Judges 18 The Danes take the image from Mica's house and levitates it

 Judges 18

The Danes take the image from Mica's house and levitates it

Then the five men answered, who went to spy out the land of Lais, and said to their brothers, Do you also know that in those houses there is an ephod, and teraphins, and a sculpture and a foundry image? See now what you will do.

Then they went there, and came to the young man, the Levite, in Mica's house, and saluted him.

And the six hundred men, who were of the sons of Dan, armed with their weapons of war, stood at the entrance to the door.

But when the five men went up, who went to spy out the land, they entered it, and took the image of sculpture, the ephod, and the theraphins, and the image of casting, with the priest standing at the entrance of the door with the six hundred men. who were armed with weapons of war.

So when they entered Mica's house, and took the image of sculpture, and the ephod, and the theraphins, and the image of casting, the priest said to them, What are you doing?

And they said to him, Shut up, put your hand over your mouth, and come with us, and be our father and priest: it is better for you to be a priest in the house of one man, than to be a priest of a tribe. and a generation in Israel?

Then the priest's heart rejoiced, and took the ephod, and the teraphins, and the carved image: and entered the midst of the people.

And so they turned, and departed: and the children, and the cattle, and the baggage they set before them.

And when they were far from Mica's house, the men who were in the houses next to Mica's house, gathered together and reached the sons of Dan.

And they cried out after the sons of Dan, who turned their faces, and said to Micah, What is it, that you have summoned this people?

Then he said, My gods, which I have made, you have taken me, together with the priest, and you are gone; what else is left for me now? As you say to me, What do you have?

But the sons of Dan said, “Do not make us hear your voice, lest men of bitter spirit be cast on you, and you lose your life and the lives of those in your house.

So the children of Dan went on their way; and Mica, seeing that they were stronger than he, returned, and became his home.

So they took what Micah had done, and the priest he had, and came to Laís, to a quiet and trusting people, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and burned the city with fire.

And no one was able to deliver them because they were far from Sidon, and they had nothing to do with anyone, and the city was in the valley that is next to Beth-Reobe: then they rebuilt the city and lived in it.

And they called the name of the city Dan, after the name of their father Dan, who was born in Israel: but the name of this city was Lais before.

And the sons of Dan lifted up that sculpture image: and Jonathan, the son of Gérson, the son of Manasseh, he and his sons were priests of the tribe of the Danes, until the day of the captivity of the land.

So the image of sculpture, which Mica had made, established for himself, every day that the house of God was in Shiloh.
