God Gives Job Twice as Much Prosperity as He Had Before

10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends; and the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11 Then all his brothers and all his sisters, and all who had known him before, came to him, and ate bread with him in his house. They mourned for him and comforted him for all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him. They each gave him a piece of money and each a gold earring.

12 And the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys.

13 He also had seven sons and three daughters.

14 And he called the name of the first Jemima, and the name of the other Cassia, and the name of the third Keren-happuk.

15 And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them an inheritance among their brethren.

16 And after this Job lived an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even to the fourth generation.

17 And Job died, being old and full of days.

10 E o Senhor virou o cativeiro de Jó, quando orava pelos seus amigos; e o Senhor acrescentou a Jó outro tanto em dobro a tudo quanto dantes possuía.

11 Então vieram a ele todos os seus irmãos e todas as suas irmãs e todos quantos dantes o conheceram, e comeram com ele pão em sua casa, e se condoeram dele, e o consolaram de todo o mal que o Senhor lhe havia enviado; e cada um deles lhe deu uma peça de dinheiro, e cada um um pendente de ouro.

12 E assim abençoou o Senhor o último estado de Jó, mais do que o primeiro; porque teve catorze mil ovelhas, e seis mil camelos, e mil juntas de bois, e mil jumentas.

13 Também teve sete filhos e três filhas.

14 E chamou o nome da primeira Jemima, e o nome da outra Cássia, e o nome da terceira Quéren-Hapuque.

15 E em toda a terra não se acharam mulheres tão formosas como as filhas de Jó; e seu pai lhes deu herança entre seus irmãos.

16 E depois disto viveu Jó cento e quarenta anos; e viu a seus filhos, e aos filhos de seus filhos, até à quarta geração.

17 Então morreu Jó, velho e farto de dias.

7 Now it came to pass, when the Lord had finished speaking these words to Job, that the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My anger is kindled against you and against your two friends, because you have not spoken of me the right thing, as my servant Job has.

8 Now take seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and I will offer burnt offerings for you; and my servant Job will pray for you; for I will surely accept him, so that I will not deal with you according to your folly, because you have not spoken of me the right thing, as my servant Job has.

9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord had told them; and the Lord accepted Job's favor.

7 Sucedeu pois que, acabando o Senhor de dizer a Jó aquelas palavras, o Senhor disse a Elifaz, o temanita: A minha ira se acendeu contra ti, e contra os teus dois amigos; porque não dissestes de mim o que era reto, como o meu servo Jó.

8 Tomai pois sete bezerros e sete carneiros, e ide ao meu servo Jó, e oferecerei holocaustos por vós; e o meu servo Jó orará por vós; porque deveras a ele aceitarei, para que eu vos não trate conforme a vossa loucura; porque vós não falastes de mim o que era reto como o meu servo Jó.

9 Então foram Elifaz, o temanita, e Bildade, o suíta, e Sofar, o naamatita, e fizeram como o Senhor lhes dissera; e o Senhor aceitou a face de Jó.

1 Then Job answered the Lord and said,

2 I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

3 Who, say you, is he who conceals counsel without knowledge? Therefore I have spoken of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, and I did not comprehend them.

4 Hearken to me, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will teach me.

5 I have heard with the hearing of my ears, but now my eyes see you.

6 Therefore I abhor myself, and I repent in dust and ashes.

23 उसकी मांसपेशियाँ एक दूसरे से जुड़ी हुई हैं; हर कोई इसमें दृढ़ है, और कोई भी हिलता नहीं है।

24 उसका हृदय पत्थर के समान दृढ़ और चक्की के छोटे पाट के समान दृढ़ है।

25 जब वह उठता है, तो शूरवीर काँप उठते हैं; उनके आघातों के कारण वे शुद्ध हो जाते हैं।

32 उसके पीछे वह मार्ग रोशन करता है; ऐसा लग रहा है जैसे खाई सफ़ेद भूरे बालों में बदल गई हो।

33 पृथ्वी पर कोई भी वस्तु उसके तुल्य नहीं है, क्योंकि वह निर्भय बनाया गया है।

34 जो कुछ ऊँचा है वह देखता है; वह सभी घमंडी पशुओं के बच्चों का राजा है।

1 Can you catch leviathan with a hook, or can you bind his tongue with a rope?

2 Can you put a rope in his nose, or can you pierce his jawbone with a thorn?

3 Will he make many supplications to me? Or will he speak softly to you?

4 Will he make a covenant with you, or will you take him as your slave forever?

5 Will you play with him as with a bird, or will you trap him for your girls?

6 Will his companions make him a feast, or will they divide him among the merchants?

7 Will you fill his skin with hooks, or his head with fishermen's hooks?

8 Lay your hand upon him, remember the battle, and do it no more.

9 Behold, his hope shall fail: shall no one be overthrown before his eyes? 

10 There is no one so bold as to rouse him; who is he who dares to stand before me?

11 Who has given to me first, that I should repay him? For everything under the whole heaven is mine.

12 I will not keep silent about his limbs, nor the combination of his strength, nor the grace of his countenance.

13 Who can uncover the surface of his garment? Who can enter between his folded jaws?

14 Who can open the doors of his face? For terror is all around his teeth.

15 His strong scales are most excellent, each one closed as with a tight seal.

16 They come so close to each other that no breath passes between them.

17 They are joined together; They cling so tightly together that they cannot be separated.

 18 His every sneeze makes the light shine, and his eyes are like the eyelashes of the morning. 

19 Torches come out of his mouth; sparks of fire leap from it. 

20 Smoke comes out of his nostrils, as from a boiling pot or a great caldron. 

21 His breath kindles coals, and flames come out of his mouth.

 22 Strength rests on his neck; even sorrow leaps before him with joy. 

23 The muscles of his flesh are stuck together; each one stands firm in him, and no one moves. 

24 His heart is as firm as a stone and as firm as the millstone. 

25 When he rises, the mighty men tremble; by his shaking they are purified. 

26 If anyone touches him with a sword, it cannot penetrate; neither can spear, dart, or arrow.

 27 He considers iron straw, and copper rotten wood.

28 The arrow will not make him flee; slingstones become stubble to him.

29 Slung stones are like sharp edges to him; he laughs at the brandishing of a spear.

30 He has sharp shells under him; he stretches out on sharp things as in the mire.

31 He makes the depths boil like a pot; he makes the sea boil like ointment.

32 He gives light to the way after him; the deep is like gray-haired whiteness.

33 There is nothing on earth that can be bought for him, for he was made to be without fear.

34 Every high one sees; he is king over all the offspring of proud beasts.

19 Da sua boca saem tochas; faíscas de fogo saltam dela.

20 Do seu nariz procede fumo, como duma panela fervente, ou duma grande caldeira.

21 O seu hálito faria acender os carvões; e da sua boca sai chama.

22 No seu pescoço pousa a força; perante ele até a tristeza salta de prazer.

23 Os músculos da sua carne estão pegados entre si; cada um está firme nele, e nenhum se move.

25 Levantando-se ele, tremem os valentes; em razão dos seus abalos se purificam.

2 क्या शिक्षा देने के लिये सर्वशक्तिमान से झगड़ा करना पड़ता है? जो कोई परमेश्वर से इस प्रकार विवाद करता है, उसे इन बातों का उत्तर देना चाहिए।

3 तब अय्यूब ने यहोवा को उत्तर दिया,

4 देख, मैं तो तुच्छ हूं; मैं तुम्हें क्या जवाब दूंगा? मैंने अपना हाथ अपने मुंह पर रख लिया।

5 मैं एक बार बोल चुका, और अब उत्तर नहीं दूंगा; या दो बार भी, लेकिन मैं जारी नहीं रखूंगा।

10 इसलिये अपने आप को सद्गुणता और ऐश्वर्य से सुसज्जित करो; और वैभव और महिमा से सुसज्जित हो।

11 अपना क्रोध भड़का दे, और हर एक घमण्डी पर दृष्टि करके उसे नीचा कर दे।

1 Then the Lord answered Job and said,

2 Is it a matter of instruction to contend with the Almighty? Let him who thus reproves God answer these things.

3 Then Job answered the Lord and said,

4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I put my hand upon my mouth.

5 Once have I spoken, and will not answer; yea, twice, and will not proceed.

6 Then the Lord answered Job out of the storm, and said,

7 Gird up thy loins now like a man; I will question thee, and thou shalt answer me.

8 Wilt thou also make my judgment void, or condemn me, that thou mayest justify thyself?

9 Hast thou an arm like God, or canst thou thunder with a voice like his?

10 Deck thyself therefore with majesty and loftiness; and clothe thyself with majesty and glory.

11 Pour out your fierce anger, and look upon all who are proud, and bring them low.

12 Look upon all who are proud, and humble them, and trample the wicked in their place.

13 Hide them together in the dust; cover their faces in secret.

14 Then I will confess to you that your right hand has delivered you.

15 Consider now the behemoth, which I made with you; he eats grass like an ox.

16 Behold, his strength is in his loins, and his power in the muscles of his belly.

17 When he wishes, he moves his tail like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are interwoven.

18 His bones are like tubes of bronze; his frame is like bars of iron.

19 He is the masterpiece of the ways of God; he who made him provided him with his sword. 

20 Surely the mountains yield him food, where all the beasts of the field play.

21 He lies down under the shady trees, in the covert of the reeds and the mire.

22 The shady trees cover him with their shade; the willows of the brook surround him.

23 Behold, a river overflows, and he does not hurry, though the Jordan may swell to his mouth.

24 Can they hunt him before his eyes, or put a snare through his nose?

1 Respondeu mais o Senhor a Jó e disse:

2 Porventura o contender contra o Todo-poderoso é ensinar? Quem assim argui a Deus, responda a estas coisas.

3 Então Jó respondeu ao Senhor, e disse:

4 Eis que sou vil; que te responderia eu? A minha mão ponho na minha boca.

5 Uma vez tenho falado, e não replicarei; ou ainda duas vezes, porém não prosseguirei.

6 Então o Senhor respondeu a Jó desde a tempestade, e disse:

7 Cinge agora os teus lombos como varão; eu te perguntarei a ti, e tu me responderás.

8 Porventura também farás tu vão o meu juízo, ou me condenarás, para te justificares?

9 Ou tens braço como Deus, ou podes trovejar com voz como a sua?

10 Orna-te pois de excelência e alteza; e veste-te de majestade e de glória.

11 Derrama os furores da tua ira, e atenta para todo o soberbo, e abate-o.

12 Olha para todo o soberbo, e humilha-o, e atropela os ímpios no seu lugar.

13 Esconde-os juntamente no pó; atalhes os rostos em oculto.

14 Então também eu de ti confessarei que a tua mão direita te haverá livrado.

15 Contempla agora o beemote, que eu fiz contigo, que come a erva como o boi.

16 Eis que a sua força está nos seus lombos, e o seu poder nos músculos do seu ventre.

17 Quando quer, move a sua cauda como cedro; os nervos das suas coxas estão entretecidos.

18 Os seus ossos são como tubos de bronze; a sua ossada é como barras de ferro.

19 Ele é obra prima dos caminhos de Deus; o que o fez o proveu da sua espada.

20 Em verdade os montes lhe produzem pasto, onde todos os animais do campo folgam.

1 Do you know the time of the wild goats' young, or the pain of the hinds?

2 Do you count the months they fulfill? Or do you know the time of their birth?

3 They bow down to have their young, and cast away their pain.

4 Their young grow stiff, they grow up with the grain, they go out, and never return to them.

5 Who has sent out the wild donkey free? Or who has loosed the bands of the wild ass?

6 Whose home I have made the wilderness, and the salt land his dwellings?

7 He laughs at the noise of the city; he does not hear the many cries of the taskmaster.

8 He who searches the mountains is his pasture, and seeks out every green thing.

9 Will the unicorn serve you, or will he remain in your stable? 

10 Will you tie the unicorn to the trench with a rope, or will it break up the valleys after you?

11 Will you trust in him, because his strength is great, or will you leave your work to him?

12 Will you trust in him to bring back to you what you have sown and to gather it into your threshing floor?

13 The ostrich flaps her wings with joy, with the feathers of a stork.

14 She leaves her eggs on the ground and warms them in the dust.

27 Or does the eagle depart at your command, and make its nest on high?

28 It dwells and lives among the rocks, on the top of the rocks, and in strongholds.

1 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

2 Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?

3 Now gird up your loins like a man; and I will demand of you, and answer me.

4 Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.

5 Who has laid its measures, if you know? Or who has stretched the measuring line upon it?

6 On what are its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone,

7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

8 Or who shut in the sea with doors, when it overflowed and issued from its womb,

9 When I made the clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling cloth?

 10 When I passed my decree upon it, and set up its doors and bars, 

11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, and no further; and here shall thy swelling waves be broken? 

12 Or hast thou commanded the dawn since thy days, or hast thou shown the dawn its place; 

13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? 

14 Everything is changed as clay under a seal, and put on as a garment; 

15 And their light is withheld from the wicked, and the lofty arm is broken. 

16 Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea, or hast thou walked in the deepest depths? 

17 Or have the gates of death been discovered unto thee, or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

 18 Or hast thou with understanding reached the breadth of the earth? Tell me, if thou knowest all this. 

19 Where is the way where light dwells? And where is the darkness?

20 That you should bring it to its borders, and know the paths of its house?

21 Surely you know, for you were born then, and because the number of your days is great.

22 Or have you entered into the treasures of the snow, or seen the treasures of the hail,

23 Which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?

24 Where is the way where the light is divided, and the east wind is scattered over the earth?
