The Ruin of the Kingdoms of Israel and Syria

1 Then the Lord said to me, "Take a large scroll and write on it in a human hand: 'He hastened to the spoil, he hastened to the prey.'"

2 Then I took with me faithful witnesses: Uriah the priest and Zechariah son of Jeberekiah.

3 So I went to the prophetess, and she conceived and bore a son. The Lord said to me, "Call his name Maher Shalal-hash-baz."

4 For before the boy can tell who my father or my mother is, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be carried off before the king of Assyria. 

5 And the Lord spoke to me again, saying:

6 Because this people has despised the waters of Shiloah, which flow gently, and has rejoiced over Rezin and the son of Remaliah;

7 Behold, the Lord will bring upon them the waters of the river, strong and rushing, the king of Assyria in all his glory; and it will rise above all its channels and overflow all its banks.

8 And it will pass over Judah, overflowing it, and it will reach even to the neck; and the spreading of its wings will fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.

9 Be tumultuous, O peoples, and you will be broken in pieces; give ear, all you who are from far countries: gird yourselves, and you will be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and you will be broken in pieces. 

10 Take counsel together, and it will be destroyed; speak the word, and it will not stand, for God is with us.

11 For thus the Lord spoke to me with a strong hand, and taught me not to walk in the way of this people, saying:

12 Do not call a conspiracy all that this people calls a conspiracy; and do not fear their fear, nor be dismayed.

13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

14 Then he will be your sanctuary; but he will be a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense to both houses of Israel, a snare and a net to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

15 And many of them will stumble and fall, and will be broken, and snared, and taken.

16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples. 

17 And I will wait for the Lord, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and for him I will hope.

18 Here I am, with the children whom the Lord has given me, as signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion.

19 When they say to you, "Consult those who have familiar spirits and mediums who whisper and mutter," will not a people seek their God? Will the dead inquire on behalf of the living?

20 To the Law and the Testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, there is no dawn.

21 And they will pass through the land, hard-pressed and hungry. And it will come to pass, when they are hungry and angry, that they will curse their king and their God, looking up. 

22 And they shall look toward the earth, and, behold, there shall be distress and darkness, and they shall be darkened with anguish, and driven into darkness.

1 Disse-me também o Senhor: Toma um grande volume e escreve nele em estilo de homem: Apressando-se ao despojo, apressurou-se à presa.

2 Então tomei comigo fiéis testemunhas, a Urias sacerdote, e a Zacarias, filho de Jeberequias.

3 E fui ter com a profetisa; e ela concebeu, e deu à luz um filho; e o Senhor me disse: Põe-lhe o nome de Maer Salal-Has-Baz.

4 Porque antes que o menino saiba dizer meu pai ou minha mãe se levarão as riquezas de Damasco, e os despojos de Samaria, diante do rei da Assíria.

5 E continuou o Senhor a falar ainda comigo, dizendo:

6 Porquanto este povo desprezou as águas de Siloé que correm brandamente, e com Rezim e com o filho de Remalias se alegrou:

7 Eis que o Senhor fará vir sobre eles as águas do rio, fortes e impetuosas, isto é, o rei da Assíria, com toda a sua glória; e subirá sobre todos os seus leitos, e transbordará por todas as suas ribanceiras;

8 E passará a Judá, inundando-o, e irá passando por ele e chegará até ao pescoço; e a extensão de suas asas encherá a largura da tua terra, ó Emanuel.

9 Alvoroçai-vos, ó povos, e sereis quebrantados; dai ouvidos, todos os que sois de longes terras: cingi-vos e sereis feitos em pedaços, cingi-vos e sereis feitos em pedaços.

10 Tomai juntamente conselho, e ele será dissipado: dizei a palavra, e ela não subsistirá, porque Deus é conosco.

11 Porque assim o Senhor me disse com uma forte mão, e me ensinou que não andasse pelo caminho deste povo, dizendo:

12 Não chameis conjuração, a tudo quanto este povo chama conjuração: e não temais o seu temor, nem tampouco vos assombreis.

13 Ao Senhor dos Exércitos, a ele santificai: e seja ele o vosso temor e seja ele o vosso assombro.

14 Então ele vos será santuário; mas servirá de pedra de tropeço, e de rocha de escândalo, às duas casas de Israel; de laço e rede aos moradores de Jerusalém.

15 E muitos dentre eles tropeçarão, e cairão, e serão quebrantados, e enlaçados, e presos.

16 Liga o testemunho, sela a lei entre os meus discípulos.

17 E esperarei ao Senhor, que esconde o seu rosto da casa de Jacó, e a ele aguardarei.

18 Eis me aqui, com os filhos que me deu o Senhor, como sinais e maravilhas em Israel da parte do Senhor dos Exércitos, que habita no monte de Sião.

19 Quando vos disserem: Consultai os que têm espíritos familiares e os adivinhos, que chilreiam e murmuram entre dentes; -não recorrerá um povo ao seu Deus? A favor dos vivos interrogar-se-ão os mortos?

20 À Lei e o Testemunho! Se eles não falarem segundo esta palavra, nunca verão a alva.

21 E passarão pela terra duramente oprimidos e famintos: e será que, tendo fome, e enfurecendo-se, então amaldiçoarão ao seu rei e ao seu Deus, olhando para cima.

22 E, olhando para terra, eis que haverá angústia e escuridão, e serão entenebrecidos com ânsia, e arrastados para a escuridão.

1 यहूदा के राजा उज्जिय्याह के पुत्र योताम के पुत्र आहाज के दिनों में, अराम के राजा रसीन और इस्राएल के राजा रमल्याह के पुत्र पेकह यरूशलेम से युद्ध करने के लिए गए, परन्तु वे ऐसा न कर सके।

2 और उन्होंने दाऊद के घराने को यह समाचार दिया, "अरब ने एप्रैम के साथ वाचा बाँध ली है।" तब दाऊद और उसकी प्रजा का हृदय काँप उठा, जैसे वन के वृक्ष आँधी से काँप उठते हैं।

10 तब यहोवा ने आहाज से कहा, कह रहा है,

22 और ऐसा होगा कि उनके बहुत दूध देने के कारण वह मक्खन खाएगा; और देश में जितने लोग बचे रहेंगे वे मक्खन और शहद खाएँगे।

23 और उस दिन ऐसा होगा कि हर जगह जहाँ चाँदी के हज़ार टुकड़ों की हज़ार दाखलताएँ थीं, वहाँ कटीले पेड़ उग आएँगे।

24 लोग धनुष-बाण लेकर उसमें प्रवेश करेंगे, क्योंकि कटीले पेड़ सारी ज़मीन को ढक लेंगे।

25 और उन सभी पहाड़ियों पर भी जो कुदाल से खोदी जाती थीं, कोई भी कटीले पेड़ों के डर से नहीं जाएगा; बल्कि वे मवेशियों को हाँकने और भेड़ों को रौंदने के लिए इस्तेमाल की जाएँगी।

1 Now it came to pass in the days of Ahaz son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel went up to Jerusalem to fight against it, but they were unable to do so.

2 And they told the house of David, saying, "Arabia has made a league with Ephraim." Then his heart shook, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are shaken by the wind.

3 Then the Lord said to Isaiah, "Now you and Shear-jashub your son go out to meet Ahaz at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, by the road to the fuller's field."

4 And he said to him, "Take heed and be still; Do not be afraid, nor let your heart be discouraged because of these two pieces of smoking firebrands, because of the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria and the son of Remaliah.

5 For Syria, together with Ephraim and the son of Remaliah, has taken evil counsel against you, saying,

6 "Let us go up against Judah and torment it, and let us divide it among ourselves, and let us make the son of Tabeal king in its midst."

7 Thus says the Lord God: This shall not stand, nor shall it come to pass.

8 But the head of Syria shall be Damascus, and the head of Damascus Rezin. And within sixty-five years Ephraim shall be shattered, and shall cease to be a people.

9 But the head of Ephraim shall be Samaria, and the head of Samaria the son of Remaliah. If you do not believe, you shall not be established. 

10 Then the Lord spoke to Ahaz, saying,

11 Ask the Lord your God for a sign; ask it either in the depths below or in the heights above.

12 But Ahaz said, "I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord."

13 Then he said, "Hear now, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also?

14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

15 He shall eat butter and honey until he knows to refuse evil and choose good.

16 Indeed, before the child knows to refuse evil and choose good, the land that you hate will be forsaken of its two kings.

17 But the Lord will bring upon you, and upon your people, and upon your father's house, by the king of Assyria, days such as have not come since the day that Ephraim separated himself from Judah.

18 For it will come to pass in that day that the Lord will hiss at the flies that are in the uttermost parts of the rivers of Egypt, and at the bees that swarm in the land of Assyria;

19 And they will come and settle all of them in the waste valleys, in the clefts of the rocks, and on all thorns, and in all the forests.

20 On that day the Lord will shave with a razor hired beyond the river, that is, with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet, and he will even take away the beard completely.

21 And it will come to pass in that day that a man will keep a cow and two sheep.

22 And it will come to pass that because of the abundance of milk which they will give, he will eat butter; and everyone who is left in the land will eat butter and honey.

23 And it will come to pass in that day that every place where there were a thousand vines worth a thousand pieces of silver will become briers and thorns.

24 With bows and arrows people will enter it, because briers and thorns will cover the whole land.

25 And also to all the hills that are used to be dug with a mattock, no one will go because of the fear of briers and thorns; but they will be used for cattle to be driven there and for sheep to trample.

1 Sucedeu pois nos dias de Acaz, filho de Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá, que Rezim, rei da Síria, e Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, subiram a Jerusalém, para pelejarem contra ela, mas nada puderam contra ela.

2 E deram aviso à casa de Davi, dizendo: A Síria fez aliança com Efraim. Então se moveu o seu coração, e o coração do seu povo, como se movem as árvores do bosque com o vento.

3 Então disse o Senhor a Isaías: Agora tu e teu filho Sear-Jasube saí ao encontro de Acaz, ao fim do canal do viveiro superior, ao caminho do campo do lavandeiro.

7 Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Isto não subsistirá, nem tampouco acontecerá.

8 Mas a cabeça as Síria será Damasco, e o cabeça de Damasco Rezim: e dentro de sessenta e cinco anos Efraim será quebrantado, e deixará de ser povo.

9 Entretanto a cabeça de Efraim será Samaria, e o cabeça de Samaria o filho de Remalias; se o não crerdes, certamente não ficareis firmes.

10 E continuou o Senhor a falar com Acaz, dizendo:

11 Pede para ti ao Senhor teu Deus um sinal; pede-o ou embaixo nas profundezas ou em cima nas alturas.

12 Acaz porém disse: Não o pedirei nem tentarei ao Senhor.

13 Então ele disse: Ouvi agora, ó casa de Davi: Pouco vos é afadigardes os homens, senão que ainda afadigareis também ao meu Deus?

14 Portanto o mesmo Senhor vos dará um sinal: Eis que uma virgem conceberá, e dará à luz um filho, e será o seu nome Emanuel.

15 Manteiga e mel comerá, até que ele saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem.

16 Na verdade, antes que este menino saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem, a terra de que te enfadas será desamparada dos seus dois reis.

17 Mas o Senhor fará vir sobre ti, e sobre o teu povo, e sobre a casa de teu pai, pelo rei da Assíria, dias tais, quais nunca vieram, desde o dia em que Efraim se separou de Judá.

18 Porque há de acontecer que naquele dia assobiará o Senhor às moscas, que há no extremo dos rios do Egito, e às abelhas que andam na terra da Assíria;

19 E virão, e pousarão todos nos vales desertos e nas fendas das rochas, e em todos os espinhos e em todas as florestas.

20 Naquele dia rapará o Senhor com uma navalha alugada, que está além do rio, isto é com o rei da Assíria, a cabeça e os cabelos dos pés: e até a barba totalmente tirará.

21 E sucederá naquele dia que alguém criará uma vaca e duas ovelhas.

22 E acontecerá que por causa da abundância do leite que elas hão de dar, comerá manteiga; e manteiga e mel comerá todo aquele que ficar de resto no meio da terra.

23 Sucederá também naquele dia que todo o lugar, em que houver mil vides, do valor de mil moedas de prata, será para sarças e para espinheiros.

24 Com arcos e flechas se entrará nele, porque as sarças e os espinheiros cobrirão toda a terra.

25 E também a todos os montes, que costumam cavar com enxadas, se não irá, por causa do temor das sarças e dos espinheiros; mas servirão para se mandarem para lá os bois e para serem pisados pelas ovelhas.

1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2 Above him stood the seraphim; each had six wings: with two they covered their faces, and with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew.

3 And they cried out to one another, saying, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts! The whole earth is full of his glory!"

4 And the doorposts shook at the voice of him who cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then I said, "Woe is me! I am perishing! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!" 

6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal, which he had taken with tongs from the altar.

7 He touched my mouth with it and said, "Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin is purged."

8 After this I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here I am; send me."

9 Then he said, "Go and tell this people: 'Hearing you do not understand, and seeing you do not perceive.'"

10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes, so that they may hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn and be healed.

11 Then I said, "How long, O Lord?" And he answered, "Until the cities are laid waste, without inhabitant, and the houses are without inhabitant, and the land is utterly desolate.

12 Then the Lord removes men from it, and there is great desolation in the midst of the land.

13 But if even a tenth of it remains, it will return to pasture. Like the oak and the holm oak, which, after they have fallen off, remain firm, so the holy seed will be its firmness."

1 No ano em que morreu o rei Uzias, eu vi ao Senhor assentado sobre um alto e sublime trono; e o seu séquito enchia o templo.

2 Os serafins estavam acima dele; cada um tinha seis asas: com duas cobriam os seus rostos, e com duas cobriam os seus pés e com duas voavam.

3 E clamavam uns para os outros, dizendo: Santo, santo, santo é o Senhor dos Exércitos: toda a terra está cheia da sua glória.

4 E os umbrais das portas se moveram com a voz do que clamava, e a casa se encheu de fumo.

5 Então disse eu: Ai de mim, que vou perecendo! Porque eu sou um homem de lábios impuros, e habito no meio de um povo de impuros lábios: e os meus olhos viram o rei, o Senhor dos Exércitos!

6 Mas um dos serafins voou para mim trazendo na sua mão uma brasa viva, que tirara do altar com uma tenaz;

7 E com ela tocou a minha boca, e disse: Eis que isto tocou os teus lábios; e a tua iniqüidade foi tirada, e purificado o teu pecado.

8 Depois disto ouvi a voz do Senhor, que dizia: A quem enviarei, e quem há de ir por nós? Então disse eu: Eis-me aqui envia-me a mim.

9 Então disse ele: Vai, e dize a este povo: Ouvis, de fato, e não entendeis, e vedes, em verdade, mas não percebeis.

10 Engorda o coração deste povo, e endurece-lhe os ouvidos, e fecha-lhe os olhos e a ouvir com os seus ouvidos, e a entender com o seu coração, e a converter-se, e a ser sarado.

11 Então disse eu: Até quando, Senhor? E respondeu: Até que se assolem as cidades, e fiquem sem habitantes, e nas casas não fique morador, e a terra seja assolada de todo.

12 E o Senhor afaste dela os homens e no meio da terra seja grande o desamparo.

13 Mas se ainda a décima parte dela ficar tornará a ser pastada: Como o carvalho, e como a azinheira, que, depois de se desfolharem, ainda ficam firmes, assim a santa semente será a firmeza dela.

1 अब मैं अपने प्रियतम के लिए उसकी दाख की बारी के विषय में गीत गाऊँगा। मेरे प्रियतम की एक उपजाऊ पहाड़ी पर एक दाख की बारी है।

2 उसने उसकी बाड़ लगाई, उसके पत्थर काटे और उसमें उत्तम दाखलताएँ लगाईं। उसने उसके बीच में एक मीनार बनाई और उसमें एक दाख की बारी भी खुदवाई। उसने आशा की थी कि उसमें अंगूर होंगे, परन्तु उसमें जंगली अंगूर ही मिले।

3 अब हे यरूशलेम के निवासियों और यहूदा के लोगों, मैं विनती करता हूँ कि मेरे और मेरी दाख की बारी के बीच न्याय करो।

25 इसलिए यहोवा का क्रोध उसकी प्रजा पर भड़क उठा, और उसने उन पर हाथ बढ़ाकर उन्हें मारा, जिससे पहाड़ काँप उठे, और उनकी लाशें गोबर के समान हो गईं सड़कों के बीच में। इतने पर भी उसका क्रोध शान्त नहीं हुआ, परन्तु उसका हाथ उठा ही रहा।

26 और वह दूर-दूर से जातियों के लिये एक झण्डा खड़ा करेगा, और पृथ्वी की छोर से सीटी बजाकर उन्हें बुलाएगा; और देखो, वे फुर्ती से आएंगे।

27 उनमें कोई थका हुआ या लंगड़ा न होगा; कोई ऊंघेगा या सोएगा नहीं। उनकी कमर का पटका न खुलेगा, न उनके जूतों का बन्ध टूटेगा।

28 उनके तीर तीखे और उनके सब धनुष तने हुए होंगे; उनके घोड़ों के खुर चकमक पत्थर के समान और उनके रथों के पहिये बवंडर के समान होंगे।

The Parable of the Vineyard and Its Application

1 Now I will sing to my beloved the song of my beloved concerning his vineyard. My beloved has a vineyard on a fertile hill.

2 He fenced it, cleared it of stones, and planted it with the choicest vines. He built a tower in the middle of it and also dug a winepress in it. He expected it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.

3 Now therefore, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, between me and my vineyard.

4 What more could have been done to my vineyard that I have not done to it? And how, when I expected it to yield grapes, did it yield wild grapes?

5 Now therefore I will show you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it will be used for food; I will break down its wall, so that it will be trampled underfoot; 

6 I will make it a desolation; it will not be pruned or dug, but briers and thorns will grow there. I will command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

7 For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the people of Judah are his pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but here comes oppression; for righteousness, but here comes a cry.

8 Woe to those who join house to house, who join field to field, until there is no more room, and they are left alone in the midst of the land!

9 In my ears the Lord of hosts said: "Surely many houses will be desolate, even great and noble houses without inhabitant.

10 And ten acres of vineyard will yield no more than a bath, and a homer of seed will yield no more than an ephah.

11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning and pursue drunkenness; and they linger until night, until wine inflames them!

12 And harps and lutes, tambourines and pipes, and wine are in their feasts; and they regard not the work of the Lord, nor consider the work of his hands.

13 Therefore my people are led away captive for lack of knowledge; and their nobles will go hungry, and their multitude will be parched with thirst.

14 Therefore the grave has enlarged their appetite, and opened their mouths beyond measure; and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and those who rejoiced among them, have descended to it.

15 Then the common man will be humbled, and the noble man will be humbled; and the eyes of the haughty will be humbled.

16 But the Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment, and God, the Holy One, will be sanctified in righteousness.

17 Then the lambs will feed as in their pasture; and the places trodden down by the fat will be food for strangers.

18 Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as with chariot ropes!

19 They say, "Let him hasten, and finish his work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it."

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter sweet, and sweet bitter!

21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

22 Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mix strong drink;

23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe, and deny justice to the righteous! 

24 Therefore, as the tongue of fire consumes tow, and the chaff is consumed by the flame, so their root will be like rottenness, and their blossom will fade like dust, because they have rejected the law of the Lord of hosts, and have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

25 Therefore the Lord's anger was kindled against his people, and he stretched out his hand against them and struck them, so that the mountains quaked, and their corpses were like dung in the midst of the streets. For all this, his anger did not turn back, but his hand was still lifted up.

26 And he will lift up a standard to the nations from afar, and will whistle to them from the ends of the earth; and, behold, they will come in haste.

27 There will be no weary or lame among them; no one will slumber or sleep. The girdle on their loins will not be untied, nor the latchet on their sandals be broken.

28 Their arrows will be sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses' hoofs will be like flint, and their chariot wheels a whirlwind.

29 Their roaring will be like a lion's; they will roar like young lions; they will roar and seize the prey, and carry it away, and there will be no one to rescue it.

30 And they will roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea. If anyone looks to the land, behold, there will be darkness and distress, and the light will be darkened in its desolations.

1 Agora cantarei ao meu amado o cântico do meu querido a respeito da sua vinha. O meu amado tem uma vinha num outeiro fértil.

2 E a cercou, e a limpou das pedras, e a plantou de excelentes vides; e edificou no meio dela uma torre, e também construiu nela um lagar; e esperava que desse uvas, mas deu uvas bravas.

3 Agora pois, ó moradores de Jerusalém, e homens de Judá julgai, vos peço, entre mim e a minha vinha.

4 Que mais se podia fazer à minha vinha, que eu lhe não tenha feito? E como, esperando eu que desse uvas, veio a produzir uvas bravas?

5 Agora pois vos farei saber o que eu hei de fazer à minha vinha: tirarei a sua sebe, para que sirva de pasto; derrubarei a sua parede, para que seja pisada;

6 E a tornarei em deserto; não será podada nem cavada; mas crescerão nela sarças e espinheiros; e às nuvens darei ordem que não derramem chuva sobre ela.

7 Porque a vinha do Senhor dos Exércitos é a casa de Israel, e os homens de Judá são a planta das suas delícias: e esperou que exercessem juízo, e eis aqui opressão; justiça, e eis aqui clamor.

8 Ai dos que ajuntam casa a casa, reúnem herdade a herdade, até que não haja mais lugar, e fiquem como únicos moradores no meio da terra!

9 A meus ouvidos disse o Senhor dos Exércitos: Em verdade que muitas casas ficarão desertas, e até as grandes e excelentes sem moradores.

10 E dez geiras de vinha não darão mais do que um bato: e um homer de semente não dará mais do que um efa.

11 Ai dos que se levantam pela manhã, e seguem a bebedice; e se demoram até à noite, até que o vinho os esquenta!

12 E harpas e alaúdes, tamboris e pífanos, e vinho há nos seus banquetes; e não olham para a obra do Senhor, nem consideram as obras das suas mãos.

13 Portanto o meu povo será levado cativo, por falta de entendimento; e os seus nobres terão fome, e a sua multidão se secará de sede.

14 Por isso a sepultura aumentou o seu apetite, e abril a sua boca desmesuradamente; e a glória deles, e a sua multidão, e a sua pompa, e os que entre eles folgavam, a ela desceram.

15 Então o plebeu se abaterá, e o nobre se humilhará; e os olhos dos altivos se humilharão.

16 Mas o Senhor dos Exércitos será exaltado em juízo, e Deus, o Santo, será santificado em justiça.

17 Então os cordeiros se pascerão como em pastios seus; e os lugares pisados pelos gordos servirão de alimento a forasteiros.

18 Ai dos que puxam pela iniqüidade com cordas de vaidade, e pelo pecado como se fosse com cordas de carros!

19 E dizem: Avie-se, e acabe a sua obra, para que a vejamos; e aproxime-se e venha o conselho do Santo de Israel, para que o conheçamos.

20 Ai dos que ao mal chamam bem, e ao bem mal: que fazem da escuridade luz, e da luz escuridade; e fazem do amrgo doce, e do doce amargo!

21 Ai dos que são sábios a seus próprios olhos, e prudentes diante de si mesmos!

22 Ai dos que são poderosos para beber vinho, e homens forçosos para misturar bebida forte:

23 Dos que justificam o ímpio por presentes, e ao justo negam justiça!

24 Pelo que, como a língua de fogo consome a estopa, e a palha se desfaz pela chama, assim será a sua raiz, como podridão, e a sua flor se esvaecerá como pó; porquanto rejeitaram a lei do Senhor dos Exércitos, e desprezaram a palavra do Santo de Israel.

25 Pelo que se acendeu a ira do Senhor contra o seu povo, e estendeu a sua mão contra ele, e o feriu, e as montanhas tremeram, e os seus cadáveres eram como monturo no meio das ruas: com tudo isso não tornou atrás a sua ira, mas ainda está alçada a sua mão.

26 E ele arvorará o estandarte ante as nações de longe, e lhes assobiará desde a extremidade da terra: e eis que virão apressadamente.

27 Não haverá entre eles cansado, nem claudicante; ninguém tosquenejará nem dormirá: não se lhe desatará o cinto dos seus lombos, nem se lhe quebrará a correia dos seus sapatos.

28 As suas flechas serão agudas, e todos os seus arcos retesados; as unhas dos seus cavalos dir-se-iam de pederneira, e as rodas dos seus carros um redemoinho.

29 O seu rugido será como o do leão; rugirão como filhos de leão; sim, rugirão e arrebatarão a presa, e a levarão, e não haverá quem a livre.

30 E bramarão contra eles naquele dia, como o bramido do mar: e se alguém olhar para a terra, eis que só verá trevas e ânsia, e a luz se escurecerá em suas assolações.

2 उस दिन यहोवा की शाखा सुन्दर और महिमामय होगी, और भूमि की उपज उत्तम और इस्राएल से बचाए गए लोगों को भाएगी।

3 जो सिय्योन में बचा रहेगा और यरूशलेम में रहेगा, वह पवित्र कहलाएगा, अर्थात् यरूशलेम में रहनेवालों में जिसका नाम लिखा है।

4 जब यहोवा न्याय की आत्मा और भस्म करने वाली आत्मा के द्वारा सिय्योन की पुत्रियों की गन्दगी धो देगा और यरूशलेम के खून को उसके बीच से शुद्ध कर देगा।

5 और यहोवा सिय्योन पर्वत के सब निवासस्थानों और उसकी सभाओं के ऊपर दिन में धुएँ और बादल, और रात में धधकती आग का तेज उत्पन्न करेगा; क्योंकि सारी महिमा पर सुरक्षा होगी। 

6 और वहां एक तम्बू होगा जो दिन की तपन से छाया, और आंधी और वर्षा से शरण और आड़ का काम देगा।

1 And seven women will take hold of one man in that day, saying, "We will eat our own bread and wear our own garments; only let us be called by your name; take away our reproach."

2 In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be excellent and pleasing to those who are saved from Israel.

3 He who is left in Zion and who remains in Jerusalem will be called holy, everyone who is written among the living in Jerusalem.

4 When the Lord washes away the filth of the daughters of Zion and purges the blood of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning.

5 And the Lord will create over all the dwelling places of Mount Zion and over her congregations a cloud and smoke by day, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for protection will be over all the glory. 

6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shade from the heat of the day, and for a refuge and a covert from the storm and from the rain.

1 E sete mulheres naquele dia lançarão mão de um homem, dizendo: Nós comeremos do nosso pão, e nos vestiremos de nossos vestidos: tão-somente queremos que sejamos chamadas pelo teu nome; tira o nosso opróbrio.

2 Naquele dia o Renovo do Senhor será cheio de beleza e de glória; e o fruto da terra excelente e formoso para os que escaparem de Israel.

3 Será que aquele que ficar em Sião e o que permanecer em Jerusalém, será chamado santo: todo aquele que estiver inscrito entre os vivos em Jerusalém;

4 Quando o Senhor lavar a imundícia das filhas de Sião, e limpar o sangue de Jerusalém do meio dela, com o espírito de justiça, e com o espírito de ardor.

5 E criará o Senhor sobre toda a habitação do monte de Sião, e sobre as suas congregações, uma nuvem de dia, e um fumo, e um resplendor de fogo chamejante de noite; porque sobre toda a glória haverá proteção.

6 E haverá um tabernáculo para sombra contra o calor do dia; e para refúgio e esconderijo contra a tempestade e contra a chuva.

4 और मैं उनके लिये जवानों को हाकिम बनाऊँगा, और बच्चे उन पर शासन करेंगे।

5 और प्रजा पर अत्याचार होगा; एक दूसरे के विरुद्ध होगा, और हर एक अपने पड़ोसी के विरुद्ध होगा; बच्चा बूढ़ों के विरुद्ध और नीच मनुष्य कुलीनों के विरुद्ध निर्भीक होगा।

6 जब कोई अपने पिता के घर में अपने भाई के पास जाए, और कहे, 'तेरे पास वस्त्र हैं; हमारा प्रधान बन, और इस उजड़े हुए को अपने अधीन कर;'

13 यहोवा वाद-विवाद करने के लिए उठता है, और लोगों का न्याय करने के लिए निकलता है।

14 यहोवा अपनी प्रजा के पुरनियों और उनके हाकिमों पर न्याय करने को आया है; क्योंकि तुम ही हो जिन्होंने इस दाख की बारी को खा लिया है; कंगालों की लूट तुम्हारे घरों में है।

15 सेनाओं के परमेश्वर यहोवा की यही वाणी है, तुम मेरी प्रजा को क्यों सताते हो और कंगालों का मुँह क्यों पीसते हो?

16 इसके अलावा, यहोवा कहता है: क्योंकि सिय्योन की बेटियाँ घमण्डी हैं, और गर्दन तानकर चलती हैं, और उनके चेहरे पर वासना भरी है, और जब वे चलती हैं, तो ऐसा लगता है मानो वे नाच रही हों, और उनके पैर खड़खड़ा रहे हों:

24 और सुगंध की जगह दुर्गंध होगी, और कमरबंद की जगह डोरी, और घुंघराले बालों की जगह गंजापन, और ढीले वस्त्र की जगह टाट, और सुन्दरता की जगह जलन होगी।

1 For behold, the Lord God of hosts will take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the rod and the staff, all staff of bread, and all thirst for water;

2 The mighty man, and the soldier, the judge, the prophet, the soothsayer, and the ancient;

3 The captain of fifty, and the wise among the craftsmen, and the eloquent;

4 And I will give them young men for princes, and children shall rule over them.

5 And the people shall be oppressed; one shall be against another, and every man against his neighbor: the child shall be bold against the old, and the base man against the noble.

6 When a man goes to his brother in his father's house, and says, 'You have clothing; be our prince, and take this ruin under your hand;'

7 In that day he will cry out, saying, "I cannot be a physician, nor is there bread or clothing in my house; do not make me a ruler of the people."

8 For Jerusalem has stumbled, and Judah has fallen; because their tongue and their deeds are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

9 The very look on their faces testifies against them; they proclaim their sins like Sodom; they do not conceal them. Woe to their souls! For they are injuring themselves.

10 Tell the righteous that it will be well with them, for they will eat the fruit of their own deeds.

11 Woe to the wicked! It will be ill with them, for the reward of their hands will be given to them.

12 The oppressors of my people are children, and women are at the head of their government. Ah, my people! Those who lead you deceive you and destroy the way of your paths. 

13 The Lord arises to plead, and goes out to judge the peoples.

14 The Lord comes to judgment against the elders of his people, and against their princes; for it is you who have devoured this vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

15 Why do you afflict my people and grind the faces of the poor? declares the Lord, the God of hosts.

16 Moreover the Lord says: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with outstretched necks, and have wanton looks, and when they walk, it is as if they were dancing, and rattle with their feet:

17 Therefore the Lord will make the heads of the daughters of Zion scaly, and the Lord will uncover their nakedness. 

18 In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of garters, the fishnets, and the lunettes;

19 the earrings, the bracelets, and the glittering garments;

20 the headbands, the armlets, the chains, the perfume boxes, and the earrings;

21 the rings, and the nose jewels;

22 the evening dresses, the robes, the bonnets, and the brooches;

23 the mirrors, the fine linen garments, the headdresses, and the veils.

24 And instead of a sweet aroma there will be stench, and instead of a girdle a cord; and instead of a curler, baldness; and instead of a loose garment, sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

25 And her gates will lament and mourn, and she will sit desolate on the ground.

1 Porque eis que o Senhor Deus dos Exércitos tirará de Jerusalém e de Judá o bordão e o cajado, todo o sustento de pão, e toda a sede de água;

2 O valente, e o soldado, o juiz, e o profeta, e o adivinho, e o ancião;

3 O capitão de cinqüenta, e o sábio entre os artífices e o eloqüente;

4 E dar-lhes-ei mancebos por príncipes, e crianças governarão sobre eles.

5 E o povo será oprimido; um será contra o outro, e cada um contra o seu próximo: o menino se atreverá contra o ancião, e o vil contra o nobre.

6 Quando algum for ter com seu irmão à casa de seu pai, dizendo: Tu tens roupa, sê nosso príncipe, e toma sob a tua mão esta ruína;

7 Naquele dia levantará este a sua voz dizendo: Não posso ser médico, nem tampouco há em minha casa pão, ou vestido algum: não me ponhais por príncipe do povo.

8 Porque Jerusalém tropeçou, e Judá caiu; porquanto a sua língua e as suas obras são contra o Senhor, para irritarem os olhos da sua glória.

9 O parecer do seu rosto testifica contra eles: e publicam os seus pecados como Sodoma: não os dissimulam. Ai da sua alma! Porque se fazem mal a si mesmos.

10 Dizei aos justos que bem lhes irá: porque comerão do fruto das suas obras.

11 Ai do ímpio! Mal lhe irá: porque a recompensa das suas mãos se lhe dará.

12 Os opressores do meu povo são crianças, e mulheres estão à testa do seu governo ah! Povo meu! Os que te guiam te enganam, e destroem o caminho das tuas veredas.

13 O Senhor se levanta para pleitear, e sai a julgar os povos.

14 O Senhor vem em juízo contra os anciãos do seu povo, e contra os seus príncipes: é que fostes vós que consumistes esta vinha; o espólio do pobre está em vossas casas.

15 Que tendes vós que afligir o meu povo e moer as faces do pobre? Diz o Senhor, o Deus dos Exércitos.

16 Diz ainda mais o Senhor: Porquanto as filhas de Sião se exaltam, e andam de pescoço erguido, e têm olhares impudentes, e, quando andam, como que vão dançando, e cascavelando com os pés:

17 Portanto o Senhor fará tinhosa a cabeça das filhas de Sião, e o Senhor porá a descoberto a sua nudez.

18 Naquele dia tirará o Senhor o enfeite das ligas, e as redezinhas, e as luetas:

19 Os pendentes, e as manilhas, e os vestidos resplandecentes;

20 Os diademas, e os enfeites dos braços, e as cadeias, e as caixinhas de perfumes e as arrecadas:

21 Os anéis, e as jóias pendentes do nariz:

22 Os vestidos de festa, e os mantos, e as coifas, e os alfinetes;

23 Os espelhos, e as capinhas de linho finíssimas, e as toucas, e os véus.

24 E será que em lugar de cheiro suave haverá fedor, e por cinto uma corda; e em lugar de encrespadora de cabelos, calvície, e em lugar de veste larga, cilício; e queimadura em lugar de formosura.

25 E as suas portas gemerão e se carpirão e ela se assentará no chão, desolada.

1 आमोस के पुत्र यशायाह ने यहूदा और यरूशलेम के विषय में जो दर्शन देखा।

2 और अन्तिम दिनों में ऐसा होगा कि यहोवा के भवन का पर्वत सब पहाड़ों पर दृढ़ किया जाएगा, और सब पहाड़ियों से अधिक ऊँचा किया जाएगा; और सब जातियाँ उसकी ओर धारा की नाईं चलेंगी।

3 और बहुत से लोग आकर कहेंगे, आओ, हम यहोवा के पर्वत पर, याकूब के परमेश्वर के भवन पर चढ़ें; कि वह हमें अपने मार्ग सिखाए, और हम उसके पथों पर चलें; क्योंकि सिय्योन से व्यवस्था और यरूशलेम से यहोवा का वचन निकलेगा।

4 और वह जाति-जाति के लोगों का न्याय करेगा, और बहुत सी जातियों को फटकारेगा; और वे अपनी तलवारें पीटकर हल के फाल और अपने भालों को हंसिया बनाएँगे; तब एक जाति दूसरी जाति के विरुद्ध तलवार न चलाएगी, और न वे आगे को युद्ध की विद्या सीखेंगे।

5 हे याकूब के घराने, आओ, हम यहोवा के प्रकाश में चलें।

6 परन्तु तू ने अपनी प्रजा, अर्थात् याकूब के घराने को त्याग दिया है, क्योंकि वे पूर्व की रीतियों से भरे हुए हैं; वे पलिश्तियों के समान टोना-टोटका करनेवाले हैं; वे परदेशियों के साथ संगति करते हैं।

7 उनका देश चाँदी और सोने से भरा है, और उनके खज़ानों का अन्त नहीं; उनका देश घोड़ों से भरा है, और उनके रथों की कोई सीमा नहीं।

8 उनका देश मूरतों से भरा है; वे अपने हाथों के काम को, अपनी उंगलियों की बनाई हुई वस्तुओं को दण्डवत् करते हैं।

9 वहाँ लोग दीन किए जाते हैं, और कुलीन लोग दीन किए जाते हैं: इसलिए तू उन्हें न छोड़ेगा। 

10 यहोवा के भययोग्य चेहरे और उसके प्रताप से दूर, जा, चट्टानों में घुस जा और धूल में छिप जा।

11 मनुष्य की घमण्ड भरी आँखें नीची की जाएँगी और मनुष्यों का घमण्ड कुचला जाएगा; और उस दिन केवल यहोवा ही महान होगा।

12 क्योंकि सेनाओं के यहोवा का दिन सब घमण्डियों और अहंकारियों के विरुद्ध और सब महान लोगों के विरुद्ध आएगा, और उन्हें नीचा किया जाएगा;

13 और लबानोन के सब देवदारों के विरुद्ध, जो ऊँचे और ऊँचे हैं, और बाशान के सब बांज वृक्षों के विरुद्ध;

14 और सब ऊँचे पहाड़ों और सब ऊँची पहाड़ियों के विरुद्ध;

15 और सब ऊँचे गुम्मट और सब दृढ़ शहरपनाह के विरुद्ध;

16 और तर्शीश के सब जहाजों और सब मनभावनी मूर्तियों के विरुद्ध।

17 और मनुष्य का घमण्ड कुचला जाएगा और मनुष्यों का घमण्ड नीचा किया जाएगा; और उस दिन केवल यहोवा ही महान होगा।

18 और सभी मूर्तियाँ पूरी तरह से गायब हो जाएँगी।

19 तब लोग यहोवा के भय और उसके प्रताप के कारण, जब वह पृथ्वी को हिलाने के लिए उठेगा, चट्टानों की खोखलियों और धरती की गुफाओं में जा घुसेंगे।

20 उस दिन लोग अपनी चाँदी और सोने की मूरतों को, जिन्हें उन्होंने अपने सामने दण्डवत् करने के लिए बनाया था, छछूंदरों और चमगादड़ों के आगे फेंक देंगे।

21 और वे यहोवा के भय और उसके प्रताप के कारण, जब वह पृथ्वी को हिलाने के लिए उठेगा, चट्टानों की दरारों और चट्टानों की गुफाओं में जा घुसेंगे।

22 इसलिए उस मनुष्य को छोड़ दो जिसकी साँस उसके नथुनों में है: उसे क्या समझा जाएगा?

1 The vision that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills: and all nations shall flow unto it.

3 And many people shall come and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; that he may teach us his ways, and we may walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many peoples: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

5 Come, O house of Jacob, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

6 But you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled with the customs of the east; they are soothsayers like the Philistines; they associate with the sons of strangers.

7 Their land is full of silver and gold, and there is no end to their treasures; their land is also full of horses, and their chariots are endless.

8 Their land is also full of idols: they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their fingers have made.

9 There the people are humbled, and the nobles are humbled: therefore you will not spare them. 

10 Go, enter into the rocks, and hide yourself in the dust, from the awesome presence of the Lord and from the glory of his majesty.

11 The lofty looks of man will be humbled, and the haughtiness of men will be humbled; and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.

12 For the day of the Lord of hosts will be against all that is proud and lofty, and against all that is exalted, so that it will be brought low;

13 And against all the cedars of Lebanon, the high and lifted up, and against all the oaks of Bashan;

14 And against all the high mountains, and against all the lofty hills;

15 And against every high tower, and against every strong wall;

16 And against all the ships of Tarshish, and against all the desirable pictures. 

17 And the loftiness of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down; and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

18 And all idols shall utterly vanish.

19 Then men shall go into the hollows of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, because of the terror of the Lord, and because of the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake the earth.

20 In that day men shall cast their idols of silver, and their idols of gold, which they made to bow down before them, to the moles and to the bats.

21 And they shall go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the caves of the cliffs, because of the terror of the Lord, and because of the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake the earth.

22 Therefore leave the man whose breath is in his nostrils: for what shall he be regarded?

1 Visão que teve Isaías, filho de Amós, a respeito de Judá e de Jerusalém.

2 E acontecerá nos últimos dias que se firmará o monte da casa do Senhor no cume dos montes e se exalçará por cima dos outeiros: e concorrerão a ele todas as nações.

3 E virão muitos povos, e dirão: Vinde, e subamos ao monte do Senhor, à casa do Deus de Jacó, para que nos ensine o que concerne aos seus caminhos, e andemos nas suas veredas; porque de Sião sairá a lei, e de Jerusalém a palavra do Senhor.

4 E ele exercerá o seu juízo sobre as gentes, e repreenderá a muitos povos; e estes converterão as suas espadas em enxadões e as suas lanças em foices: não levantará espada nação contra nação, nem aprenderão mais a guerrear.

5 Vinde, ó casa de Jacó: e andemos na luz do Senhor.

6 Mas tu desamparaste o teu povo, a casa de Jacó, porque se encheram dos costumes do oriente e são agoureiros, como os filisteus; e se associam com os filhos dos estranhos.

7 E a sua terra está cheia de prata e ouro, e não têm fim os seus tesouros: também está cheia a sua terra de cavalos, e os seus carros não têm fim.

8 Também está cheia a sua terra de ídolos: inclinam-se perante a obra das suas mãos, diante daquilo que fabricaram os seus dedos.

9 Ali o povo se abate, e os nobres se humilham: portanto lhes não perdoarás.

10 Vai, entra nas rochas, e esconde-te no pó, da presença espantosa do Senhor e da glória da sua majestade.

11 Os olhos altivos dos homens serão abatidos, e a altivez dos varões será humilhada: e só o Senhor será exaltado naquele dia.

12 Porque o dia do Senhor dos Exércitos será contra todo o soberbo e altivo, e contra todo o que se exalta, para que seja abatido;

13 E contra todos os cedros do Líbano, altos e sublimes; e contra todos os carvalhos de Basã;

14 E contra todos os montes altos, e contra todos os outeiros elevados;

15 E contra toda a torre alta, e contra todo o muro firme;

16 E contra todos os navios de Társis, e contra todas as pinturas desejáveis.

17 E a altivez do homem será humilhada, e a altivez dos varões se abaterá, e só o Senhor será exaltado naquele dia.

18 E todos os ídolos totalmente desaparecerão.

19 Então os homens se meterão nas concavidades das rochas, e nas cavernas da terra, por causa da presença espantosa do Senhor, e por causa da glória da sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para assombrar a terra.

20 Naquele dia o homem lançará às toupeiras e aos morcegos os seus ídolos de prata, e os seus ídolos de ouro, que fizeram para ante eles se prostrarem.

21 E meter-se-á pelas fendas das rochas, e pelas cavernas das penhas, por causa da presença espantosa do Senhor, e por causa da glória da sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para assombrar a terra.

22 Deixai-vos pois o homem cujo fôlego está no seu nariz; porque em que se deve ele estimar?
