Joshua 24
Joshua brings to the people's memory everything that God had done for them
Then Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel in Shechem, and called the elders of Israel, and their officials, and they stood before God.
Then Joshua said to all the people, Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: In the old days your fathers lived, Terah, father of Abraham and father of Nakor: and they served other gods.
But I took your father Abraham beyond the river, and made him walk throughout the land of Canaan: I also multiplied his seed, and gave it to Isaac.
And to Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau: and to Esau I gave the mountain of Seir, to possess it: but Jacob and his sons went down to Egypt.
Then I sent Moses and Aaron, and struck Egypt, as I did in his midst; and then I took you out of there.
And when I took your fathers out of Egypt, you came to the sea: and the Egyptians pursued your fathers, with chariots and horsemen, as far as the Red Sea.
And they cried out to the Lord, who put a darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea over them, and covered them, and your eyes saw what I did in Egypt: then you lived in the desert many days.
Then I brought you into the land of the Amorites, who lived beyond the Jordan, who fought against you: but I gave them into your hand, and you possessed their land, and destroyed them before you.
Balak son of Zipor, king of the Moabites, arose and fought against Israel: and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you.
But I did not want to hear Balaam: therefore, blessing you, he blessed you, and delivered you out of his hand.
And when you passed over the Jordan and came to Jericho, the inhabitants of Jericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Ferezeus and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgaseus, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites: but I gave them in your hand.
And I sent hornets before you, who drove them out before you, like both the kings of the Amorites: not with your sword, nor with your bow.
And I gave you the land on which you did not work, and the cities on which you did not build, and dwell in them; and you eat from the vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.
