निकलेगा।

3 तू यहोवा के हाथ में शोभायमान मुकुट और अपने परमेश्वर के हाथ में राजमुकुट होगा।

4 अब वे तुझे त्यागा हुआ न कहेंगे, और न तेरी भूमि को उजाड़ कहेंगे; परन्तु तेरा नाम हेपज़ीबा और तेरी भूमि का नाम ब्यूला होगा; क्योंकि यहोवा तुझ से प्रसन्न है, और तेरी भूमि सुहागिन होगी। 

5 क्योंकि जैसे एक युवक कुंवारी से विवाह करता है, वैसे ही तेरे पुत्र तुझ से विवाह करेंगे; और जैसे दूल्हा अपनी दुल्हन पर आनन्दित होता है, वैसे ही तेरा परमेश्वर भी तुझ पर आनन्दित होगा।

6 हे यरूशलेम! मैंने तुम्हारी शहरपनाह पर पहरेदार नियुक्त किए हैं; वे दिन-रात चुप न रहेंगे। हे यहोवा को पुकारनेवालो, चुप न रहो,

7 और न तब तक चुप रहो जब तक वह यरूशलेम को स्थिर करके उसकी प्रशंसा पृथ्वी पर न फैला दे।

8 यहोवा ने अपने दाहिने हाथ और अपनी बलवन्त भुजा की शपथ खाई है: “निश्चय मैं अब तुम्हारा अन्न तुम्हारे शत्रुओं को भोजन के लिये न दूँगा, और न परदेशी उस नये दाखमधु को पीएँगे जिसके लिए तुमने परिश्रम किया है।

9 परन्तु जो उसे बटोरते हैं, वे उसे खाकर यहोवा की स्तुति करेंगे; जो उसे काटते हैं, वे उसे मेरे पवित्रस्थान के आँगन में पीएँगे।

10 जाओ, फाटकों से जाओ; लोगों के लिए मार्ग तैयार करो: मार्ग को समतल करो, पत्थर साफ करो: लोगों के लिए एक झण्डा खड़ा करो।

11 देखो, यहोवा ने पृथ्वी की छोर तक घोषणा की है: सिय्योन की बेटी से कहो, “देखो, तुम्हारा उद्धार आता है; देखो, उसका प्रतिफल उसके साथ है, और उसका बदला उसके सामने है।”

1 For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines forth like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.

2 The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.

3 You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

4 No longer will they call you Forsaken, or call your land Desolate; but you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the Lord delights in you, and your land will be married. 

5 For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.

6 O Jerusalem! I have set watchmen on your walls; they shall never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, do not be silent,

7 nor be silent till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her a praise in the earth.

8 The Lord has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm: “Surely I will no longer give your grain as food for your enemies, nor will strangers drink the new wine for which you have toiled.

9 But those who gather it shall eat it and praise the Lord; those who harvest it shall drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.

10 Go through, go through the gates; Prepare the way for the people: level, level the road, clear it of stones: raise a banner for the peoples.

11 Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the ends of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, “Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.”

12 And they shall be called The holy people, the redeemed of the Lord; and you shall be called The Sought After, The City Not Forsaken.

1 Por amor de Sião me não calarei e por amor de Jerusalém me não aquietarei; até que saia a sua justiça como um resplendor, e a sua salvação como uma tocha acesa.

2 E as nações verão a tua justiça, e todos os reis a tua glória; e chamar-te-ão por um nome novo, que a boca do Senhor nomeará.

3 E serás uma coroa de glória na mão do Senhor, e um diadema real na mão do teu Deus.

4 Nunca mais te chamarão: Desamparada, nem a tua terra se denominará jamais: Assolada; mas chamar-te-ão: Hefzibá, e à tua terra: Beulá; porque o Senhor se agrada de ti; e a tua terra se casará.

5 Porque, como o mancebo se casa com a donzela, assim teus filhos se casarão contigo: e, como o noivo se alegra da noiva, assim se alegrará de ti o teu Deus.

6 Ó Jerusalém! Sobre os teus muros pus guardas, que todo o dia e toda a noite de continuo se não calarão: ó vós, os que fazeis menção do Senhor, não haja silêncio em vós,

7 Nem estejais em silêncio, até que confirme, e até que ponha a Jerusalém por louvor na terra.

8 Jurou o Senhor pela sua mão direita, e pelo braço da sua força: Nunca mais darei o teu trigo por comida aos teus inimigos, nem os estranhos beberão o teu mosto, em que trabalhaste.

9 Mas os que o ajuntarem o comerão, e louvarão ao Senhor: e os que o colherem beberão nos átrios do meu santuário.

10 Passai, passai pelas portas; preparai o caminho ao povo: aplanai, aplanai a estrada, limpai-a das pedras: arvorai a bandeira aos povos.

11 Eis que o Senhor fez ouvir até às extremidades da terra: Dizei à filha de Sião: Eis que a tua salvação vem; eis que com ele vem o seu galardão, e a sua obra diante dele.

12 E chamar-lhes-ão: Povo santo, remidos do Senhor; e tu serás chamada a Procurada, a cidade não desamparada.

3 सिय्योन में विलाप करनेवालों को राख की सन्ती सुन्दरता, विलाप की सन्ती आनन्द का तेल, और उदासी की सन्ती स्तुति का वस्त्र देने के लिए नियुक्त किया है; ताकि वे धर्म के वृक्ष, अर्थात् प्रभु के लगाए हुए कहलाएँ, जिससे उसकी महिमा हो।

4 वे पुराने उजड़े हुए स्थानों को फिर बसाएँगे, वे पुराने उजड़े हुए स्थानों को फिर से बसाएँगे, और वे उजड़े हुए नगरों को, जो पीढ़ी-दर-पीढ़ी उजड़े हुए हैं, फिर से बसाएँगे।

Salvation is proclaimed

1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, and to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

5 And strangers will tend your flocks; foreigners will be your farmers and your vinedressers.

6 But you will be called priests of the Lord, you will be named ministers of our God; you will feed on the abundance of the nations, and in their glory you will boast.

7 Because of your double shame and disgrace, they will rejoice in their portion; therefore in their land they will possess double, and they will have everlasting joy.

8 For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate wickedness. I will reward them in truth and make an everlasting covenant with them.

9 Their offspring will be known among the nations, and their descendants among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the Lord has blessed.

10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

11 For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.

A salvação é proclamada

 

1 O Espírito do Senhor Jeová está sobre mim; porque o Senhor me ungiu, para pregar boas novas aos mansos: enviou-me a restaurar os contritos de coração, e proclamar liberdade aos cativos, e a abertura de prisão aos presos;

2 A apregoar o ano aceitável do Senhor e o dia da vingança do nosso Deus; a consolar todos os tristes;

3 A ordenar acerca dos tristes de Sião que se lhes dê ornamentos por cinza, óleo de gozo por tristeza, vestido de louvor por espírito angustiado; a fim de que se chamem árvores de justiça, plantação do Senhor, para que ele seja glorificado.

4 E edificarão os lugares antigamente assolados e restaurarão os de antes destruídos, e renovarão as cidades assoladas, destruídas de geração em geração.

5 E haverá estrangeiros, que apascentarão os vossos rebanhos: e estranhos serão os vossos lavradores e os vossos vinheiros.

6 Mas vós sereis chamados sacerdotes do Senhor, e vos chamarão ministros de nosso Deus: comereis a abundância das nações, e na sua glória vos gloriareis.

7 Por vossa dupla vergonha, e afronta, exultarão pela sua parte; pelo que na sua terra possuirão o dobro, e terão perpétua alegria.

8 Porque eu, o Senhor, amo o juízo, aborreço a iniqüidade; eu lhes darei sua recompensa em verdade, e farei um concerto eterno com eles.

9 E a sua posteridade será conhecida entre as nações, e os seus descendentes no meio dos povos; todos quantos os virem os conhecerão como semente bendita do Senhor.

10 Regozijar-me-ei muito no Senhor, a minha alma se alegrara no meu Deus: porque me vestiu de vestidos de salvação, me cobriu com o manto de justiça, como um noivo que se adorna com atavios, e como noiva que se enfeita com as suas jóias.

5 तब तू देखेगी और तेरे मुख पर प्रकाश होगा, और तेरा हृदय आनन्द से उछलेगा और फूलेगा; समुद्र का धन तेरे पास लाया जाएगा, और जातियों का धन तेरे पास आएगा।

14 अत्याचारियों की सन्तान दण्डवत् करते हुए तुम्हारे पास आएँगे; जिन्होंने तुम्हें तुच्छ जाना था, वे सब तुम्हारे पाँवों पर गिरेंगे; और वे तुम्हें यहोवा का नगर, इस्राएल के पवित्र का सिय्योन कहेंगे।

15 उस तिरस्कार और घृणा के बदले, जो तुम्हें मिली थी, जिससे कोई भी तुम्हारे बीच से होकर नहीं गुजरता था, मैं तुम्हें एक चिरस्थायी श्रेष्ठता, पीढ़ी-दर-पीढ़ी हर्ष का कारण बनाऊँगा।

16 तुम अन्यजातियों का दूध पियोगी, और राजाओं की छातियों से पोषित होओगी; और तुम जान लोगे कि मैं यहोवा, तुम्हारा उद्धारकर्ता और तुम्हारा छुड़ानेवाला, याकूब का सर्वशक्तिमान हूँ।

18 तुम्हारे देश में फिर कभी उपद्रव, और न तुम्हारे सिवानों के भीतर उजाड़ या विनाश की चर्चा सुनाई देगी; परन्तु तुम अपनी शहरपनाह का नाम उद्धार और अपने फाटकों का नाम स्तुति रखोगे।

19 दिन में सूर्य फिर कभी तुम्हारा प्रकाश न होगा, न चन्द्रमा की चमक तुम पर चमकेगी; क्योंकि यहोवा तुम्हारा सदा का प्रकाश और तुम्हारा परमेश्वर तुम्हारी महिमा होगा।

20 तुम्हारा सूर्य फिर कभी अस्त न होगा, और तुम्हारा चन्द्रमा कभी क्षीण न होगा; यहोवा तुम्हारा सदा का प्रकाश होगा, और तुम्हारे शोक के दिन समाप्त हो जाएँगे।

21 और तुम्हारे सब लोग धर्मी होंगे; वे सदा देश के अधिकारी रहेंगे; वे मेरे द्वारा लगाए गए पौधे होंगे, मेरे हाथों का काम, जिससे मेरी महिमा हो।

Jerusalem is restored to its glory

1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.

2 For behold, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness is over the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will appear over you.

3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

4 Lift up your eyes all around and see; they all gather together and come to you; your sons will come from afar, and your daughters will be carried on your side.

5 Then you will see and be radiant, and your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth of the sea will be brought to you, and the riches of the nations will come to you.

6 Herds of camels will cover you, young camels of Midian and Ephah; All will come from Sheba: they will bring gold and incense, and they will proclaim the praises of the Lord.

7 All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered to you, the rams of Nebaioth will serve you; they will ascend my altar with acceptance, and I will glorify the house of my glory.

8 Who are these that fly like clouds, and like doves to their windows?

9 Surely the islands will wait for me, and first the ships of Tarshish, to bring your children from afar, their silver and their gold with them, in the sanctification of the name of the Lord your God, and of the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.

10 And the sons of foreigners will build your walls, and their kings will serve you; for in my wrath I struck you, but in my kindness I have had mercy on you.

11 And your gates will be open continually; they will not be shut day or night; so that they may bring to you the riches of the nations, and their kings led in procession.

12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; those nations shall be utterly destroyed.

13 The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the cypress, the pine, and the box tree together, to adorn the place of my sanctuary, and I will glorify the place where my feet dwell.

14 The children of the oppressors shall come to you, bowing down; all who despised you shall prostrate themselves at the soles of your feet; and they shall call you the city of the Lord, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

15 Instead of the contempt and abhorrence to which you were subjected, so that no one passed through you, I will make you an everlasting excellency, a joy from generation to generation.

16 You shall suckle the milk of nations, and be nourished at the breasts of kings; And you will know that I am the Lord, your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

17 Instead of bronze I will bring gold, and instead of iron I will bring silver, and instead of wood bronze, and instead of stones iron; and I will make your inspectors peace and your tax collectors righteousness.

18 No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor desolation or destruction within your borders; but you will call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

19 The sun will no longer be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you; for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

20 Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of mourning will end.

21 And all your people will be righteous; they will inherit the land forever; They will be shoots planted by me, the work of my hands, so that I may be glorified.

22 The smallest one will become a thousand, and the least one a mighty nation. I, the Lord, will do this swiftly in its time.

1 Levanta-te, resplandece, porque já vem a tua luz, e a glória do Senhor vai nascendo sobre ti.

2 Porque eis que as trevas cobriram a terra, e a escuridão os povos; mas sobre ti o Senhor virá surgindo, e a sua glória se verá sobre ti.

3 E as nações caminharão à tua luz, e os reis ao resplendor que te nasceu.

4 Levanta em redor os teus olhos, e vê; todos estes já se ajuntaram, e vêm a ti: teus filhos virão de longe, e tuas filhas se criarão a teu lado.

5 Então o verás, e serás iluminado, e o teu coração estremecerá e se alargará; porque a abundância do mar se tornará a ti, e as riquezas das nações a ti virão.

8 Quem são estes que vêm voando como nuvens, e como pombas às suas janelas?

9 Certamente as ilhas me aguardarão, e primeiro os navios de Tarsis, para trazer teus filhos de longe, a sua prata e o seu ouro com eles, na santificação do nome do Senhor teu Deus, e do Santo de Israel, porquanto te glorificou.

10 E os filhos dos estrangeiros edificarão os teus muros, e os seus reis te servirão; porque no meu furor te feri, mas na minha benignidade tive misericórdia de ti.

11 E as tuas portas estarão abertas de contínuo: nem de dia nem de noite se fecharão; para que tragam a ti as riquezas das nações, e, conduzidos com eles, os seus reis.

12 Porque a nação e o reino que te não servirem perecerão; assim, essas nações de todo serão assoladas.

13 A glória do Líbano virá a ti; a faia, o pinheiro, e o buxo conjuntamente, para ornarem o lugar do meu santuário e glorificarei o lugar em que assentam os meus pés.

15 Em vez do desprezo e do aborrecimento a que foste votada, de modo que ninguém passava por ti, te porei uma excelência perpétua, um gozo de geração em geração.

16 E mamarás do leite das nações, e te alimentarás aos peitos dos reis; e saberás que eu sou o Senhor, o teu Salvador, e o teu Redentor, o Possante de Jacó.

17 Por cobre trarei ouro, e por ferro trarei prata, e por madeira bronze, e por pedras ferro: e farei pacíficos os teus inspetores e justos os teus exatores.

18 Nunca mais se ouvirá de violência na tua terra, de desolação ou destruição nos teus termos; mas aos teus muros chamarás salvação, e às tuas portas louvor.

19 Nunca mais te servirá o sol para luz do dia, nem com o seu resplendor a lua te alumiará; mas o Senhor será a tua luz perpétua, e o teu Deus a tua glória.

20 Nunca mais se porá o teu sol, nem a tua lua minguará; porque o Senhor será a tua luz perpétua, e os dias do teu luto findarão.

21 E todos os do teu povo serão justos, para sempre herdarão a terra; serão renovos por mim plantados, obra das minhas mãos, para que eu seja glorificado.

1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.

2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

3 For your hands are defiled with blood, your fingers with guilt; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has uttered wickedness.

4 No one calls for justice; no one pleads truthfully. They trust in worthless idols and speak lies; they conceive trouble and bring forth evil.

5 They hatch viper’s eggs and weave spider webs; whoever eats their eggs will die, and when they are crushed, a viper hatches from them.

6 Their webs are not fit for clothing, nor can they cover themselves with their works; their works are works of iniquity, and deeds of violence are in their hands.

7 Their feet run to evil, and they hasten to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; destruction and ruin are in their paths.

8 They do not know the way of peace, nor is there justice in their steps; they have made their paths crooked for themselves; whoever walks in them does not know peace.

9 Therefore, justice is far from us, and righteousness does not reach us; we look for light, but behold, there is only darkness; for brightness, but we walk in gloom.

10 We grope along the wall like the blind; yes, like those who have no eyes we grope; we stumble at midday as in the twilight, and in dark places we are like the dead.

11 We all growl like bears, and moan continually like doves; we look for justice, but it does not come; for salvation, but it is far from us.

12 For our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and we know our iniquities;

13 How we have transgressed and lied against the Lord, and have turned away from our God, speaking of oppression and rebellion, conceiving and uttering from our hearts words of falsehood.

14 Therefore justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth has stumbled in the streets, and equity cannot enter.

15 Yes, truth fails, and he who turns away from evil makes himself plundered; and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.

16 He saw that there was no one, and wondered that there was no intercessor; therefore his own arm brought him salvation, and his own righteousness sustained him.

17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.

18 According to their deeds, so shall his recompense be: wrath to his adversaries, and recompense to his enemies; to the islands he shall give their recompense.

19 Then shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

20 And a Redeemer shall come to Zion, and to them that turn away from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord. 

21 “As for me, this is my covenant with them,” declares the Lord: “My Spirit, who is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, will not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of their descendants,” declares the Lord, “from now on and forever.”

1 Eis que a mão do Senhor não está encolhida, para que não possa salvar; nem o seu ouvido agravado, para não poder ouvir.

2 Mas as vossas iniqüidades fazem divisão entre vós e o vosso Deus: e os vossos pecados encobrem o seu rosto de vós, para que vos não ouça.

3 Porque as vossas mãos estão contaminadas de sangue, e os vossos dedos de iniqüidade: os vossos lábios falam falsamente, a vossa língua pronuncia perversidade.

4 Ninguém há que clame pela justiça, nem ninguém que compareça em juízo pela verdade; confiam na vaidade, e andam falando mentiras, concebem o trabalho, e produzem a iniqüidade.

5 Chocam ovos de basilisco, e tecem teias de aranha: o que comer dos ovos deles morrerá; e, apertando-os, sai deles uma víbora.

6 As suas teias não prestam para vestidos, nem se poderão cobrir com as suas obras: as suas obras são obras de iniqüidade, e obra de violência há nas suas mãos.

7 Os seus pés correm para o mal, e se apressam para derramarem o sangue inocente: os seus pensamentos são pensamentos de iniqüidade, destruição e quebrantamento há nas suas estradas.

8 Não conhecem o caminho da paz, nem há juízo nos seus passos: as suas veredas tortuosas as fizeram para si mesmos; todo aquele que anda por elas não tem conhecimento da paz.

9 Pelo que o juízo está longe de nós, e a justiça não nos alcança; esperamos pela luz, e eis que só há trevas; pelo resplendor, mas andamos em escuridão.

10 Apalpamos as paredes como cegos; sim, como os que não têm olhos andamos apalpando: tropeçamos ao meio-dia como nas trevas, e nos lugares escuros somos como mortos.

11 Todos nós bramamos como ursos, e continuamente gememos como pombas: esperamos o juízo, e ele não aprece; pela salvação, e está longe de nós.

12 Porque as nossas transgressões se multiplicam perante ti, e os nossos pecados testificam contra nós; porque as nossas transgressões estão conosco, e conhecemos as nossas iniqüidades;

13 Como o prevaricar, e mentir contra o Senhor, e o retirarmo-nos do nosso Deus, o falar de opressão e rebelião, o conceber e expectorar do coração palavras de falsidade.

14 Pelo que o juízo se tornou atrás, e a justiça se pôs longe; porque a verdade anda tropeçando pelas ruas, e a equidade não pode entrar.

15 Sim, a verdade desfalece, e quem se desvia do mal arrisca-se a ser despojado: e o Senhor o viu, e pareceu mal aos seus olhos que não houvesse justiça.

16 E viu que ninguém havia, e maravilhou-se de que não houvesse um intercessor; pelo que o seu próprio braço lhe trouxe a salvação, e a sua própria justiça o susteve;

17 Porque se revestiu de justiça, como de uma couraça, e pôs o elmo da salvação na sua cabeça, e tomou vestidos de vingança por vestidura, e cobriu-se de zelo, como de um manto.

18 Conforme forem as obras deles, assim será a sua retribuição; furor aos seus adversários, e recompensa aos seus inimigos: às ilhas dará ele a sua recompensa.

19 Então temerão o nome do Senhor desde o poente, e a sua glória desde o nascente do sol: vindo o inimigo como uma corrente de águas, o Espírito do Senhor arvorará contra ele a sua bandeira.

20 E virá um Redentor a Sião e aos que se desviarem da transgressão em Jacó, diz o Senhor.

13 यदि तुम सब्त के दिन को आनन्द का दिन और यहोवा के पवित्र दिन को योग्य और आदरणीय समझकर उसका आदर करो, और अपने मार्गों पर न चलो, अपनी इच्छा पूरी न करो, और अपनी ही बातें न बोलो। 

14 तब तुम यहोवा के कारण आनन्दित होगे, और मैं तुम्हें पृथ्वी के ऊंचे स्थानों पर सवारी कराऊंगा, और तुम्हारे पिता याकूब की विरासत से तुम्हें खिलाऊंगा; क्योंकि यहोवा के मुख से ऐसा कहा गया है।

1 Cry aloud, do not hold back; raise your voice like a trumpet! Declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins.

2 Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake the ordinance of their God. They ask of me the ordinances of justice; they delight to draw near to God.

3 They say, “Why have we fasted, and you have not seen it? Why have we afflicted our souls, and you take no notice? Behold, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and exact all your labors.

4 Behold, you fast for strife and debate, and to strike wicked blows. You must not fast as you do today, to make your voice heard on high.

5 Is this the kind of fasting I have chosen, only a day for people to humble themselves? Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed and for lying in sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable to the Lord?

6 Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. 

9 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry out, and he will say: Here I am. If you remove from your midst the yoke, the pointing of the finger, and speaking vanity;

10 And if you open your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light will dawn in the darkness, and your gloom will be like midday.

11 And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in dry places, and strengthen your bones; they shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters never fail.

12 And those who come from you shall rebuild the ancient ruins; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in.

13 If you turn your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight, and the holy day of the Lord worthy and honorable, and honor it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words,

14 Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord, and I will cause you to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.

1 Clama em alta voz, não te detenhas, levanta a tua voz como a trombeta e anuncia ao meu povo a sua transgressão, e à casa de Jacó os seus pecados.

2 Todavia me procuram cada dia, tomam prazer em saber os meus caminhos; como um povo que pratica a justiça, e não deixa o direito do seu Deus, perguntam-me pelos direitos da justiça, têm prazer em se chegar a Deus,

3 Dizendo: Por que jejuamos nós, e tu não atentas para isso? Por que afligimos as nossas almas, e tu o não sabes? Eis que no dia em que jejuais achais o vosso próprio contentamento, e requereis todo o vosso trabalho.

4 Eis que para contendas e debates jejuais, e para dardes punhadas impiamente: não jejueis como hoje, para fazer ouvir a vossa voz no alto.

5 Seria este o jejum que eu escolheria: que o homem um dia aflija a sua alma, que incline a sua cabeça como o junco, e estenda debaixo de si saco e cinza? Chamaria tu a isto jejum e dia aprazível ao Senhor?

6 Porventura não é este o jejum que escolhi? Que soltes as ligaduras da impiedade, que desfaças as ataduras do jugo? E que deixes livres os quebrantados, e despedaces todo o jugo?

7 Porventura não é também que repartas o teu pão com o faminto, e recolhas em casa os pobres desterrados? E vendo o nu, o cubras, e não te escondas da tua carne?

8 Então romperá a tua luz como a alva, e a tua cura apressadamente brotará, e a tua justiça irá adiante da tua face, e a glória do Senhor será a tua retaguarda.

9 Então, clamarás, e o Senhor te responderá: gritarás, e ele dirá: Eis-me aqui: se tirares do meio de ti o jugo, o estender do dedo, e o falar vaidade;

10 E se abrires a tua alma ao faminto, e fartares a alma aflita: então a tua luz nascerá nas trevas, e a tua escuridão será como o meio-dia.

11 E o Senhor te guiará continuamente, e fartará a tua alma em lugares secos, e fortificará os teus ossos; e serão como um jardim regado, e como um manancial, cujas águas nunca faltam.

12 E os que de ti procederem edificarão os lugares antigamente assolados; e levantarás os fundamentos de geração em geração; e chamar-te-ão reparador das roturas, e restaurador de veredas para morar.

13 Se desviares o teu pé do sábado, de fazer a tua vontade no meu santo dia, e se chamares ao sábado deleitoso, e santo dia do Senhor digno e honra, e o honrares não seguindo os teus caminhos, nem pretendendo fazer a tua própria vontade, nem falar as tuas próprias palavras,

2 जो लोग धर्म से चलते हैं, वे शांति में प्रवेश करते हैं और अपने बिस्तरों पर विश्राम करते हैं।

3 परन्तु हे जादूगरनी की सन्तानों, हे व्यभिचारियों और वेश्याओं की सन्तानों, यहाँ आओ।

4 तुम किसका उपहास करते हो? तुम किसके विरुद्ध अपना मुँह खोलते और अपनी जीभ निकालते हो? क्या तुम पाप की सन्तान, झूठ की सन्तान नहीं हो?

5 तुम हर हरे पेड़ के नीचे काम-वासना से जलते हो और अपने बच्चों को नालों में, चट्टानों की दरारों में बलि चढ़ाते हो।

6 नालों के चिकने पत्थरों पर तुम्हारा भाग है; यही तुम्हारा भाग है; उन्हीं पर तुम अपना अर्घ और बलि चढ़ाते हो। क्या मैं इन बातों से प्रसन्न होऊँ?

7 तुम ऊँचे और ऊँचे पहाड़ों पर अपना बिछौना बिछाते हो; और उन पर बलि चढ़ाने जाते हो।

8 तू अपने द्वारों और चौखटों के पीछे अपनी निशानियाँ बनाता है; क्योंकि तू मुझसे ज़्यादा दूसरों के सामने अपने को उघाड़ता है, और ऊपर जाकर अपना बिछौना फैलाता है, और उनके साथ वाचा बाँधता है; जहाँ कहीं तू उनका बिछौना देखता है, वहाँ उससे प्रेम करता है।

9 तू तेल लेकर राजा के पास जाता है और अपनी सुगंधियाँ बढ़ाता है; तू अपने दूतों को दूर भेजता है, और अपने आप को अधोलोक तक दीन करता है।

10 तू अपनी लंबी यात्रा में थक गया है; परन्तु यह नहीं कहता, “कोई आशा नहीं है”; जो तूने खोजा था वह तुझे मिल गया है, इसलिए तू थकता नहीं है।

11 परन्तु किसका भय या भय तुझे हुआ, कि तू झूठ बोले, और मुझे स्मरण न रखे, और न मुझे अपने मन में रखे? क्या इसका कारण यह नहीं है कि मैं बहुत दिनों से चुप रहा, और तू नहीं डरता?

12 मैं तेरे धर्म और तेरे उन कामों का वर्णन करूँगा, जिनसे तुझे कोई लाभ नहीं होगा।

13 जब तू चिल्लाए, तो तेरे इकट्ठे हुए लोग तुझे बचाएँ; परन्तु वायु उन सब को उड़ा ले जाएगी, और व्यर्थता उन्हें छीन ले जाएगी; परन्तु जो मुझ पर भरोसा रखता है, वह देश का अधिकारी होगा, और मेरे पवित्र पर्वत का अधिकारी होगा।

14 और यह कहा जाएगा: “मार्ग को समतल करो, समतल करो, मार्ग को तैयार करो; मेरी प्रजा के मार्ग में से ठोकरें हटा दो।”

15 क्योंकि वह महान और महान परमेश्वर जो सदा वास करता है, जिसका नाम पवित्र है, यों कहता है: “मैं ऊँचे और पवित्र स्थान में रहता हूँ, और उसके साथ भी रहता हूँ जो खेदित और नम्र आत्मा वाला है, ताकि नम्र लोगों के मन को और खेदित लोगों के हृदय को हर्षित कर सकूँ।

17 उनके लोभ के अधर्म के कारण मैं क्रोधित हुआ, और उन्हें मारा; मैं छिप गया, और क्रोध किया; परन्तु उन्होंने विद्रोह किया, और अपने मन के मार्ग पर चले।

18 मैं उनके चालचलन पर दृष्टि रखता हूँ, और उन्हें चंगा करूँगा; मैं उनका मार्गदर्शन भी करूँगा, और उन्हें और उनके शोक करनेवालों को शान्ति प्रदान करूँगा।

19 मैं होठों का फल उत्पन्न करता हूँ: यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि जो दूर हैं और जो निकट हैं, दोनों को शांति, शांति; और मैं उन्हें चंगा करूँगा।

20 परन्तु दुष्ट लोग अशांत समुद्र के समान हैं, जो शान्त नहीं हो सकता, और जिसका जल कीचड़ और धूलि को उभारता है।

 The Book of the Prophet Isaiah 57

1 The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.

2 Those who walk uprightly enter into peace and rest in their beds.

3 But come here, you children of the sorceress, you offspring of adulterers and prostitutes.

4 Whom do you mock? Against whom do you open your mouth wide and stick out your tongue? Are you not children of transgression, offspring of falsehood?

5 You burn with lust under every green tree and sacrifice your children in the ravines, in the clefts of the rocks.

6 On the smooth stones of the ravines is your portion; these are your lot; on them you pour out your drink offering and sacrifice to them. Should I be pleased with these things?

7 On high and lofty mountains you set your bed; you go up to them to offer sacrifices.

8 Behind the doors and doorposts you set up your memorials; for you uncover yourself to others more than to me, and you go up, you enlarge your bed, and you make a covenant with them; you love their bed wherever you see it.

9 You go to the king with oil and multiply your perfumes; you send your ambassadors far away, and you humble yourself even to hell.

10 On your long journey you have wearied yourself; but you do not say, “There is no hope”; what you sought you have found, therefore you do not grow weary.

11 But of whom did you have fear or dread, that you lied, and did not remember me, nor set me in your heart? Is it not because I have kept silent, and that for a long time, and you do not fear?

12 I will declare your righteousness, and your deeds, which will not profit you.

13 When you cry out, let your assembled people deliver you; but the wind will carry them all away, and vanity will snatch them away; but he who trusts in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain.

14 And it shall be said: “Level, level, prepare the way; remove the stumbling blocks from the path of my people.”

15 For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

16 For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry; for the spirit would grow faint before me, and the souls that I have made.”

17 Because of the iniquity of their covetousness I was angry, and struck them: I hid myself, and was angry; but they rebelled, followed the way of their heart.

18 I see their ways, and will heal them; I will also guide them, and restore comforts to them and to their mourners.

19 I create the fruit of the lips: peace, peace, to those who are far off, and to those who are near, says the Lord; and I will heal them.

20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, which cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

21 The wicked, says my God, have no peace.

1 Perece o justo, e não há quem considere isso em seu coração, e os homens compassivos são retirados, sem que alguém considere que o justo é levado antes do mal.

2 Entrará em paz: descansarão nas suas camas os que houverem andado na sua retidão.

3 Mas chegai-vos aqui, vós os filhos da agoureira, semente adulterina e de prostituição.

4 De quem fazeis o vosso passatempo? Contra quem escancarais a boca, e deitais para fora a língua? Porventura não sois filhos da transgressão, semente da falsidade,

5 Que vos esquentais com os ídolos debaixo de toda a árvore verde, e sacrificais os filhos nos ribeiros, nas aberturas dos penhascos?

6 Nas pedras lisas dos ribeiros está a tua parte; estas são a tua sorte; sobre elas também derramas a tua libação, e lhes ofereces ofertas: Contentar-me-ia eu destas coisas?

7 Sobre os montes altos e levantados pões a tua cama; e a eles sobes para oferecer sacrifícios.

8 E detrás das portas e das umbreiras pões os teus memoriais; porque a outros mais do que a mim te descobres, e sobes, alargas a tua cama, e fazes concerto com eles; amas a sua cama, onde quer que a vês.

9 E vais ao rei com óleo e multiplicas os teus perfumes; e envias os teus embaixadores para longe, e te abates até aos infernos.

10 Na tua comprida viagem te cansaste; mas não dizes: Não há esperança; o que buscavas achaste, por isso não adoeces.

11 Mas de quem tiveste receio ou temor, para que mentisses, e não te lembrasses de mim, nem no teu coração me pusesses? Não é porventura porque eu me calo, e isso já desde muito tempo, e não temes?

12 Eu publicarei a tua justiça, e as tuas obras, que não te aproveitarão.

13 Quando clamares, livrem-te os teus congregados; mas o vento a todos levará, e a vaidade os arrebatará: mas o que confia em mim possuirá a terra, e herdará o meu santo monte.

14 E dir-se-á: Aplanai, aplanai, preparai o caminho: tirai os tropeços do caminho do meu povo.

15 Porque assim diz o alto e o sublime, que habita na eternidade, e cujo nome é santo: Num alto e santo lugar habito, e também com o contrito e abatido de espírito, para vivificar o espírito dos abatidos, e para vivificar o coração dos contritos.

16 Porque para sempre não contenderei, nem continuamente me indignarei; porque o espírito perante a minha face se enfraqueceria, e as almas que eu fiz.

17 Pela iniqüidade da sua avareza me indignei, e os feri: escondi-me, e indignei-me; mas, rebeldes, seguiram o caminho do seu coração.

18 Eu vejo os seus caminhos, e os sararei; também os guiarei, e lhes tornarei a dar consolações e aos seus pranteadores.

19 Eu crio os frutos dos lábios: paz, paz, para os que estão longe, e para os que estão perto, diz o Senhor, e eu os sararei.

20 Mas os ímpios são como o mar bravo que se não pode aquietar, e cujas águas lançam de si lama e lodo.

21 Os ímpios, diz o meu Deus, não têm paz.

8 इस्राएल के बिखरे हुए लोगों को इकट्ठा करने वाला प्रभु परमेश्वर यों कहता है: मैं उन लोगों के साथ और भी लोगों को इकट्ठा करूँगा जो उसके पास पहले से ही इकट्ठे हैं।

9 हे मैदान के सब पशुओं, हे जंगल के सब जंगली जानवरों, आओ और खा जाओ!

10 उनके सब पहरेदार अंधे हैं, वे सब अज्ञानी हैं; वे सब गूंगे कुत्ते हैं, वे भौंक नहीं सकते; वे सोए पड़े हैं, वे सो रहे हैं, उन्हें सोना अच्छा लगता है।

11 ये कुत्ते लालची हैं, इनका पेट कभी नहीं भरता; ये ऐसे चरवाहे हैं जिनमें समझ नहीं है; ये सब अपने-अपने रास्ते चलते हैं, हर एक अपने-अपने लाभ के लिए, हर एक अपने-अपने लाभ के लिए।

12 वे कहते हैं, “आओ, हम दाखमधु लें, हम जी भरकर मदिरा पिएँ; और कल का दिन आज के दिन जैसा ही होगा, केवल महान और अधिक गौरवशाली।”
