Last Corner of Moses

1 Incline your ear, O heavens, and I will speak: and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.

2 Drip my doctrine like rain, distill my saying as dew, as drizzle on the grass, and as drops of water on the grass.

3 For I will proclaim the name of the Lord: give greatness to our God.

4 He is the rock whose work is perfect, because all his ways are: God is the truth, and there is no unrighteousness in him; fair and straight is.

5 They have been corrupted against him, his children are not, his stain is theirs; wicked and twisted generation is.

6 Do you thus reward the Lord, a foolish and ignorant people? Is not he your Father, who bought you, made you, and established you?

7 Remember the days of old, beware of the years of many generations: Ask your father, and he will tell you to your elders, and they will tell you.

8 When the Most High distributed inheritances to the nations, and divided the children of Adam from one another, he set the terms of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel.

9 For the potion of the LORD is his people; Jacob is the rope of his inheritance.

10 And he found him in the land of the desert, and in a howling lonely wilderness he brought him round, instructed him, kept him as the apple of his eye.

11 As the eagle awakens its nest, it moves over its children, spreads its wings, takes them and carries them on its wings.

12 Only the Lord led him: and there was no strange God with him.

13 He made him ride upon his high places, and ate the tidings of the field, and made him suck honey from the rock and oil from the hard flint.

14 Butter from cow and milk from the flock with the fat of lambs and rams grazing in Bashan and the goats, with fat from the kidneys of wheat; and you drank the blood of the grapes, the pure wine.

15 And Jesurum grew fat, and kicked; You became fat, you became thicker, and you covered yourself with fatness. You left God who did it and despised the Rock of His salvation.

16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods; with abominations they angered him.

17 Sacrifices offered to the devils, not to God, to the gods they did not know, new gods that came a little while ago, and their fathers did not tremble.

18 You have forgotten the rock that begot you: and you have forgotten the God who formed you.

19 And when the LORD saw them, he despised them, and provoked to anger their sons and their daughters.

20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be; For they are a generation of wickedness, children in whom is no loyalty.

21 They have provoked me to jealousy with that which is not God; With their vanities they provoked me to anger. therefore I will provoke them to jealousy with those who are not a people; With a mad nation I will stir them up to anger.

22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall devour the earth with its newness, and shall burn the foundations of the mountains.

23 I will heap evil upon them; My arrows I will wear out against them.

24 They shall be hungry, and eaten with carbuncle and bitter plague: and I will send beast teeth among them, with a fiery serpent's poison from the dust.

25 Outside the sword shall be destroyed, and terror within: the young man with the virgin, the breast-fed child, and the man of khans.

26 I said, I would scatter them everywhere, I would make his memory to cease from among men,

27 If I have not feared the wrath of the enemy, that his adversaries may not be afraid of him, and that they may not say, Our hand is high; the Lord did not do all this.

28 For they are lacking in counsel, and understanding in them.

29 If only they were wise! let this understand, and heed their end!

30 How can one chase a thousand, and two make ten thousand flee if his Rock had not sold them, and the Lord had not delivered them?

31 For his rock is not like our rock; even our enemies being judges of this.

32 For his vineyard is the vineyard of Sodom and of the fields of Gomorrah: his grapes are galls, bitter bunches have.

33 His wine is a burning poison of dragons, and a venom of vipers.

34 Is not this closed with me? sealed in my treasures?

35 Vengeance and reward are mine, as long as their foot shall slip: for the day of their ruin is nigh, and the things that shall come upon them hasten to come.

36 For the LORD will do justice to his people, and repent for his servants, when he sees that his power is gone, and there is neither shut up nor forsaken.

37 Then shall he say, Where are their gods? the rock they trusted,

38 From whose sacrifices did they eat the fat, and from whose drink did they drink the wine? arise and help you, that there may be a hiding place for you.

39 See now that I, I am he, and no God with me; I kill, and I make life, I hurt, and I heal; and there is none to escape from my hand.

40 For I will lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live forever.

41 If I sharpen my shining sword, and take my hand from judgment, I will cause vengeance to be turned upon my adversaries, and ye will reward my haters.

42 I will make my arrows of blood drunk, and my sword shall eat flesh: from the blood of the dead and the prisoners from the head shall there be vengeance on the enemy.

43 Rejoice, O nations, with his people; for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and bring vengeance upon their adversaries, and have mercy upon their land and upon their people.

44 And Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Hoshea the son of Nun.

45 And when Moses had spoken all these words unto all Israel,

46 And he said unto them, Apply your heart to all the words which I bear witness among you this day, that ye may commend them to your children, that they may be careful to keep all the words of this law.

47 For this word is not vain unto you, but your life; and by the same word ye shall prolong the days in the land which ye pass by over Jordan, to possess.

48 And Jehovah spake unto Moses that day, saying,

49 Go up to the hill of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, opposite Jericho, and see the land of Canaan, which I will give unto the children of Israel for a possession.

50 And die on the mountain, to which thou shalt go up; and gather yourselves unto thy peoples, as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and gathered himself unto his peoples.

51 Because you have transgressed against me in the midst of the children of Israel in the waters of contention in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin; for you have not sanctified me among the children of Israel.

52 Therefore you shall see the land before you, but you shall not enter it into the land which I will give to the children of Israel.

1 Inclinai os ouvidos, ó céus, e falarei: e ouça a terra as palavras da minha boca.
2 Goteje a minha doutrina como a chuva, destile o meu dito como o orvalho, como chuvisco sobre a erva e como gotas de água sobre a relva.
3 Porque apregoarei o nome do Senhor: dai grandeza a nosso Deus.
4 Ele é a rocha, cuja obra é perfeita, porque todos os seus caminhos são: Deus é a verdade e não há nele injustiça; justo e reto é.
5 Corromperam-se contra ele, seus filhos eles não são, a sua mancha é deles; geração perversa e torcida é.
6 Recompensais assim ao Senhor, povo louco e ignorante? não é ele teu Pai, que te adquiriu, te fez e te estabeleceu?
7 Lembra-te dos dias da antigüidade, atenta para os anos de muitas gerações: pergunta a teu pai, e ele te informará, aos teus anciãos, e eles to dirão.
8 Quando o Altíssimo distribuía as heranças às nações, quando dividia os filhos de Adão uns dos outros, pôs os termos dos povos, conforme ao número dos filhos de Israel.
9 Porque a poção do Senhor é o seu povo; Jacó é a corda da sua herança.

15 E, engordando-se Jesurum, deu coices; engordaste-te, engrossaste-te, e de gordura te cobriste: e deixou a Deus, que o fez, e desprezou a Rocha da sua salvação.
16 Com deuses estranho o provocaram a zelos; com abominações o irritaram.
17 Sacrifícios ofereceram aos diabos não a Deus, aos deuses que não conheceram, novos deuses que vieram há pouco, dos quais não se estremeceram vossos pais.
18 Esqueceste-te da Rocha que te gerou: e em esquecimento puseste o Deus que te formou.
19 O que vendo o Senhor, os desprezou, provocando à ira contra seus filhos e suas filhas;
20 E disse: Esconderei o meu rosto deles, verei qual será o seu fim; porque são geração de perversidade, filhos em quem não há lealdade.
21 A zelos me provocaram com aquilo que não é Deus; com as suas vaidades me provocaram à ira; portanto eu os provocarei a zelos com os que não são povo; com nação louca os despertarei à ira.
22 Porque um fogo se acendeu na minha ira, e arderá até ao mais profundo do inferno, e consumirá a terra com a sua novidade, e abrasará os fundamentos dos montes.
23 Males amontoarei sobre eles; as minhas setas esgotarei contra eles.

27 Se eu não receara a ira do inimigo, para que os seus adversários o não estranhem, e para que não digam: A nossa mão está alta; o Senhor não fez tudo isto.
28 Porque são gente falta de conselhos, e neles não há entendimento.
29 Oxalá eles fossem sábios! que isto entendessem, e atentassem para o seu fim!
30 Como pode ser que um só perseguisse mil, e dois fizessem fugir dez mil, se a sua Rocha os não vendera, e o Senhor os não entregara?
31 Porque a sua rocha não é como a nossa Rocha; sendo até os nossos inimigos juízes disto.
32 Porque a sua vinha é a vinha de Sodoma e dos campos de Gomorra: as suas uvas são uvas de fel, cachos amargosos têm.
33 O seu vinho é ardente veneno de dragões, e peçonha cruel de víboras.
34 Não está isto encerrado comigo? selado nos meus tesouros?
35 Minha é a vingança e a recompensa, ao tem po que resvalar o seu pé: porque o dia da sua ruína está próximo, e as coisas que lhes hão de suceder, se apressam a chegar.
36 Porque o Senhor fará justiça ao seu povo, e se arrependerá pelos seus servos, quando vir que o seu poder se foi, e não há fechado nem desamparado.
37 Então dirá: Onde estão os seus deuses? a rocha em que confiavam,
38 De cujos sacrifícios comiam a gordura, e de cujas libações bebiam o vinho? levantem-se, e vos ajudem, para que haja para vós escondedouro.
39 Vede agora que eu, eu o sou, e mais nenhum Deus comigo; eu mato, e eu faço viver, eu firo, e eu saro; e ninguém há que escape da minha mão.
40 Porque levantarei a minha mão aos céus, e direi: Eu vivo para sempre.
41 Se eu afiar a minha espada reluzente, e travar do juízo a minha mão, farei tornar a vingança sobre os meus adversários, e recompensareis aos meus aborrecedores.
42 Embriagarei as minhas setas de sangue, e a minha espada comerá carne: do sangue dos mortos e dos prisioneiros, desde a cabeça, haverá vinganças do inimigo.
43 Jubilai, ó nações, com o seu povo, porque vingará o sangue dos seus servos, e sobre os seus adversários fará tornar a vingança, e terá misericórdia da sua terra e do seu povo.
44 E veio Moisés, e falou todas as palavras deste cântico aos ouvidos do povo, ele e Oséias, filho de Num.
45 E, acabando Moisés de falar todas estas palavras a todo o Israel,
46 Disse-lhes: Aplicai o vosso coração a todas as palavras que hoje testifico entre vós, para que as recomendeis a vossos filhos, para que tenham cuidado de cumprir todas as palavras desta lei.
47 Porque esta palavra não vos é vã, antes é a vossa vida; e por esta mesma palavra prolongareis os dias na terra a qual, passando o Jordão, ides a possuir.
48 Depois falou o Senhor a Moisés, naquele mesmo dia, dizendo:
49 Sobe ao monte de Abarim, ao monte Nebo, que está na terra de Moabe, defronte de Jericó, e vê a terra de Canaã, que darei aos filhos de Israel por possessão.
50 E morre no monte, ao qual subirás; e recolhe-te aos teus povos, como Aarão teu irmão morreu no monte de Hor, e se recolheu aos seus povos.
51 Porquanto prevaricastes contra mim no meio dos filhos de Israel, nas águas da contenção em Cades, no deserto de Zim; pois não me santificastes no meio dos filhos de Israel.
52 Pelo que verás a terra diante de ti, porém não entrarás nela, na terra que darei aos filhos de Israel.

19 Now therefore write you this song, and teach it to the children of Israel: put it in your mouth, that this song may be a witness to me against the children of Israel.

20 For I will put him into the land which I swore to his fathers, that floweth milk and honey; and he shall eat and be satisfied, and shall be fat: then shall he turn unto other gods, and serve them, and they shall irritate me, and they shall break my covenant.

21 And it shall come to pass, that when many afflictions and troubles come upon him, then this song shall answer against him for a witness; he shall not be forgotten at the mouth of his seed; For I know his imagination, which he doeth today, rather than the goal in the land which I have sworn.

22 So Moses wrote this song on that day, and taught it to the children of Israel.

23 And he commanded Joshua the son of Nun, and said, Be strong and encourage yourself; For thou shalt put the children of Israel into the land which I swore unto them; and I will be with you.

24 And it came to pass, when Moses had finished writing the words of this law in a book, until it was all over,

25 God commanded Moses to the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying,

26 Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against you.

27 For I know your rebellion and your stiff neck: behold, as I live with you this day, you rebelled against the LORD; and the more after my death.

28 Gather before me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, and I will speak these words in your ears, and I will take heaven and earth against them for witnesses.

29 For I know that after my death ye shall surely be corrupted, and shall turn aside from the way which I commanded you: and this evil shall overtake you in the last days, when ye do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke wrath with the work of your hands.

30 And Moses spake the words of this song in the ears of all the congregation of Israel until they were finished.

20 Porque o meterei na terra que jurei a seus pais, que mana leite e mel; e comerá e se fartará, e se engordará: então  se tornará a outros deuses, e os servirá, e me irritarão, e anularão o meu concerto.
21 E será que, quando o alcançarem muitos males e angústias, então este cântico responderá contra ele por testemunha, pois não será esquecido da boca de sua semente; porquanto conheço a sua imaginação, o que ele faz hoje, antes que o meta na terra que tenho jurado.
22 Assim Moisés escreveu este cântico naquele dia, e o ensinou aos filhos de Israel.
23 E ordenou a Josué, filho de Num, e disse: Esforça-te e anima-te; porque tu meterás os filhos de Israel na terra que lhes jurei; e eu serei contigo.
24 E aconteceu que, acabando Moisés de escrever as palavras desta lei num livro, até de todo acabar,
25 Deus ordem Moisés  aos levitas que levavam a arca do concerto do Senhor, dizendo:
26 Tomai este livro da lei, e ponde-o ao lado da arca do concerto do Senhor vosso Deus, para que ali esteja por testemunha contra ti.
27 Porque conheço a tua rebelião e a tua dura cerviz: eis que, vivendo eu ainda hoje convosco, rebeldes fostes contra o Senhor; e quanto mais depois da minha morte.
28 Ajuntai perante mim todos os anciãos das vossas tribos, e vossos oficiais, e aos vossos ouvidos falarei estas palavras, e contra eles por testemunhas tomarei os céus e a terra.
29 Porque eu sei que depois de minha morte certamente vos corrompereis, e vos desviareis do caminho que vos ordenei: então este mal vos alcançará  nos últimos dias, quando fizerdes mal aos olhos do Senhor, para provocar à ira com a obra das vossas mãos.
30 Então Moisés falou as palavras deste cântico aos ouvidos de toda a congregação de Israel, até se acabarem.

14 And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thy days are come that thou mayest die; Call Joshua, and put yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may command him. So Moses and Joshua went and stood in the tabernacle of the congregation.
15 Then the Lord appeared in the tent in the pillar of cloud; and the pillar of cloud was over the door of the tent.
16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, they shall sleep with thy fathers: and this people shall rise up, and commit fornication, after the gods of the strangers of the earth, among whom they go, and shall forsake me, and shall break my covenant which I have done with him.
17 So my anger will be kindled against him that day, and I will forsake him, and will hide my face from them, that they may be devoured. and so many evils and troubles shall they come upon him, that he shall say in that day, Did not these evils reach me, because my God is not in my midst?
18 I will completely hide my face that day for all the evil that I have done, because I have become other gods.

17 Assim se acenderá a minha ira naquele dia contra ele, e desampará-lo-ei, e esconderei o meu rosto deles, para que sejam devorados; e tantos males e angústias o alcançarão, que dirá naquele dia: Não me alcançaram estes males, porquanto o meu Deus não está no meio de mim?
18 Esconderei pois totalmente o meu rosto naquele dia por todo o mal que tiver feito, por se haver tornado a outros deuses.

9 And Moses wrote this law, and gave it unto the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel.
10 And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time of the year of remission, at the feast of tabernacles,
11 When all Israel appear before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in his ears.
12 Gather the people, men, and women, and children, and thy strangers that are within thy gates, that they may hear, and learn, and fear the LORD your God, and be careful to do all the words of this law;
13 And let their children, who do not know it, hear and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as you live on the land to which you go, over Jordan, to possess.

God's mercy to those who repent
1 And may all these things come upon you, the blessing or the curse, which I have set before you, and remember them among all nations, whither the LORD thy God shall cast thee to thee;
2 And turn to the LORD your God, and hearken unto his voice, according to all that I command you this day, you and your children, with all your heart, and with all your soul;
3 Then the LORD your God will bring you back from your captivity, and will pity you. And he will gather you from among all the nations among whom Jehovah your God has scattered you.
4 Though thine outcasts are to the uttermost part of heaven, the LORD thy God will gather thee from thence, and take thee thence;
5 And the Lord your God will bring you into the land which your fathers have possessed, and you shall possess it. and it will do you good, and multiply you more than your fathers.
6 And the Lord thy God shall circumcise thy heart, and the heart of thy seed; To love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
7 And the Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on your haters who have persecuted you.
8 And thou shalt turn and obey the voice of the LORD; Thou shalt do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

2 E te converteres ao Senhor teu Deus, e deres ouvidos à sua voz conforme a tudo o que eu te ordeno hoje, tu e teus filhos, com todo o teu coração, e com toda a tua alma;
3 Então o Senhor teu Deus te fará voltar do teu cativeiro, e se apiedará de ti; e tornará a ajuntar-te dentre todas as nações entre as quais te espalhou o Senhor teu Deus.
4 Ainda que os teus desterrados estejam para a extremidade do céu, desde ali te ajuntará o Senhor teu Deus, e te tomará dali;
5 E o Senhor teu Deus te trará à terra que teus pais possuíram e a possuirás; e te fará bem, e te multiplicará mais do que a teus pais.
6 E o Senhor teu Deus circuncidará o teu coração, e o coração de tua semente; para amares ao Senhor teu Deus com todo o coração, e com toda a tua alma, para que vivas.
