29 Os filhos de Merari: Maeli, seu filho Libna, seu filho Simei, seu filho Hagias, seu filho Asaías.

30 Seu filho Siméia, seu filho Hagias, seu filho Asaías.

31 Estes são pois os que Davi constituiu para o ofício do canto da casa do Senhor, depois que a arca teve repouso.

32 E ministravam diante do tabernáculo da tenda da congregação com cantares, até que Salomão edificou a casa do Senhor em Jerusalém: e estiveram, segundo seu costume, no seu ministério.

Descendants of Levi, their ministry and their cities

16 The sons of Levi were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

17 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei.

18 And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers.

20 Of Gershon: Libni his son, Johath his son, Zimmah his son,

21 Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeaterai his son.

 22 The sons of Kohath were: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

1 The sons of Levi were: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari

2 And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

3 And the sons of Amram: Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam: and the sons of Aaron: Nadab, and Abihu, and Eleazer, and Ithamar.

4 And Eleazar begat Phinehas, and Phinehas begat Abishua,

5 And Abishua begat Bukki, and Bukki begat Uzzi,

6 And Uzzi begat Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begat Meraioth,

7 And Meraioth begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,

8 And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Ahimaaz,

9 And Ahimaaz begat Azariah, and Azariah begat Johanan,

10 And Johanan begat Azariah: this is he that ministered in the priest's office in the house that Solomon had built in Jerusalem. 

11 And Azariah begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,

12 And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Shallum,

13 And Shallum begat Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begat Azariah,

14 And Azariah begat Seraiah, and Seraiah begat Jozadak,

1 As for the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel; because he was the firstborn, but because he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel, so that he would not be counted in the genealogy of the birthright.

2 For Judah was mighty among his brothers, and from him came the prince; but the birthright was Joseph's.

3 So the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.

4 The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son Gog his son, Shimei his son,

5 Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,

6 Beerah his son whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

7 As for their brothers by their families, when they were listed by genealogy according to their generations, their heads were Jeiel and Zechariah. 

8 And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who lived in Aroer as far as Nebo and Baal-meon. 

9 He also lived on the east side, as far as the entrance to the wilderness, from the river Euphrates, because their livestock had multiplied in the land of Gilead. 

10 And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand; and they lived in their tents opposite all the east side of Gilead. 

11 And the children of Gad lived opposite them in the land of Bashan as far as Salecah. 

12 Joel was the chief, and Shaphan the second; but Jaanai and Shaphat remained in Bashan.

13 And their brethren, according to their fathers' houses, were Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jokan, and Ziha, and Eber, seven.

14 These were the sons of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshisai, the son of Jado, the son of Buz;

15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was the chief of their fathers' house.

16 And they dwelt in Gilead, in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, as far as its outskirts.

17 All these were reckoned by genealogy in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

 18 Of the children of Reuben, and of the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, very warlike men, who bore shield and sword, and drew bow, and were skilled in war, there were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty who went out to war.

19 And they made war with the Hagrites, as with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.

20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites and all that were with them were given into their hands; because they cried unto God in the battle, and he hearkened unto them, because they trusted in him.

21 And they took captive their cattle, fifty thousand of their camels, and two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, and two thousand asses, and a hundred thousand souls of men.

22 For many fell slain, because the battle was of God: and they dwelt in their place until the captivity. 23 Now the children of the half-tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: from Bashan even to Baal-hermon they multiplied.

24 And these were heads of their fathers' houses, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, and heads of their fathers' houses.

25 But they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and followed other gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed before them.

26 Therefore the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and they carried them away captive, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh; and they brought them to Halah, and to Habor, and to Hara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.

1 Quanto aos filhos de Rúben, o primogênito de Israel;- porque ele era o primogênito, mas porque profanara a cama de seu pai, deu-se a sua primogenitura aos filhos de José, filho de Israel; para assim não ser contado na genealogia da primogenitura.

2 Porque Judá foi poderoso entre seus irmãos, e dele provém o príncipe; porém a primogenitura foi de José;

3 Foram pois os filhos de Rúben, o primogênito de Israel: Enoque, e Palu, e Hezrom e Carmi.

4 Os filhos de Joel: Semaías, seu filho Gogue, seu filho, Simei, seu filho,

5 Mica, seu filho, Reaías, seu filho, Baal, seu filho,

6  Beera, seu filho o qual Tilgate-Pilneser, rei da Assíria, levou preso: este foi príncipe dos rubenitas.

7 Quanto a seus irmãos pelas suas famílias, quando foram postos nas genealogias segundo as suas descendências, tinham por chefes Jeiel e Zacarias.

20 E foram ajudados contra eles, e os hagarenos e todos quanto estavam com eles foram entregues em sua mão; porque clamaram a Deus na peleja, e lhes deu ouvidos, porquanto confiaram nele.

21 E levaram preso o seu gado: seus camelos, cinqüenta mil, e duzentoas e cinqüenta mil ovelhas, e dois mil jumentos; e cem mil almas de homens.

22 Porque muitos feridos caíram porque de Deus era a peleja; e habitaram em seu lugar, até ao cativeiro.

23 E os filhos da meia tribo de Manassés habitaram naquela terra: de Basã até Baal-Hermom, eles se multiplicaram.

24 E estes foram cabeças de suas casas paternas, a saber: Efer, e Isi, e Eliel, e Azriel, e Jeremias, e Hodavias, e Jadiel, homens valentes, homens de nome, e chefes das casas de seus pais.

25 Porém transgrediram contra o Deus de seus pais: e foram após outros deuses dos povos da terra, os quais Deus destruíra diante deles.
