The law of the Lord is very clear.
11 For this commandment which I command you this day is not hidden from you, nor is it far from you.
12 It is not in heaven to say, Who shall go up to us into heaven, and bring it to us, and make him hear, that we may do it?
13 Neither is he beyond the sea, to say, Who shall pass over us from beyond the sea, that he may bring it unto us, and make him hear, that we may do it?
14 For this word is very near to you in your mouth and in your heart to do it.
15 See here, today I have proposed to you life and good, and death and evil;
16 Because I command you this day to love the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, that ye may live, and multiply, and the LORD thy God may bless thee. in the land which you enter to possess.
17 But if your heart goes astray, and you will not hearken, and be seduced to bow down to other gods, and to serve them,
18 Then I denounce to you this day, that ye shall surely perish: ye shall not prolong the days in the land where you go, passing over Jordan, that you may enter into it;
19 The heavens and the earth I take today for a witness against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: choose life, that you may live, you and your seed.
20 Loving the LORD your God, heeding his voice, and drawing near unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that you may be in the land which the Lord has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
