27But that between us and you, and between our generations after us, be a witness to us, so that we can do the Lord's service before him with our burnt offerings, with our sacrifices, and with our peaceful offerings: and for let your children not say to our children tomorrow: You have no part in the Lord.
28 So we said, Whenever tomorrow will tell us and our generations, then we will say: See the pattern of the Lord's altar that our fathers made, not for a burnt offering or a sacrifice, but to be a witness between us and you.
29 Never do this to us, that we rebel against the Lord, or that today we abandon the Lord, building an altar for a burnt offering, a meal offering or a sacrifice, outside the altar of the Lord our God, who stands before his tabernacle.

20 Não cometeu Acã, filho de Zerá , transgressão no tocante ao anátema? e não veio ira sobre toda a congregação de Israel? assim que aquele homem não morreu só na sua iniqüidade.
21 Então responderam os filhos de Rúben, e os filhos de Gade, e a meia tribo de Manassés, e disseram aos cabeças dos milhares de Israel:

25 Pois o Senhor pôs o Jordão por termo entre nós e vós, ó filhos de Rúben, e filhos de Gade; não tendes parte no Senhor: e assim bem poderiam vossos filhos fazer desistir a nossos filhos de temer ao Senhor.
26 Pelo que dissemos: Façamos agora, e nos edifiquemos um altar: não para o holocausto, nem para sacrifício,
27Mas para que entre nós e vós, e entre as nossas gerações depois de nós, nos seja em testemunho, para podermos fazer serviço do Senhor diante dele com os nossos holocausto, e com os nossos sacrifícios, e com as nossas ofertas pacíficas: e para que vossos filhos não digam amanhã a nossos filhos: Não tendes parte no Senhor.
28 Pelo que dissemos: Quando for que amanhã assim nos digam a nós e às nossas gerações, então diremos: Vede o modelo do altar do Senhor que fizeram nossos pais, não para holocausto nem para sacrifício, porém para ser testemunho entre nós e vós.

38 And of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth, a city of refuge for the murderer, in Gilead, and its suburbs, and Mahanaim, and its suburbs;
39 Heshbon and its suburbs, Jaezer and its suburbs: four cities throughout.
40 All these cities belonged to the sons of Merari, according to their families, which were still left of the Levite families: and it was their fortune twelve cities.
