Inhabitants of Jerusalem after the Return from Captivity

1 And all Israel were reckoned by genealogies: behold, they are in the book of the kings of Israel: and the children of Judah were carried away to Babylon because of their transgression.

2 And the first inhabitants, who dwelt in their possessions and in their cities, were the children of Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim.

3 But of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim, and of Manasseh, the following dwelt in Jerusalem:

4 Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Perez the son of Judah;

5 And of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons;

6 And the children of Zerah, Jeuel, and his brethren, six hundred and ninety; 

7 And of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah; 

8 And Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Micri, and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah; 

9 And their brethren, according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty and six; all these men were heads of the fathers' houses in their fathers' houses. 

10 And of the priests: Jedaiah, and Jehoirib, and Jachin,

14 And of the Levites; Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari; 

15 And Bakkabar, Heresh, and Galal; and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;

 16 And Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.

 17 And the gatekeepers were Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren, whose chief was Shallum.

18 And they were on duty at the king's gate toward the east until that time: these were the gatekeepers among the camps of the sons of Levi.

19 And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren of his father's house, the Korahites, were over the work of the ministry, and were keepers of the thresholds of the tabernacle: and their fathers were captains of the camp of the LORD, and keepers of the door.

20 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar, who at one time was a ruler among them, with whom the LORD was,

21 And Zechariah the son of Meshelmiah was the gatekeeper at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 

22 All these were chosen to be doorkeepers at the thresholds, two hundred and twelve. They were listed by their villages, according to their genealogies. David and Samuel the seer appointed them in charge. 

23 They and their sons were at the gates of the house of the Lord, in the tent house, with the guards. 

24 The doorkeepers were on the four sides, east, west, north, and south. 

25 Their brothers were in their villages, and on the seventh day they came in from time to time to serve with them.

 26 For there were four chief doorkeepers in charge of the chambers and treasuries of the house of God. 

27 They were stationed around the house of God at night, because the guard was theirs, and they were responsible for opening it every morning. 

28 And some of them had charge of the vessels of the ministry, for they brought them in by number and took them out by number.

29 For there were some of them who had charge of the vessels and of all the holy vessels, and of the fine flour, and of the wine, and of the oil, and of the frankincense, and of the spice.

30 And of the sons of the priests they were the workmen in the making of the spices.

31 And Mattithiah, the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, of the Levites, was in charge of the work that was done in the pans.

32 And of the sons of the Kohathites, their brethren, there were some who had charge of the showbread, to prepare it on every Sabbath.

33 And of these also were the singers, heads of the fathers' houses among the Levites, who dwelt in the chambers without service: for it was their charge to be employed in the work day and night. 

34 These were the heads of the fathers' houses among the Levites, chief in their generations; they dwelt in Jerusalem.

 35 But in Gibeon dwelt Jeiel the father of Gibeon (his wife's name was Maacah), 

36 and his firstborn Abdon; then Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab, 

37 and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth. 

38 And Mikloth begat Simeon: and these also, over against their brethren, dwelt in Jerusalem with their brethren. 

39 And Ner begat Kish, and Kish begat Saul, and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Esh-baal.

 40 And Jonathan's son was Meribaal; and Meribaal begat Micah. 

41 And the sons of Micah were Pithon, and Melech, and Tarea.

42 And Ahaz begat Jaera; and Jaera begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begat Moza.

43 And Moza begat Binea, whose son was Rephaiah, whose son was Elasah, whose son was Ashel.

44 And Ashel had six sons; and these were his sons:names: Azrikam, and Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Asel.

1 E todo o Israel foi contado por genealogias: eis que estão no livro dos reis de Israel: e os de Judá foram transportados a Babilônia, por causa da sua transgressão.

2 E os primeiros habitadores, que moravam nas suas possessões e nas suas cidades, foram os israelitas, os sacerdotes, os levitas, e os netineus.

30 The sons of Asher were: Imnah, and Ishvah, and Ishvi, and Beriah, and Serah their sister.

31 And the sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel: he was the father of Birzavith.

32 And Heber begat Japhlet, and Shomer, and Hotham, and Shuah their sister.

33 And the sons of Japhlet: Pashak, and Bimail, and Ashvath: these were the sons of Japhlet.

34 And the sons of Shemer: Ahijah, Roegah, Jerubbah, and Aram.

35 And the sons of Helem their brother: Zophah, and Imnan, and Shelesh, and Amal.

36 The sons of Zophah: Shuah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, 

37 Bezer, Hod, Shammah, Silsha, Ithran, and Beerah. 

38 The sons of Jether: Jephunneh, Pispah, and Arah.

40 All these were the sons of Asher, heads of the fathers' houses, chosen men of valor, chief among the princes, and reckoned by genealogy in the army for war; their number was twenty-six thousand men.

9 And they were reckoned by their genealogy after their generations, heads of their fathers' houses, men of valor, twenty thousand and two hundred.

10 And the sons of Jediael were Bilham, and the sons of Bilham were Jeush, and Benjamin, and Ehud, and Chenaanam, and Zethan, and Tarshish, and Ahishahar.

11 All these sons of Jediael were heads of their fathers' houses, mighty men of valor, seventeen thousand and two hundred, who went out in the army to war.
