Joshua 03
The Jordan Pass
So Joshua arose early in the morning, and departed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel: and they sat there before they passed.
And it came to pass after three days, that the princes passed through the midst of the camp;
And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the Levite priests carry it, depart ye also from your place, and follow it.
Let there be a distance between you and her, as at the measure of two thousand cubits: and come not unto her, that ye may know the way in which ye shall go; because you have never passed this way before.
And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you.
And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Lift up the ark of the covenant, and pass before this people. So they raised up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee before the eyes of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee.
And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye come to the border of the waters of Jordan, ye shall stop at Jordan.
And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God.
And Joshua said, By this shall ye know that the living God is among you: and shall utterly cast out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and to the Jebusites.
Behold, the ark of the covenant of the LORD of all the earth passes Jordan before you.
Take now twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, one out of every tribe;
For it shall come to pass, that as soon as the sole of the priests that bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, the waters of Jordan shall be separated, and the waters that go down from above shall be stopped. in a heap.
And it came to pass, when the people went out of their tents, to pass over the Jordan, that the priests carried the ark of the covenant before the people.
And when those carrying the ark came to Jordan, and the feet of the priests carrying the ark got wet at the waters' edge: for Jordan overflowed over all its banks all the days of harvest.
The waters from above were stopped; They rose up in a heap, far from the city of Adam, which is in the border of Sartan. And they that went down to the sea of the plain, which is the salt sea, missed all, and departed, And the people passed over before Jericho.
But the priests who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm and dry in the midst of the Jordan: and all Israel passed away, until all the people had passed over the Jordan.
