Ruth 03 Ruth will lie down at Boaz's feet

 Ruth 03

Ruth will lie down at Boaz's feet

1 And Naomi, her mother-in-law, said to her, "My daughter, shall I not seek rest, that you may be well?"

2 Now, is it not Boaz, with whose girls you have been, of our kindred? Behold, tonight the barley will be baked on the threshing floor.

3 So wash yourself and anoint yourself and put on your dresses and go down to the threshing floor: but do not make yourself known as a man until you have finished eating and drinking.

4 And it will be that when he lies down, you will notice the place where he lies down; then go in, and you will discover his feet, and you will lie down, and he will let you know what you must do.

5 And she said to him, Whatever you tell me, I will do.

6 Then he went to the threshing floor, and did as he was told by his mother-in-law.

7 And when Boaz had eaten and drank, and his heart was already glad, he came to lie down at the foot of a rick; then he came quietly, and discovered his feet, and lay down.

Rute 03 Rute vai deitar-se aos pés de Boaz

 Rute 03

5 E ela lhe disse: Tudo quanto me disseres, farei.

Boaz speaks to Ruth benignly

8 Then Boaz said to Ruth, Don't you hear, my daughter? you will not go to another field, nor go from here: but here you will gather with my girls:

9 Your eyes will be on the field they reap, and you will go after them; did I not give orders to the young men not to touch you? When you are thirsty, go to the pots and drink what the young men take away.

10 Then she fell on her face, and bowed to the ground: and said to him, Why have I found grace in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, being a foreigner?

11 And Boaz answered and said to her, It was well told me how much you did to your mother-in-law after the death of your husband: and you left your father and mother, and the land where you were born, and came to a people who were not did you meet.

12 The Lord reward your achievement: and your reward from the Lord God of Israel be fulfilled, under whose wings you have come to shelter.

13 And she said, I find favor in your eyes, my lord, for you have comforted me, and you have spoken to the heart of your servant, neither being I nor even one of your servants.

14 And when it was time to eat, Boaz said to him, "Come here, and eat bread, and dip your mouthful in vinegar." And she sat down beside the reapers, and he gave her toasted wheat, and she ate, and she was satisfied, and she still had plenty.

15 And when she got up with a spoon, Boaz gave orders to her young men, saying, "Even among the drawers, let it be picked up, and do not stop it."

16 And let a few handfuls fall, and let them stay, that I may reap, and do not reprove.

17 And she was beaten up in that field until late in the afternoon: and threshed what she picked up and it was almost an ephah of barley.

18 And he took it, came into the city; and his mother-in-law saw what he had caught: he also took it away and gave him what he had left after he had had enough.

19 Then his mother-in-law said, Where did you harvest today, and where did you work? Blessed is he who recognized you. And he reported to his mother-in-law with whom he had worked, and said, The name of the man I worked with today is Boaz.

20 Then Naomi said to her daughter-in-law: Blessed be the Lord, who has not yet left his beneficence to the living or the dead. More Naomi said to him, This man is our close relative, and one of our redeemers.

21 And Ruth the Moabite said, "He also said to me, 'With the young men that I have, you shall gather together until all the harvest that I have is finished.

22 And Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, Ruth, It is better, my daughter, that you go out with your girls, lest they find you in another field.

23 So he got together with the girls of Boaz, to harvest until the harvest of barley and wheat was finished; and stayed with your mother-in-law.

12 O Senhor galardoe o teu feito: e seja cumprido o teu galardão do Senhor Deus de Israel, sob cujas asas te vieste abrigar.

1 And Naomi had a relative of her husband, a brave and powerful man, from the generation of Elimelech: and his name was Boaz.

2 And Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, "Let me go to the field, and I will pick ears after the one in whose eyes I find grace." And she said to him: Go, my daughter.

3 So he came and got ears of corn in the field after the reapers: and a part of the field of Boaz, which belonged to the generation of Elimelech, fell into his lot.

4 And behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, The Lord be with you. And they said to him, The Lord bless you.

5 Then Boaz said to his young man, who was standing on the reapers, Whose girl is this?

6 And the young man, who was on the reapers, answered and said, This is the Moabite girl who returned with Naomi from the fields of Moab.

7 She said to me, Let me pick ears, and gather them between the sheaves after the mowers. So she came, and since the morning she has been here until now, unless she was sitting at home.

16 लेकिन रूत ने कहा, मुझे तुम से छोड़ने का आग्रह न करो, और मुझे तुमसे दूर रखो। जहां भी तुम जाओगे, मैं जाऊंगा, और रात को तुम जहां भी उतरोगे, वहां मैं उतरूंगा; तुम्हारे लोग मेरे लोग हैं, तुम्हारा भगवान मेरा भगवान है;

Ruth 01 Naomi and her daughters-in-law Orfa and Ruth

 Ruth 01

Naomi and her daughters-in-law Orfa and Ruth

1 And it came to pass that in the days when the judges judged, there was a famine in the land: so a man from Bethlehem of Judah went out to wander in the fields of Moab, he and his wife, and their two sons.

2 And the name of this man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Noemi, and the names of his sons Malom and Chiliom, the Ephrathites, from Bethlehem of Judah:

3 And Elimelech, Naomi's husband, died; and she stayed with her two children.

4 Who took Moabite women for themselves; and it was the name of one Orfa, and the name of the other Ruth, and they stayed there for almost ten years.

5 And both Malom and Chiliom also died, so this woman was left helpless by her two sons and her husband.

6 Then she arose with her daughters-in-law, and returned from the fields of Moab: for in the land of Moab she heard that the Lord had visited his people, giving them bread.

7 So she left the place where she had been, and her two daughters-in-law with her. And as they went on their way, to return to the land of Judah.

8 Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law: Go, return each to your mother's house; and may the Lord use you with kindness, as you have used the dead and me.

9 The Lord give you to find rest each in your husband's house. And when she kissed them, they raised their voices and wept.

10 And they said to him, Surely we will return to your people with you.

11 But Naomi said, Return, my daughters, why would you go with me? Do I still have more children in my womb, to be your husband?

12 Become my daughters, go away, I am too old to have a husband: even when I say: I have hope, or that tonight I would have a husband and still have children,

13 Would you wait until they were big? Will you stop for them without taking a husband? No, my daughters, what more bitter is me than yourselves; because the hand of the Lord was discharged against me.

14 Then they lifted up their voices, and wept again: and Orpah kissed his mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.

15 So he said, "Behold, your sister-in-law has returned to her people and to their gods; you also return after your sister-in-law."

16 But Ruth said, Do not urge me to leave you, and keep me away from you. For wherever you go I will go, and wherever you land at night I will land; your people are my people, your God is my God;

17 Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried: let the Lord do this to me, and so on, if anything other than death separates me from you.

18 When she saw that she was determined to go with her, she stopped talking about it.

19 So they both left, until they came to Bethlehem: and it came to pass, as they entered Bethlehem, that the whole city was moved by them, and they said, Isn't this Naomi?

20 But she said to them, Do not call me Naomi; call me Mara, because the Almighty has given me great bitterness.

21 I left full, but empty the Lord made me return: why should I call myself Naomi? for the Lord testifies against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me so much.

22 So Naomi returned, and Ruth with her the daughter-in-law, Moabite, who was returning from the fields of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem at the beginning of the barley harvest.

Rute 01 Noemi e suas noras Orfa e Rute

 Rute 01

16 Disse porém Rute: Não me instes para que te deixe, e me afaste de ao pé de ti. Porque aonde quer que tu fores irei eu, e onde quer que pousares à noite ali pousarei eu; o teu povo é o meu povo, o teu Deus é o meu Deus;

Judges 21 Four hundred women are given to the Benjaminites

 Judges 21

Four hundred women are given to the Benjaminites

13 Then the whole assembly sent and spoke to the sons of Benjamin, who were in the rock of Rimmon, and proclaimed peace to them.

14 And at the same time the Benjaminites returned; and they gave them the women they had kept alive, from the women of Jabes of Gilead: but these were not yet enough for them.

15 Then the people repented because of Benjamin: because the Lord had made an opening in the tribes of Israel.

16 And the elders of the gathering said, What shall we do about women for those who have remained, for the women of Benjamin are destroyed?

17 They said more: The inheritance of those who are left is from Benjamin, and no tribe of Israel should be destroyed.

18 But we will not be able to give them wives of our daughters, because the children of Israel have sworn, saying, Cursed be he who gives a wife to Benjamin.

19 Then they said, "Behold, from year to year there is a solemnity of the Lord in Shiloh, which is celebrated to the north of Bethel, on the side of the rising sun, by the high road that goes up from Bethel to Shechem, and to the south of Lebona.

20 And they sent to the sons of Benjamin, saying, Go, and ambush yourselves in the vineyards.

21 And look, and, behold, the daughters of Silo went out dancing on ranches, and you came out of the vineyards, and snatch each woman from the daughters of Silo, and go to the land of Benjamin.

22 And will it be that when your parents or your brothers come to litigate with us, we will say to them: For our sake, have compassion on them, for in this war we do not take women for each one of them: because you did not give them to them, so that you would now remain guilty.

23 And the sons of Benjamin did so, and took women according to their number, of those who snatched from the dancing ranches: and they went away, and returned to the cities, and dwelt in them.

24 Then the children of Israel also left there, each for their own tribe and for their generation: and they left there, each for their inheritance.

25 In those days there was no king in Israel: but each one did what seemed right in his eyes.

Judges 21 The ruin of Jabes of Gilead

 Judges 21

The ruin of Jabes of Gilead

1 Now the men of Israel swore in Mizpah, saying, None of us will give his daughter to Benjamin to wife.

2 So the people came to Bethel, and they stayed there until evening before God: and they lifted up their voices, and did silver with great weeping.

3 And they said, Ah! Lord God of Israel, why did this happen in Israel, that today there is no tribe in Israel?

4 And it came to pass that the next morning the people arose and built an altar there; and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.

5 And the children of Israel said, Who of all the tribes of Israel did not go up to the gathering to the Lord? Because a great oath had been made about those who did not come to Mizpah to the Lord, saying: He will surely die.

6 And the children of Israel repented of their brother Benjamin, and said, Cut off is a tribe of Israel today.

7 What shall we do about women with those who have remained, for we have sworn by the Lord that none of our daughters would give them for a wife?

8 And they said, Are there any of the tribes of Israel that did not come up to Mizpah to the Lord? And behold, none of Jabes of Gilead came to the camp, to the congregation.

9 For the people were numbered: and, behold, none of the inhabitants of Jabes of Gilead was found there.

10 Then the gathering sent twelve thousand of the bravest men there, and ordered them, saying, Go, and with the edge of the sword I smote the inhabitants of Jabes of Gilead, and the women and children.

11 But this is what you will do: To every man and every woman who lies down with a man you will utterly destroy.

12 And they found among the inhabitants of Jabes of Gilead four hundred virgin girls, who did not know a man lying with a man: and they brought them to the camp, to Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.

4 तब लेविते ने उस स्त्री के पति को उत्तर दिया, जो मारा गया था, और कहा, मैं बिन्यामीन के शहर गिबा में आया हूं, और रात बिताने के लिए अपने उपपत्नी के साथ;

27 और इस्राएल के बच्चों ने उन दिनों में भगवान की वाचा के सन्दूक के लिए भगवान से पूछा;

Judges 20 The Israelites avenge the outrage done to the Levite

 Judges 20

The Israelites avenge the outrage done to the Levite

1 Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation came together, as if they were one man, from Dan to Beersheba, as well as the land of Gilead, to the Lord in Mizpah.

2 And out of the corners of all the people there came out of all the tribes of Israel in the congregation of the people of God four hundred thousand standing men who drew the sword.

3 (Then the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel had gone up to Mizpah) and the children of Israel said, Speak, how did this wickedness happen?

4 Then answered the Levite man, the husband of the woman who had been killed, and said, I came to Gibeah, the city of Benjamin, with my concubine to spend the night;

5 And the citizens of Gibeah rose up against me, and surrounded the house at night: they tried to kill me, and raped my concubine, so that she died.

6 Then I took my concubine, and broke it to pieces, and sent it throughout the land of Israel's inheritance: because they did such evil and madness in Israel.

7 Behold, you are all children of Israel: give your word and counsel here.

8 Then all the people arose as one man, saying, None of us will go to his tent, nor will any of us go to his house.

9 But this is what we will do to Gibeah: we will proceed against it by luck.

10 And we will take ten men out of a hundred from all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred out of a thousand, and out of a thousand out of ten thousand, to take food for the people: so that when they come to the Gibeah of Benjamin, they may do to him according to all the madness he has. made in Israel.

11 So all the men of Israel were gathered against this city, allied as one man.

12 And the tribes of Israel sent men throughout the tribe of Benjamin, saying, What is this evil that has been done among you?

13 Give us now those men, the sons of Belial, who are in Gibeah, that we may kill them and bring evil out of Israel: but the sons of Benjamin did not want to hear the voice of their brothers, the sons of Israel.

14 Before, the children of Benjamin came together from the cities in Gibeah, to go out to fight against the children of Israel.

15 And the children of Benjamin, from the cities, were numbered that day, twenty-six thousand men who drew the sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, of which seven hundred chosen men were numbered.

16 Among all these people there were seven hundred chosen, left-handed men, all of whom threw a stone at a hair with a sling and did not err.

17 And there were numbered of the men of Israel, besides those of Benjamin, four hundred thousand men who drew the sword, and all of them men of war.

18 And they raised up the children of Israel, and went up to Bethel, and asked God, and said, Who among us will go up first to fight against Benjamin? And the Lord said, Judah will go up first.

19 So the children of Israel arose in the morning, and camped against Gibeah.

20 And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel ordered against them the battle at Gibeah.

21 Then the sons of Benjamin went out of Gibeah, and overthrew twenty-two thousand Israelites that day.

22 But the people of the men of Israel made an effort, and they again ordered the battle in the place where they had commanded it on the first day.

23 And the children of Israel went up, and wept before the Lord until evening, and asked the Lord, saying, Shall I return to the battle against the children of Benjamin, my brother? And the Lord said, Go up against him.

24 So the children of Israel came to the children of Benjamin the next day.

25 The men of Benjamin also met them outside Gibeah the next day, and brought down another eighteen thousand men to the ground, all of whom drew the sword.

26 Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came to Bethel, and wept, and stood there before the Lord, and fasted that day until evening: and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

27 And the children of Israel asked the Lord (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days;

28 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before him in those days), saying, Shall I go out still to fight against the children of Benjamin, my brother, or shall I stop? And the Lord said, Go up, that tomorrow I will hand you over.

29 Then Israel set ambushes around Gibeah.

30 And the children of Israel went up on the third day against the children of Benjamin, and ordered the battle with Gibeah as before.

31 Then the sons of Benjamin went out to meet the people, and turned aside from the city: and began to smite some of the people, crossing them, as at other times, through the paths (one of which goes up to Bethel, the other to Gibeah by the field), some thirty of the men of Israel.

32 Then the sons of Benjamin said, They are defeated before us as before. But the children of Israel said, Let us flee, and let them go out of the city and into the paths.

33 Then all the men of Israel arose from their place, and ordered the battle at Baal-Tamar: and the ambush of Israel came out of its place, from the cave of Gibeah.

34 And ten thousand chosen men from all Israel came against Gibeah, and the battle became pregnant: but they did not know that evil would touch them.

35 Then the Lord smote Benjamin before Israel; and the children of Israel destroyed that day twenty-five thousand and one hundred men of Benjamin, all of whom drew sword.

36 And the sons of Benjamin saw that they were wounded: because the men of Israel gave way to the Benjaminites, because they were confident in the ambush that they had set against Gibeah.

37 And the ambush hurried and attacked Gibeah: and the ambush struck against it and struck the whole city with the edge of the sword.

38 And the children of Israel had a determined signal with the ambush, which was to raise the city a great cloud of smoke.

39 So the men of Israel turned in the battle: and Benjamin was already beginning to wound, from the men of Israel, almost thirty men, crossing them, because they said: they are already unfailingly defeated before us, as in the past battle.

40 Then the cloud of smoke began to rise from the city, like a pillar of smoke: and as Benjamin turned to look behind him, behold, the smoke of the city was rising into the sky.

41 And the men of Israel turned their faces away, and the men of Benjamin were astonished; because they saw that evil would touch them.

42 And they turned their backs before the men of Israel, towards the desert path: but the battle tightened them; and those in the cities undid them in their midst.

43 And they surrounded Benjamin, and followed him, and trampled him at will, even before Gibeah, into the rising of the sun.

44 And eighteen thousand men fell from Benjamin, all of whom were valiant men.

45 Then they turned their backs and fled into the wilderness, at the rim of Rimmon; they also took about five thousand men from their paths: and they followed them closely to Gideon, and wounded two thousand men from them.

46 And it was all that from Benjamin that day fell twenty-five thousand men that drew the sword, all of them brave men.

47 But six hundred men turned their backs and fled into the desert at Rimon's rock: and stayed at Rimon's rock for four months.

48 And the children of Israel returned to the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, from the men of the city to the animals, all that was there, and also to all the cities that were found were set on fire.

4 Então respondeu o homem levita, marido da mulher que fora morta, e disse: Cheguei com minha concubina a Gibeá, cidade de Benjamim, para passar a noite;

27 E os filhos de Israel perguntaram ao Senhor ( porquanto a arca do concerto de Deus estava ali naqueles dias;
