मसीहा का राज्य शांतिपूर्ण और समृद्ध है

1 क्योंकि यिशै के ठूँठ से एक अंकुर फूटेगा, और उसकी जड़ों से एक शाखा फूटेगी।

2 और प्रभु की आत्मा उस पर निवास करेगी—बुद्धि और समझ की आत्मा, युक्ति और पराक्रम की आत्मा, ज्ञान और प्रभु के भय की आत्मा।

3 वह प्रभु के भय से प्रसन्न होगा। वह आँखों देखी न्याय न करेगा, न कानों सुनी डाँट लगाएगा।

4 परन्तु वह कंगालों का न्याय धर्म से, और पृथ्वी के नम्र लोगों को न्याय से डाँटेगा। वह अपने वचन के सोंटे से पृथ्वी पर प्रहार करेगा, और अपने होठों की साँस से दुष्टों को मार डालेगा।

5 और धर्म उसकी कमर का फेंटा होगा, और विश्वास उसकी कमर का फेंटा होगा। 

6 और भेड़िया मेम्ने के संग रहा करेगा, और चीता बकरी के बच्चे के साथ लेटेगा, और बछड़ा, जवान सिंह और भेड़ी तीनों इकट्ठे रहेंगे, और एक छोटा बालक उनकी अगुवाई करेगा।

7 गाय और रीछनी चरेंगी, और उनके बच्चे इकट्ठे लेटेंगे; और सिंह बैल की नाईं भूसा खाएगा।

8 और दूधपिउवा बच्चा नाग के बिल पर खेलेगा, और दूध छुड़ाया हुआ बच्चा नाग के बिल पर हाथ रखेगा।

9 मेरे सारे पवित्र पर्वत पर न तो कोई हानि पहुँचाएगा और न कोई हानि करेगा, क्योंकि पृथ्वी यहोवा के ज्ञान से ऐसी भर जाएगी जैसे जल समुद्र में भरा रहता है।

10 और उस दिन जाति-जाति के लोग यिशै की जड़ माँगेंगे, जो देश-देश के लोगों के लिये ध्वजा ठहरता है, और उसका विश्रामस्थान महिमामय होगा। 

11 क्योंकि उस दिन यहोवा अपनी प्रजा के बचे हुओं को, जो अश्शूर, मिस्र, पत्रोस, कूश, एलाम, शिनार, हमात और समुद्र के द्वीपों से बचे हुए हैं, छुड़ाने के लिए दूसरी बार अपना हाथ बढ़ाएगा।

12 और वह जाति-जाति के लिये झण्डा खड़ा करेगा, और इस्राएल के निकाले हुओं को इकट्ठा करेगा, और पृथ्वी की चारों दिशाओं से यहूदा के बिखरे हुओं को इकट्ठा करेगा।

13 और एप्रैम की डाह दूर हो जाएगी, और यहूदा के शत्रु नाश हो जाएँगे। एप्रैम यहूदा से डाह न करेगा, और यहूदा एप्रैम पर अन्धेर न करेगा।

14 परन्तु वे पलिश्तियों के कंधों पर सवार होकर पश्चिम की ओर दौड़ेंगे; वे पूर्व के लोगों को एक साथ लूटेंगे; वे एदोम और मोआब पर हाथ रखेंगे, और अम्मोन के लोग उनकी आज्ञा मानेंगे। 

15 और यहोवा मिस्र के समुद्र को पूरी तरह से नष्ट कर देगा, और महानद के विरुद्ध अपना हाथ प्रचण्ड आँधी चलाएगा, और उसे प्रहार करेगा, और उसे सात धाराओं में विभाजित करेगा, जिन्हें कोई जूतों के सहारे पार कर सकेगा।

The Kingdom of the Messiah is Peaceful and Prosperous

1 For a shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse, and a Branch will grow from his roots.

2 And the Spirit of the Lord will rest upon him—the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

3 He will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what his eyes see, nor reprove by what his ears hear.

4 But with righteousness he will judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.

5 And righteousness will be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his waist. 

6 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the kid, and the calf and the young lion and the ewe together, and a little child will lead them.

7 The cow and the bear will graze, and their young will lie down together; and the lion will eat straw like the ox.

8 And the nursing child will play on the cobra's den, and the weaned child will put his hand on the adder's den.

9 They will not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

10 And it will come to pass in that day that the nations will ask for the root of Jesse, who stands as an ensign for the peoples, and his resting place will be glorious. 

11 For it will come to pass in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, who are left from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Ethiopia, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and the islands of the sea.

12 And he will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

13 And the envy of Ephraim will be driven away, and the adversaries of Judah will be cut off. Ephraim will not envy Judah, and Judah will not oppress Ephraim.

14 But they will fly on the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they will plunder the people of the east together; they will lay their hands on Edom and Moab, and the people of Ammon will obey them. 

15 And the Lord will utterly destroy the sea of ​​Egypt, and will shake his hand against the river with a mighty wind, and will strike it, dividing it into seven streams, which one may cross with shoes. 

16 And there will be a highway for the remnant of his people, who are left from Assyria, as was the case for Israel on the day they came up out of the land of Egypt.

1 Porque brotará um rebento do tronco de Jessé, e das suas raízes um renovo frutificará.

2 E repousará sobre ele o espírito do Senhor, o espírito de sabedoria e de inteligência, o espírito de conselho e de fortaleza, o espírito de conhecimento e de temor do Senhor.

3 E deleitar-se-á no temor do Senhor: e não julgará segundo a vista dos seus olhos, nem repreenderá segundo o ouvir dos seus ouvidos;

4 Mas julgará com justiça os pobres, e repreenderá com equidade os mansos da terra, e ferirá a terra com a vara de sua boca, e com o sopro dos seus lábios matará o ímpio.

5 E a justiça será o cinto dos seus lombos, e a verdade o cinto dos seus rins.

6 E morará o lobo com o cordeiro, e o leopardo com o cabrito se deitará, e o bezerro, e o filho de leão e a nédia ovelha viverão juntos, e um menino pequeno os guiará.

7 A vaca e a ursa pastarão juntas, e seus filhos juntos se deitarão; e o leão comerá palha como o boi.

8 E brincará a criança de peito sobre a toca do áspide, e o já desmamado meterá a sua mão na cova do basilisco.

9 Não se fará mal nem dano algum em todo o monte da minha santidade, porque a terra se encherá do conhecimento do Senhor, como as águas cobrem o mar.

10 E acontecerá naquele dia que as nações perguntarão pela raiz de Jessé, posta por pendão dos povos, e o lugar do seu repouso será glorioso.

11 Porque há de acontecer naquele dia que o Senhor tornará a estender a sua mão para adquirir outra vez os resíduos do seu povo, que restarem da Assíria, e do Egito, e de Patros, e da Etiópia, e de Elão, e de Sinar, e de Hamate, e das ilhas do mar.

12 E levantará um pendão entre as nações, e ajuntará os desterrados de Israel, e os dispersos de Judá congregará desde os quatro confins da terra.

13 E desterrar-se-á a inveja de Efraim, e os adversários de Judá serão desarraigados: Efraim não invejará a Judá e Judá não oprimirá a Efraim.

14 Antes voarão sobre os ombros dos filisteus ao Ocidente; juntos despojarão os filhos do Oriente: em Edom e Moabe porão as suas mãos, e os filhos de Amom lhes obedecerão.

15 E o Senhor destruirá totalmente o braço de mar do Egito, e moverá a sua mão contra o rio com a força do seu vento, e, ferindo-o, dividi-lo-á em sete correntes, que qualquer atravessará com sapatos.

16 E haverá caminho plano para os resíduos do seu povo, que restarem da Assíria, como sucedeu a Israel no dia em que subiu da terra do Egito.

5 अश्शूर पर हाय! मेरे क्रोध की लाठी, क्योंकि मेरा क्रोध उसके हाथ में लाठी के समान है।

6 मैं उसे एक कपटी राष्ट्र के विरुद्ध भेजूँगा, और अपने क्रोध के लोगों के विरुद्ध मैं उसे आज्ञा दूँगा कि वह उनका शिकार पकड़ ले, उनकी लूट ले, और उन्हें सड़कों की कीचड़ की तरह रौंद डाले।

7 यद्यपि वह ऐसा नहीं चाहता, न ही उसका मन इसकी कल्पना करता है, परन्तु वह अपने मन में अनेक राष्ट्रों को नष्ट करने और जड़ से उखाड़ने की योजना बनाता है।

8 क्योंकि वह कहता है, "क्या मेरे सब हाकिम राजा नहीं हैं?"

9 क्या कलनो कर्कमीश के समान नहीं है? क्या हमात अर्पाद के समान नहीं है? और सामरिया दमिश्क के समान नहीं है?

16 इसलिए सेनाओं का यहोवा, यहोवा, उनके हृष्ट-पुष्ट लोगों को सुखा देगा, और अपनी महिमा के नीचे वह आग की लपटों के समान आग जलाएगा।

17 क्योंकि इस्राएल का प्रकाश आग के समान और उसका पवित्र जन ज्वाला के समान होगा, जो उसके कंटीले तारों और ऊँटकटारों को एक ही दिन में भस्म कर देगा।

20 और उस दिन ऐसा होगा कि इस्राएल के बचे हुए लोग और याकूब के घराने के बचे हुए लोग फिर उस पर भरोसा न रखेंगे जिसने उन्हें मारा, परन्तु सच्चाई से इस्राएल के पवित्र यहोवा पर भरोसा रखेंगे।

 21 बचे हुए लोग, अर्थात् याकूब के बचे हुए लोग, पराक्रमी परमेश्वर के पास लौट आएंगे।

22 क्योंकि हे इस्राएल, चाहे तेरी प्रजा समुद्र की बालू के समान भी हो, तौभी उसका एक भाग ही लौटेगा; विनाश तो ठहरा हुआ है, और न्याय से भरपूर है।

23 क्योंकि विनाश ठहरा हुआ है, और सेनाओं का प्रभु यहोवा उसे सारे देश में करेगा।

24 इसलिये सेनाओं का प्रभु यहोवा यों कहता है: हे सिय्योन में रहनेवाली मेरी प्रजा, हे अश्शूर, जब वह तुम्हें सोंटे से मारे और मिस्रियों के समान तुम्हारे विरुद्ध अपनी लाठी उठाए, तब मत डरो।

25 क्योंकि अब बहुत थोड़े समय के भीतर मेरा क्रोध और कोप उन्हें भस्म करने के लिये पूरा होगा।

26 क्योंकि सेनाओं का यहोवा उनके विरुद्ध कोड़ा उठाएगा, जैसे ओरेब नाम चट्टान पर मिद्यानियों का संहार, और समुद्र पर उसकी लाठी के समान, जो उन पर वैसे ही उठेगी जैसे मिस्रियों पर उठी थी।

 27 और उस दिन ऐसा होगा कि उसका बोझ तेरे कंधे से और उसका जूआ तेरी गर्दन से उतार दिया जाएगा, और अभिषेक के कारण जूआ तोड़ दिया जाएगा।

28 वह अय्यात में आएगा, वह मिग्रोन से होकर जाएगा, और अपना सामान मिकमाश में डाल देगा।

29 वह होकर जाएगा, वह गेबा में टिकेगा; रामा कांप उठेगा, और शाऊल का गिबा भाग जाएगा।

5 Woe to Assyria! The rod of my anger, for my wrath is like a staff in his hand.

6 I will send him against a hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath I will command him to seize their prey, to take their spoil, and to trample them underfoot like the mire of the streets.

7 Though he does not intend it, nor does his heart imagine it, but in his heart he plans to destroy and uproot nations not a few.

8 For he says, "Are not all my princes kings?"

9 Is not Calno like Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad? And Samaria like Damascus?

10 My hand has reached the kingdoms of the idols, though their carved images were better than those of Jerusalem and Samaria.

11 As I did to Samaria and her idols, shall I not do to Jerusalem and her idols?

12 Therefore, when the Lord has finished all his work on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the pomp of his lofty looks.

13 For I said, "By the strength of my hand I have done this, and by my wisdom, for I have understanding; I have removed the boundaries of the peoples, and spoiled their treasures, and like a mighty man I have brought down those who sat on thrones."

14 My hand has found the wealth of the peoples like a nest, and as abandoned eggs are gathered together, so I have gathered all the earth; yet no one has moved his wing, or opened his mouth, or murmured.

15 Should the axe boast against him who cuts with it? Or will the saw boast against those who pull it? As if a staff moved those who lift it, or a rod lifted up what was not wood!

16 Therefore the Lord, the Lord of hosts, will cause those who are fat among them to wither, and under his glory he will kindle a fire like a blaze of fire.

17 For the Light of Israel will be like a fire, and his Holy One like a flame, consuming and consuming his thorns and his briers in one day.

18 He will also consume the glory of his forest, and his fruitful field, from soul to body; it will be as when a standard-bearer faints.

19 And the remnant of the trees of his forest will be so few that a child can count them.

20 And it will come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and the escaped of the house of Jacob, will no longer lean on him who struck them, but will lean on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. 21 The remnant will return, even the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.

22 For though your people, O Israel, are like the sand of the sea, only a remnant will return; destruction is determined, overflowing with justice.

23 For destruction is determined, and the Lord GOD of Hosts will execute it in the midst of the whole land.

24 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD of Hosts: Do not be afraid, my people who dwell in Zion, of Assyria, when he strikes you with a rod and lifts his staff against you like the Egyptians.

25 For yet a very little while, my indignation and my anger will be accomplished to consume them.

26 For the Lord of Hosts will stir up a scourge against them, like the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb, and like his rod over the sea, which will rise against them, as it did against the Egyptians. 

27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck: and the yoke shall be broken because of the anointing.

28 He shall come to Aiath, he shall pass through Migron, and shall cast his baggage at Michmash.

29 He shall pass through, he shall lodge at Geba; Ramah shall tremble, and Gibeah of Saul shall flee.

30 Cry aloud with your voice, O daughters of Gallim! Hear, O Laish! O poor Anathoth!

31 Madmenah shall be gone; the inhabitants of Gebim shall flee in droves.

32 This very day he shall stop at Nob; he shall wave his hand at the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem. 

33 But behold, the Lord GOD of hosts will lop the branches with violence, and the tall ones will be cut down, and the lofty ones will be brought low. 

34 He will cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon will fall by the hand of a mighty man.

5 Ai da Assíria! A vara da minha ira: porque a minha indignação é como bordão nas suas mãos.

6 Enviá-lo-ei contra uma nação hipócrita, e contra o povo do meu furor lhe darei ordem, para que lhe roube a presa, e lhe tome o despojo, e o ponha para ser pisado aos pés, como a lama das ruas:

7 Ainda que ele não cuide assim, nem o seu coração assim o imagine: antes no seu coração intenta destruir e desarraigar não poucas nações.

8 Porque diz: Não são meus príncipes todos eles reis?

9 Não é Calno como Carquêmis? Não é Hamate como Arpade? E Samaria como Damasco?

10 A minha mão alcançou os reinos dos ídolos, ainda que as suas imagens de escultura eram melhores do que as de Jerusalém e do que as de Samaria.

11 Porventura como fiz a Samaria e aos seus ídolos, não o faria igualmente a Jerusalém e aos seus ídolos?

12 Por isso acontecerá que, havendo o Senhor acabado toda a sua obra no monte de Sião e em Jerusalém, então visitarei o fruto do arrogante coração do rei da Assíria e a pompa da altivez dos seus olhos.

13 Porquanto disse: Com a força da minha mão fiz isto, e com a minha sabedoria, porque sou entendido: eu removi os limites dos povos, e roubei os seus tesouros, e como valente abati aos que se sentavam sobre tronos.

14 E achou a minha mão as riquezas dos povos como a um ninho, e como se ajuntam os ovos abandonados, assim eu ajuntei toda a terra: e não houve quem movesse a asa, ou abrisse a boca, ou murmurasse.

15 Porventura gloriar-se-á o machado contra o que corta com ele? Ou presumirá a serra contra os que puxa por ela? Como se o bordão movesse aos que o levantam, ou a vara levantasse o que não é pau!

16 Pelo que o Senhor, o Senhor dos Exércitos, fará definhar os que entre eles são gordos, e debaixo da sua glória ateará um incêndio, como incêndio de fogo.

17 Porque a Luz de Israel virá a ser como fogo e o seu Santo como labareda, que abrase e consuma os seus espinheiros e as suas sarças num dia.

18 Também consumirá a glória da sua floresta, e do seu campo fértil desde a alma até ao corpo: e será como quando desmaia o porta bandeira.

19 E o resto das árvores da sua floresta será tão pouco que um menino as poderá contar.

20 E acontecerá naquele dia que os resíduos de Israel, e os escapados da casa de Jacó, nunca mais se estribarão sobre o que os feriu: antes se estribarão sobre o Senhor, o Santo de Israel, em verdade.

21 Os resíduos se converterão, sim, os resíduos de Jacó, ao Deus forte.

22 Porque ainda que o teu povo, ó Israel, seja como a areia do mar, só um resto se converterá: uma destruição está determinada, transbordando de justiça.

23 Porque determinada já a destruição, o Senhor Jeová dos Exércitos a executará no meio de toda esta terra.

24 Pelo que assim diz o Senhor Jeová dos Exércitos: Não temas, povo meu, que habitas em Sião, a Assíria, quando te ferir com a vara, e contra ti levantar o seu bordão à maneira dos egípcios;

25 Porque daqui a bem pouco se cumprirá a minha indignação, e a minha ira, para os consumir.

26 Porque o Senhor dos Exércitos suscitará contra ele um flagelo, como a matança de Midiã junto à rocha de Orebe, e como a sua vara sobre o mar, que contra ele se levantará, como sucedeu aos egípcios.

27 E acontecerá naquele dia, que a sua carga será tirada do teu ombro, e o seu jugo do teu pescoço: e o jugo será despedaçado por causa da unção.

28 Já vem chegando a Aiate, já vai passando por Migrom, e em Micmas lança a sua bagagem.

29 Já vão passando, já se alojam em Geba; já Ramá treme, e Gibéa de Saul vai fugindo.

30 Clama alto com a tua voz, ó filhas de Galim! Ouve ó Laís! Ó tu pobre Anatote!

31 Já Madmena se foi; os moradores de Gebim vão fugindo em bandos.

32 Neste mesmo dia parará em Nobe: acenará com a sua mão ao monte da filha de Sião, o outeiro de Jerusalém.

33 Mas eis que o Senhor Jeová dos Exércitos desbastará os ramos com violência, e os de alta estatura serão cortados, e os altivos serão abatidos.

34 E cortará com o ferro a espessura da floresta, e o Líbano cairá pela mão de um poderoso.

10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will rebuild them with hewn stones; the sycamore trees are cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.

12 The Syrians will come before him, and the Philistines behind him, and they will devour Israel with open mouths. Yet for all this his anger has not turned away, but his hand is still stretched out.

13 Yet this people has not turned back to those who struck them, nor sought the Lord of hosts. 

14 Therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.

15 (The elder and the honorable man are the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail.)

16 For the leaders of this people are deceitful, and those who are led by them are devoured.

17 Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, nor will he have compassion on their orphans and widows, for they are all hypocrites and evildoers, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

18 For wickedness rages like a fire; it devours briers and thorns; it will kindle in the thicket of the forest; thick clouds of smoke will rise on high.

19 Because of the wrath of the Lord of hosts, the land will be darkened, and the people will be like fuel for the fire; no one will spare his brother.

20 If he cuts off the left side, they will not be satisfied; each will eat the flesh of his own arm:

10 Take counsel together, and it will be destroyed; speak the word, and it will not stand, for God is with us.

11 For thus the Lord spoke to me with a strong hand, and taught me not to walk in the way of this people, saying:

13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

14 Then he will be your sanctuary; but he will be a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense to both houses of Israel, a snare and a net to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

15 And many of them will stumble and fall, and will be broken, and snared, and taken.

16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples. 

17 And I will wait for the Lord, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and for him I will hope.

1 यहूदा के राजा उज्जिय्याह के पुत्र योताम के पुत्र आहाज के दिनों में, अराम के राजा रसीन और इस्राएल के राजा रमल्याह के पुत्र पेकह यरूशलेम से युद्ध करने के लिए गए, परन्तु वे ऐसा न कर सके।

2 और उन्होंने दाऊद के घराने को यह समाचार दिया, "अरब ने एप्रैम के साथ वाचा बाँध ली है।" तब दाऊद और उसकी प्रजा का हृदय काँप उठा, जैसे वन के वृक्ष आँधी से काँप उठते हैं।

3 तब यहोवा ने यशायाह से कहा, "अब तू और तेरा पुत्र शार्याशूब धोबी के खेत की ओर जाने वाले मार्ग से ऊपरी पोखरे की नाली के सिरे पर आहाज से मिलने जा।"

4 और उसने उससे कहा, "सावधान और शान्त रह; इन दो धुआँ उगलती लकड़ियों से, अर्थात् रसीन और अराम और रमल्याह के पुत्र के भड़के हुए कोप से मत डर, और न तेरा मन कच्चा हो।

5 क्योंकि अराम ने एप्रैम और रमल्याह के पुत्र के साथ मिलकर तेरे विरुद्ध बुरी युक्ति की है, और कहा है,

6 "आओ, हम यहूदा पर चढ़ाई करें, और उसे सताएँ, और उसे आपस में बाँट लें, और उसके बीच ताबेल के पुत्र को राजा बनाएँ।"

7 परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है: यह बात न तो स्थिर रहेगी, न पूरी होगी।

8 परन्तु अराम का प्रधान दमिश्क होगा, और दमिश्क का प्रधान रसीन। और पैंसठ वर्ष के भीतर एप्रैम नष्ट हो जाएगा, और उसकी प्रजा मिट जाएगी।

9 परन्तु एप्रैम का प्रधान शोमरोन होगा, और शोमरोन का प्रधान रमल्याह का पुत्र होगा। यदि तू विश्वास न करे, तो तू स्थिर न रह सकेगा। 

10 तब यहोवा ने आहाज से कहा, कह रहा है,

11 अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा से कोई चिन्ह मांगो; चाहे धरती पर या धरती पर।

12 परन्तु आहाज ने कहा, "मैं न मांगूंगा, न यहोवा की परीक्षा लूंगा।"

13 तब उसने कहा, "हे दाऊद के घराने, सुनो: क्या मनुष्यों को थका देना तुम्हारे लिए छोटी बात है? क्या तुम मेरे परमेश्वर को भी थका दोगे?

14 इसलिए यहोवा स्वयं तुम्हें एक चिन्ह देगा: देखो, एक कुंवारी गर्भवती होगी और एक पुत्र को जन्म देगी, और उसका नाम इम्मानुएल रखेगी।

15 वह तब तक मक्खन और शहद खाएगा जब तक वह बुराई को ठुकराना और भलाई को चुनना न जान ले।

16 वास्तव में, इससे पहले कि बच्चा बुराई को ठुकराना और भलाई को चुनना सीखे, जिस देश से तुम घृणा करते हो, उसके दो राजा त्याग दिए जाएँगे।

17 परन्तु यहोवा अश्शूर के राजा के द्वारा तुम पर, तुम्हारी प्रजा पर, और तुम्हारे पिता के घराने पर ऐसे दिन लाएगा जैसे उस दिन से नहीं आए जब से एप्रैम ने खुद को यहूदा से अलग कर लिया था।

18 क्योंकि उस दिन यहोवा मिस्र की नदियों के छोर पर रहने वाली मक्खियों और अश्शूर देश में झुंड में रहने वाली मधुमक्खियों पर सीटी बजाएगा।

19 और वे सब आकर बंजर घाटियों में, चट्टानों की दरारों में, सब कंटीली झाड़ियों पर, और सब जंगलों में बसेरा करेंगी।

20 उस दिन यहोवा नदी के उस पार, अर्थात् अश्शूर के राजा के साथ, भाड़े के उस्तरे से सिर और पाँव के बाल मुँड़वाएगा, और दाढ़ी भी पूरी तरह से नोच डालेगा।

21 और उस दिन ऐसा होगा कि एक आदमी एक गाय और दो भेड़ें पालेगा।

22 और ऐसा होगा कि उनके बहुत दूध देने के कारण वह मक्खन खाएगा; और देश में जितने लोग बचे रहेंगे वे मक्खन और शहद खाएँगे।

23 और उस दिन ऐसा होगा कि हर जगह जहाँ चाँदी के हज़ार टुकड़ों की हज़ार दाखलताएँ थीं, वहाँ कटीले पेड़ उग आएँगे।

24 लोग धनुष-बाण लेकर उसमें प्रवेश करेंगे, क्योंकि कटीले पेड़ सारी ज़मीन को ढक लेंगे।

25 और उन सभी पहाड़ियों पर भी जो कुदाल से खोदी जाती थीं, कोई भी कटीले पेड़ों के डर से नहीं जाएगा; बल्कि वे मवेशियों को हाँकने और भेड़ों को रौंदने के लिए इस्तेमाल की जाएँगी।

Prophecies against Israel and Syria. Manasseh against Judah

1 Now it came to pass in the days of Ahaz son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel went up to Jerusalem to fight against it, but they were unable to do so.

2 And they told the house of David, saying, "Arabia has made a league with Ephraim." Then his heart shook, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are shaken by the wind.

3 Then the Lord said to Isaiah, "Now you and Shear-jashub your son go out to meet Ahaz at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, by the road to the fuller's field."

4 And he said to him, "Take heed and be still; Do not be afraid, nor let your heart be discouraged because of these two pieces of smoking firebrands, because of the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria and the son of Remaliah.

5 For Syria, together with Ephraim and the son of Remaliah, has taken evil counsel against you, saying,

6 "Let us go up against Judah and torment it, and let us divide it among ourselves, and let us make the son of Tabeal king in its midst."

7 Thus says the Lord God: This shall not stand, nor shall it come to pass.

8 But the head of Syria shall be Damascus, and the head of Damascus Rezin. And within sixty-five years Ephraim shall be shattered, and shall cease to be a people.

9 But the head of Ephraim shall be Samaria, and the head of Samaria the son of Remaliah. If you do not believe, you shall not be established. 

10 Then the Lord spoke to Ahaz, saying,

11 Ask the Lord your God for a sign; ask it either in the depths below or in the heights above.

12 But Ahaz said, "I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord."

13 Then he said, "Hear now, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also?

14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

15 He shall eat butter and honey until he knows to refuse evil and choose good.

16 Indeed, before the child knows to refuse evil and choose good, the land that you hate will be forsaken of its two kings.

17 But the Lord will bring upon you, and upon your people, and upon your father's house, by the king of Assyria, days such as have not come since the day that Ephraim separated himself from Judah.

18 For it will come to pass in that day that the Lord will hiss at the flies that are in the uttermost parts of the rivers of Egypt, and at the bees that swarm in the land of Assyria;

19 And they will come and settle all of them in the waste valleys, in the clefts of the rocks, and on all thorns, and in all the forests.

20 On that day the Lord will shave with a razor hired beyond the river, that is, with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet, and he will even take away the beard completely.

21 And it will come to pass in that day that a man will keep a cow and two sheep.

22 And it will come to pass that because of the abundance of milk which they will give, he will eat butter; and everyone who is left in the land will eat butter and honey.

23 And it will come to pass in that day that every place where there were a thousand vines worth a thousand pieces of silver will become briers and thorns.

24 With bows and arrows people will enter it, because briers and thorns will cover the whole land.

25 And also to all the hills that are used to be dug with a mattock, no one will go because of the fear of briers and thorns; but they will be used for cattle to be driven there and for sheep to trample.
