Doença e morte de Ezequias

24 Naqueles dias Ezequias adoeceu de morte; e orou ao Senhor, o qual lhe falou, e lhe deu um sinal.

25 Mas não correspondeu Ezequias ao benefício que se lhe fez; porque o seu coração se exaltou; pelo que veio grande indignação sobre ele, e sobre Judá e Jerusalém.

26 Ezequias porém se humilhou pela soberba do seu coração, ele e os habitantes de Jerusalém; e a grande indignação do Senhor não veio sobre eles, nos dias de Ezequias.

27 E teve Ezequias riquezas e glória em grande abundância: e fez-se tesouros de prata, e de ouro, e de pedras preciosas, e de especiarias, e de escudos, e de tudo o que se podia desejar.

28 Também armazéns para a colheita do trigo, e do mosto, e do azeite; e estrebarias para toda a casta de animais, e currais para os rebanhos.

29 Edificou também cidades, e possuiu ovelhas e vacas em abundância: porque Deus lhe tinha dado muitíssima fazenda.

30 Também mesmo Ezequias tapou o manancial superior das águas de Giom, e as fez correr por baixo para o ocidente da cidade de Davi; porque Ezequias prosperou em toda a sua obra.

31 Contudo, no negócio dos embaixadores dos príncipes de Babilônia, que foram enviados a ele, a perguntarem acerca do prodígio que se fez naquela terra, Deus o desamparou, para tenta-lo, para saber tudo o que havia no seu coração.

32 Quanto ao resto dos sucessos de Ezequias, e às suas beneficências, eis que estão escritos na visão do profeta Isaías, filho de Amós, e no livro dos reis de Judá e de Israel.

33 E dormiu Ezequias com seus pais, e o sepultaram no mais alto dos sepulcros dos filhos de Davi; e todo o Judá e os habitantes de Jerusalém lhe fizeram honras na sua morte: e Manassés, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

Sennacherib Invades Judah, and God Destroys His Army

1 After these things and this faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and entered Judah and encamped against the fortified cities, and intended to separate them for himself.

2 When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was coming and that he was set on war against Jerusalem,

3 He took counsel with his princes and his men to stop the springs of water that were outside the city, and they helped him.

4 So a large crowd gathered together, and they stopped all the springs and the brook that ran through the middle of the land, saying, “Why should the kings of Assyria come and find so much water?”

5 So he strengthened himself and built up all the broken wall, even to the towers, and raised up the other wall outside, and he fortified Millo in the city of David, and made weapons and shields in abundance. 

6 He placed officers of war over the people and gathered them to him in the square at the gate of the city. He spoke to them kindly, saying, 

7 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed because of the king of Assyria or because of all the hordes who are with him, for there is one greater with us than with him. 

8 With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles. And the people rested upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. 

​​9 After this Sennacherib king of Assyria sent his servants to Jerusalem (he was before Lachish with all his dominion), to Hezekiah king of Judah and to all Judah who were in Jerusalem, saying, 

10 Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria: On what do you trust, who remain in the stronghold of Jerusalem? 

11 Does not Hezekiah incite you to die by famine and thirst, saying, ‘The Lord our God will deliver us from the hand of the king of Assyria?’ 

12 Is it not Hezekiah who took away their high places and their altars, and spoke to Judah and Jerusalem, saying, ‘You shall worship before one altar and burn incense on it?’ 

13 Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands able to deliver their land out of my hand?

14 Who among all the gods of those nations that my fathers destroyed was able to deliver his people out of my hand, so that your God should be able to deliver you out of my hand?

15 Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor entice you, nor believe him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, nor out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of my hand?

16 Moreover his servants spake yet more against the Lord God, and against his servant Hezekiah.

17 And he wrote letters to blaspheme the Lord God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, Just as the gods of the nations of the lands have not delivered their people out of my hand, so also the God of Hezekiah will not deliver his people out of my hand.

18 And they cried out with a loud voice in the Jews' language against the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to terrify them and to harass them, so that they might take the city.

19 And they spoke of the God of Jerusalem, as of the gods of the peoples of the earth, the work of men's hands.

20 But King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz prayed about this and cried out to heaven.

21 Then the Lord sent an angel, who destroyed all the mighty men, the princes, and the leaders in the camp of the king of Assyria; and he returned to his own land with shame; and when he entered the house of his god, those who came out of his own body killed him there with the sword.

22 Thus the Lord delivered Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria, and from the hand of all; and he led them on every side. 

23 And many brought gifts to Jerusalem unto the LORD, and gifts to Hezekiah king of Judah: so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from thenceforth.

1 Depois destas coisas e desta fidelidade, veio Senaqueribe, rei da Assíria, e entrou em Judá, e acampou-se contra as cidades fortes, e intentou separá-las para si.

2 Vendo pois Ezequias que Senaqueribe vinha, e que o seu rosto era de guerra contra Jerusalém,

3 Teve conselho com os seus príncipes e os seus varões, para que se tapassem as fontes das águas que havia fora da cidade: e eles o ajudaram.

4 Assim muito povo se ajuntou, que tapou todas as fontes, como também o ribeiro que se estendia pelo meio da terra, dizendo: Por que viriam os reis da Assíria, e achariam tantas águas?

5 E ele se fortificou, e edificou todo o muro quebrado até às torres, e levantou o outro muro para fora; e fortificou a Milo na cidade de Davi, e fez armas e escudos em abundância.

6 E pôs oficiais de guerra sobre o povo, e ajuntou-os a si na praça da porta da cidade, e falou-lhes ao coração, dizendo:

7 Esforçai-vos, e tende bom ânimo; não temais, nem vos espanteis, por causa do rei da Assíria, nem por causa de toda a multidão que está com ele, porque há um maior conosco do que com ele.

8 Com ele está o braço de carne, mas conosco o Senhor nosso Deus, para nos ajudar, e para guerrear nossas guerras. E o povo descansou nas palavras de Ezequias, rei de Judá.

9 Depois disto Senaqueribe, rei da Assíria, enviou os seus servos a Jerusalém (ele porém estava diante de Laquis, com todo o seu domínio), a Ezequias, rei de Judá, e a todo Judá que estava em Jerusalém, dizendo:

10 Assim diz Senaqueribe, rei da Assíria: Em que confiais vós, que vos ficais na fortaleza em Jerusalém?

11 Porventura não vos incita Ezequias para morrerdes à fome a à sede, dizendo: O Senhor nosso Deus nos livrará das mãos do rei da Assíria?

12 Não é Ezequias o mesmo que tirou os seus altos e os seus altares, e falou a Judá e a Jerusalém, dizendo: Diante do único altar vos prostrareis, e sobre ele queimareis incenso?

13 Não sabeis vós o que eu e meus pais fizemos a todos os povos das terras? Porventura puderam de qualquer maneira os deuses das nações daquelas terras livrar a sua terra da minha mão?

14 Qual é, de todos os deuses daquelas nações que meus pais destruíram, que pôde livrar o seu povo da minha mão, para que vosso Deus vos possa livrar da minha mão?

15 Agora pois, não vos engane Ezequias, nem vos incite assim, nem lhe deis crédito; porque nenhum deus de nação alguma, nem de reino algum, pôde livrar o seu povo da minha mão, nem da mão de meus pais: quanto menos vos poderá livrar o vosso Deus da minha mão?

16 Também seus servos falaram ainda mais contra o Senhor Deus, e contra Ezequias, o seu servo.

17 Escreveu também cartas, para blasfemar do Senhor Deus de Israel, e para falar contra ele, dizendo: Assim como os deuses das nações das terras não livraram o seu povo da minha mão, assim também o Deus de Ezequias não livrará o seu povo da minha mão.

18 E clamaram em alta voz em judaico contra o povo de Jerusalém, que estava em cima do muro, para os atemorizarem e os perturbarem, para tomarem a cidade.

19 E falaram do Deus de Jerusalém, como dos deuses dos povos da terra, obras das mãos dos homens.

20 Porém o rei Ezequias e o profeta Isaías, filho de Amós, oraram por causa disso, e clamaram ao céu.

21 Então o Senhor enviou um anjo que destruiu a todos os varões valentes, e os príncipes, e os chefes no arraial do rei da Assíria; e este tornou com vergonha de rosto à sua terra; e, entrando na casa de seu deus, os mesmos, que saíram das suas entranhas, o mataram ali à espada.

22 Assim livrou o Senhor a Ezequias, e aos moradores de Jerusalém, da mão de Senaqueribe, rei da Assíria, e da mão de todos; e de todos os lados os guiou.

23 E muitos traziam presentes a Jerusalém ao Senhor, e coisas preciosíssimas a Ezequias, rei de Judá, de modo que depois disto foi exaltado perante os olhos de todas as nações.

Hezekiah regulates the divisions of the priests and Levites

2 And Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and Levites according to their divisions, each according to his service, to the priests and Levites for the burnt offering and for the peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to sing, at the gates of the camps of the Lord.

3 And he appointed the king's portion for the burnt offerings, for the burnt offerings of the morning and evening, and for the burnt offerings of the Sabbaths, of the new moons, and of the appointed feasts, as it is written in the law of the Lord.

4 And he commanded the people, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to give the portion of the priests and Levites, that they might devote themselves to the law of the Lord.

 5 And after this saying was spread abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of wheat, wine, oil, honey, and of all the increase of the field; and they brought in a tithe of all things in abundance.

 6 And the children of Israel and Judah, who dwelt in the cities of Judah, brought in a tithe of their herds and of their flocks, and a tithe of the holy things which were consecrated unto the LORD their God: and they made great heaps.

 7 In the third month they began to make the first heaps, and in the seventh month they finished. 

8 And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD and his people Israel. 

9 And Hezekiah asked the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps. 

10 Then Azariah the high priest of the house of Zadok spoke to him, saying, “Since the offering began to be brought into the house of the LORD, there has been enough to eat and to be satisfied, and there is plenty left over, for the LORD has blessed his people, and there is plenty left over.” 

11 Then Hezekiah commanded that chambers be prepared in the house of the LORD, and they prepared them. 

12 There they faithfully brought the offerings, the tithes, and the dedicated things. Over these things were Conaniah the chief Levite, and Shimei his brother was second. 

13 And Jeiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ishmachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, who were overseers under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, at the commandment of King Hezekiah and Azariah the ruler of the house of God.

14 Now Kore the son of Imnah, the Levite, who was the gatekeeper on the east side, was in charge of the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the Lord’s offerings and the most holy things.

15 And under his command were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amoriah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, to distribute faithfully to their brothers according to their courses, both small and great;

16 Besides those who were reckoned by genealogy of the males, from three years old and upward, to all who entered the house of the Lord, for their daily work in their service, according to their courses.

17 And those who were reckoned by genealogy of the priests by their fathers’ houses; and the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, in their divisions, according to their divisions: 

18 and according to genealogies, with all their little ones, their wives, their sons and their daughters, throughout the whole congregation; for they sanctified themselves faithfully in the consecrated things. 

19 And of the sons of Aaron there were priests in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every city, men who were numbered by name, to give portions to every male among the priests and to all who were numbered by genealogies among the Levites. 

20 And Hezekiah did thus throughout all Judah: and he did that which was good, and right, and true, before the LORD his God.

2 E estabeleceu Ezequias as turmas dos sacerdotes e levitas, segundo as suas turmas, a cada um segundo o seu ministério; aos sacerdotes e levitas para o holocausto e para as ofertas pacíficas; para ministrarem, e louvarem, e cantarem, às portas dos arraiais do Senhor.

3 Também estabeleceu a parte da fazenda do rei para os holocaustos, para os holocaustos da manhã e da tarde, e para os holocaustos dos sábados, e das luas novas, e das solenidades; como está escrito na lei do Senhor.

1 After this Hezekiah sent throughout all Israel and Judah, and also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, asking them to come to the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, to celebrate the Passover to the Lord God of Israel.

2 For the king had taken counsel with his princes and with the whole assembly in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover in the second month.

3 For they could not celebrate it at that time, because not enough of the priests had consecrated themselves, and the people had not assembled in Jerusalem.

4 And this was right in the eyes of the king and in the eyes of the whole assembly.

5 And they sent a proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, that they should come to celebrate the Passover to the Lord God of Israel in Jerusalem, for many had not celebrated it as it was written.

6 6 So the couriers went with letters from the hand of the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, according to the king's command, saying, "Children of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so that he may return to those of you who have escaped and are left in the hand of the kings of Assyria.

10 And the couriers went from city to city through the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, even to Zebulun; but they laughed at them and mocked them.

11 But some from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.

12 And the hand of God was in Judah, giving them one heart to do the commandment of the king and the princes, according to the word of the Lord.

13 And much people gathered together in Jerusalem to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great assembly.

14 And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the incense vessels they took away, and threw them into the brook Kidron. 

15 Then they sacrificed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the second month. The priests and Levites were ashamed and consecrated themselves and brought burnt offerings to the house of the Lord.

16 They stood in their places according to their custom, according to the law of Moses the man of God. The priests took the blood from the hands of the Levites and sprinkled it.

17 For there were many in the congregation who had not consecrated themselves. Therefore the Levites had the responsibility of killing the Passover lambs for everyone who was not clean, to consecrate them to the Lord.

18 For a large number of the people, many from Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, and yet they ate the Passover otherwise than as it is written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, "May the Lord, who is good, be reconciled to him." 

19 Who has prepared his heart to seek the Lord God, the God of his fathers, though he is not clean according to the purification of the sanctuary.

20 And the Lord listened to Hezekiah and healed the people.

21 And the children of Israel, who were present in Jerusalem, kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with great joy; and the Levites and the priests praised the Lord day by day, with instruments loudly sounding to the Lord.

22 And Hezekiah spoke kindly to all the Levites who had understanding in the good knowledge of the Lord: and they ate the offerings of the solemnity seven days, offering peace offerings, and praising the Lord God of their fathers.

23 And when all the congregation had taken counsel to keep it another seven days, they kept it seven days more with joy. 

24 For Hezekiah king of Judah gave to the assembly a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep, and the princes gave to the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep, and the priests consecrated themselves in great numbers.

25 And the whole assembly of Judah rejoiced, with the priests and the Levites, the whole assembly of all who came from Israel, and the strangers who came from the land of Israel and those who lived in Judah. ​​

26 And there was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the days of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, there had not been such joy in Jerusalem.

2 Porque o rei tivera conselho com os seus maiorais, e com toda a congregação em Jerusalém, para celebrarem a páscoa no segundo mês.

3 Porquanto no mesmo tempo não a puderam celebrar, porque se não tinham santificado bastantes sacerdotes, e o povo se não tinha ajuntado em Jerusalém.

4 E foi isto reto aos olhos do rei, e aos olhos de toda a congregação.

5 E ordenaram que se fizesse passar pregão por todo o Israel, desde Berseba até Dã, para que viessem a celebrar a páscoa ao Senhor, Deus de Israel, a Jerusalém; porque muitos a não tinham celebrado como estava escrito.

20 E ouviu o Senhor a Ezequias, e sarou o povo.

32 और मण्डली के लोग जो होमबलि ले आए, उनकी गिनती सत्तर बैल, एक सौ मेढ़े, और दो सौ भेड़ के बच्चे थे; ये सब यहोवा के लिये होमबलि थे।

33 और पवित्र वस्तुएं भी थीं, अर्थात छ: सौ बैल, और तीन हजार भेड़-बकरियां।

34 परन्तु याजक बहुत कम थे, और वे सब होमबलियोंकी खाल न निकाल सके; इस कारण उनके भाई लेवीय उन की सहायता तब तक करते रहे, जब तक काम पूरा न हुआ, और जब तक दूसरे याजकों ने अपने आप को पवित्र न किया; क्योंकि लेवीय याजकों से अधिक सीधे मन के थे और अपने आप को पवित्र मानते थे।

Hezekiah Reestablishes the Worship of God

20 Then King Hezekiah rose early in the morning, gathered together the princes of the city, and went up to the house of the Lord.

21 And they brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, and for Judah, and commanded Aaron's sons, the priests, to offer them on the altar of the Lord.

22 And they killed the bulls, and the priests took the blood and sprinkled it on the altar; they also killed the rams, and sprinkled the blood on the altar; and they killed the lambs in the same way, and sprinkled the blood on the altar.

23 Then they brought the goats for a sin offering before the king and the congregation, and laid their hands on them.

 24 And the priests killed them, and with their blood they made atonement for sin on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel: for the king had commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel. 

25 And he stationed the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king's seer, and of Nathan the prophet: for the commandment came from the LORD by the hand of his prophets. 

26 And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets. 

27 And Hezekiah commanded them to offer the burnt offering on the altar: and at the time that the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also, with the trumpets and with the instruments of David king of Israel. 

28 And the whole congregation bowed down, when they sang the song, and the trumpets blew; all this until the burnt offering was finished.

29 And when he had finished offering it, the king and all who were present with him bowed down and worshiped.

30 Then King Hezekiah and the princes commanded the Levites to praise the Lord with the words of David and Asaph the seer. And they praised with joy, and bowed down and worshiped.

31 And Hezekiah answered and said, Now you have gathered yourselves together unto the Lord: come near, and bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the house of the Lord. And the congregation brought sacrifices and thank offerings, and everyone whose heart was willing brought burnt offerings. 

32 The number of burnt offerings that the congregation brought was seventy oxen, one hundred rams, and two hundred lambs; all this was a burnt offering to the Lord. 

33 There were also six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep of the holy things. 

34 But the priests were too few, and could not skin all the burnt offerings; therefore their brethren the Levites helped them until the work was finished, and until the other priests had consecrated themselves; for the Levites were more upright in heart to consecrate themselves than the priests. 

35 There was also an abundance of burnt offerings, with the fat of the peace offerings, and with the drink offering for the burnt offerings. Thus the service of the house of the Lord was established. 

36 And Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced, because God had prepared the people; for the work was done quickly.

20 Então o rei Ezequias se levantou de madrugada, e ajuntou os maiorais da cidade, e subiu à casa do Senhor.

21 E trouxeram sete novilhos e sete carneiros, e sete cordeiros, e sete bodes, para sacrifício expiatório, pelo reino, e pelo santuário, e por Judá, e disse aos filhos de Aarão, os sacerdotes, que os oferecessem sobre o altar do Senhor.

22 E eles mataram os bois, e os sacerdotes tomaram o sangue e o espargiram sobre o altar; também mataram os carneiros, e o espargiram o sangue sobre o altar: semelhantemente mataram os cordeiros, e espargiram o sangue sobre o altar.

23 Então trouxeram os bodes para sacrifício pelo pecado, perante o rei e a congregação, e lhes impuseram as suas mãos.

24 E os sacerdotes os mataram, e com o seu sangue fizeram expiação do pecado sobre o altar, para reconciliar a todo o Israel; porque o rei tinha ordenado que se fizesse aquele holocausto e sacrifício pelo pecado, por todo o Israel.

25 E pôs os levitas na casa do Senhor com címbalos, com alaúdes, e com harpas, conforme ao mandado de Davi e de Gade, o vidente do rei, e do profeta Natã: porque este mandado veio do Senhor, por mão de seus profetas.

26 Estavam pois os levitas em pé com os instrumentos de Davi, e os sacerdotes com as trombetas.

27 E deu ordem Ezequias que oferecessem o holocausto sobre o altar, e ao tempo em que começou o holocausto, começou também o canto do Senhor, com as trombetas e com os instrumentos de davi, rei de Israel.

28 E toda congregação se prostrou, quando cantavam o canto, e as trombetas tocavam; tudo isto até o holocausto se acabar.

29 E acabando de o oferecer, o rei e todos quantos com ele se acharam se prostraram e adoraram.

30 Então disse o rei Ezequias, e os maiorais, aos levitas que louvassem ao Senhor com as palavras de Davi, e de Asafe, o vidente. E o louvaram com alegria e se inclinaram e adoraram.

31 E respondeu Ezequias, e disse: Agora vos congregastes a vós mesmos ao Senhor; chegai-vos e trazei sacrifícios e ofertas de louvor à casa do Senhor. E a congregação trouxe sacrifícios e ofertas de louvor, e todo o que tinha essa vontade do coração, trouxe holocaustos.

32 E o número dos holocaustos, que a congregação trouxe, foi de setenta bois, cem carneiros, duzentos cordeiros: tudo isto em holocausto para o Senhor.

33 Houve, também de coisas consagradas, seiscentos bois e três mil ovelhas.

34 Eram porém os sacerdotes mui poucos, e não podiam esfolar a todos os holocaustos; pelo que seus irmãos os levitas os ajudaram, até a obra se acabar, e até que os outros sacerdotes se santificaram; porque os levitas foram mais retos de coração, para se santificarem, do que os sacerdotes.

35 E houve também holocausto em abundância, com a gordura das ofertas pacíficas, e com a oferta de licor para os holocaustos. Assim se estabeleceu o ministério da casa do Senhor.

36 E Ezequias, e todo o povo se alegraram, de que Deus tinha preparado o povo; porque apressuradamente se fez a obra.

12 Then the Levites arose, Mahath the son of Amassai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites; and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehallelel; and of the Gershonites, Joah the son of Zimmah, and Edom the son of Joah;

13 And of the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeiel; of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;

14 And of the sons of Heman, Jeiel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.

15 And they gathered their brethren together, and sanctified themselves, and came according to the commandment of the king by the words of the LORD, to purify the house of the LORD.

16 Then the priests went into the house of the Lord to purify, and they brought out into the court of the house of the Lord all the unclean things that they found in the temple of the Lord. The Levites took them and carried them out to the brook Kidron. 

17 So they began to sanctify on the first day of the first month. On the eighth day of the month they came to the porch of the Lord and sanctified the house of the Lord in eight days. On the sixteenth day of the first month they finished. 

18 Then they went in to King Hezekiah and said, "We have cleansed the entire house of the Lord, the altar of burnt offering and all its vessels, and the table of shewbread and all its vessels. 

19 And all the vessels that King Ahaz threw out in his reign in his transgression we have prepared and sanctified. And behold, they are before the altar of the Lord."

13 E dentre os filhos de Elisafã, Sinri e Jeiel; dentre os filhos de Asafe, Zacarias e Matanias;

14 E dentre os filhos de Hemã, Jeiel e Simei; e dentre os filhos de Jedutum: Semaías e Uziel.

15 E ajuntaram seus irmãos, e santificaram-se e vieram conforme ao mandado do rei, pelas palavras do Senhor, para purificarem a casa do Senhor.

16 E os sacerdotes entraram dentro da casa do Senhor, para purificar, e tiraram para fora, ao pátio da casa do Senhor, toda a imundícia que acharam no templo do Senhor: e os levitas a tomaram, para a levarem para fora, ao ribeiro de Cedron.

17 Começaram pois a santificar ao primeiro do mês primeiro: e ao oitavo dia do mês vieram ao alpendre do Senhor, e santificaram a casa do Senhor em oito dias: e no dia décimo sexto do primeiro mês acabaram.

18 Então entraram para dentro, ao rei Ezequias, e disseram: Já purificamos toda a casa do Senhor, como também o altar do holocausto com todos os seus vasos, e a mesa da proposição com todos os seus vasos.

19 Também todos os vasos que o rei Acaz no seu reinado lançou fora, na sua transgressão, já preparamos e santificamos: e eis que estão diante do altar do Senhor.

1 जब हिजकिय्याह राज्य करने लगा, तब वह पच्चीस वर्ष का या, और यरूशलेम में उनतीस वर्ष तक राज्य करता रहा; और उसकी माता का नाम अबिया या, जो जकर्याह की बेटी थी।

2 और उस ने वैसा ही किया, जैसा उसके पिता दाऊद ने किया या, जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में ठीक था।

3 उस ने अपके राज्य के पहिले वर्ष के पहिले महीने में यहोवा के भवन के द्वार खुलवाए, और उनकी मरम्मत कराई।

4 और उस ने याजकोंऔर लेवियोंको ले आकर पूर्व चौक में इकट्ठा किया,

5 और उस ने उन से कहा, हे लेवियों, मेरी सुनो, अब अपने अपने को पवित्र करो, और अपने पितरोंके परमेश्वर यहोवा के भवन को पवित्र करो, और पवित्रस्थान में से अशुद्धता को दूर करो।
