The victory over the Midianites
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: then thou shalt be gathered unto thy people.
3 And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Let some of you go up to the war, and go out against the Midianites, to avenge Jehovah in the Midianites.
4 A thousand of every tribe of all the tribes of Israel you shall send to war.
5 And there were given out of the thousands of Israel a thousand of every tribe: twelve thousand armed for battle.
6 And Moses sent them into the war of every tribe, and they and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar the priest, and the war with the holy vessels, and with the trumpets of the noise in his hand.
7 And they fought against the Midianites, as the Lord commanded Moses: and they slew every man.
8 And the kings of the Midianites slew, besides those that were slain, the Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: and Balaam the son of Beor slew the sword.
9 And the children of Israel took the women of the Midianites, and their children, and all their cattle, and all their cattle, and all their cattle.
10 And they burned all their cities with fire, and all their dwellings, and all their encampments.
11 And they took all the spoil and all the prey of man and beast.
12 And they brought the captives, and the spoil, and the spoil, unto the camp in the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan at Jericho, unto Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel.

1 E falou o Senhor a Moisés dizendo:
2 Vinga os filhos de Israel dos medianitas: depois recolhido serás aos teus povos.
3 Falou pois Moisés ao povo, dizendo: Armem-se alguns de vós para a guerra, e saiam contra os midianitas, para fazerem a vingança do Senhor nos midianitas.
4 Mil de cada tribo entre todas as tribos de Israel enviareis á guerra.
5 Assim foram dados dos milhares de Israel mil de cada tribo: doze mil armados para a peleja.
6 E Moisés os mandou á guerra de cada tribo mil, e eles e a Finéias, filho de Eleazar sacerdote, á guerra com os vasos santos, e com trombetas do alarido na sua mão.
7 E pelejaram contra os midianitas, como o Senhor ordenar a Moisés: e mataram a todo o varão.
8 Mataram mais, além dos que já foram mortos, os reis dos midianitas: a Evi, e a Requem, e a Zur, e a Hur, e a Reba, cinco reis dos midianitas; também a Balaão filho de Beor mataram á espada.
9 Porém os filhos de Israel levaram presas as mulheres dos midianitas, e as suas crianças: também levaram todos os seus animais, e todo o seu gado, e toda a sua fazenda.
10 E queimaram a fogo todas as suas cidades com todas as suas habitações, e todos os seus acampamentos.
11 E tomaram todo despojo e toda a presa de homens e de animais.
12 E trouxeram a Moisés e a Eleazar, o sacerdote, e á congregação dos filhos de Israel os cativos, e a presa, e o despojo, para o arraial, nas campinas de Moabe, que estão junto do Jordão em Jericó.

2 When a man vows a vow to the Lord, or takes an oath, binding his soul with an obligation, he will not violate his word: according to all that has gone out of his mouth, he will do.
3 And it shall come to pass when a woman voweth a vow unto Jehovah, and is bound to bind herself in the house of her father in her youth;
4 And his father hear his vow and his obligation, with which he bound his soul; and his father shall be silent to her, all his vows shall be valued; and all the bond with which he bound his soul shall be valued.
5 But if your father opposes in the day that he hears it, all his vows and his obligations; with whom he hath bound his soul, shall not be valued; but the Lord will forgive him, because his father forbade them.
6 And if she have a husband, and is bound by some vows, or an unthinking saying from her lips, by which she bound her soul;
7 And her husband shall hear, and be silent unto her in the day that he heareth, his vows shall be valued: and his bonds with which he hath bound his soul shall be valued.
8 But if her husband forbade her to do so on the day that he hears it, and void her vow to which she was bound, as well as the declaration of her lips, with which she bound her soul; the Lord will forgive him.
9 With regard to the vow of the widow, or of the divorced, every thing that binds his soul upon it shall be valuable.
10 But a vow was made in the house of her husband, or he bound his soul with an oath,
11 And her husband heard him, and held his peace, and did not forbid it; and all the obligation with which he bound his soul will be valuable.
12 But if her husband annulled them in the day when he heard them, whatsoever went out of his lips, whether of his vows or of his soul's will, shall not be of any value: his husband hath nullified them, and the Lord will forgive them.
13 All the vow, and all the oath of obligation, to humble the soul her husband, shall confirm it, or annul it.
14 And if her husband day by day shall be silent to her, then she shall confirm all her vows and all her oblations, which are upon her: she is sure of them, because she was silent to her in the day that she heard him.
15 But if he annul all of them after he has heard them, then he shall bear their iniquity.
16 These are the statutes which the LORD commanded Moses between the husband and his wife; between father and his daughter, in his youth, in his father's house.

3 Também quando uma mulher fazer voto ao Senhor, e com obrigação se ligar em casa de seu pai na sua mocidade;
4 E seu pai ouvir o seu voto e a sua obrigação, com que ligou a sua alma; e seu pai se calar para com ela, todos os seus votos serão valiosos: e toda a obrigação com que ligou a sua alma, sera valiosa.
5 Mas se seu pai se opuser no dia que tal ouvir, todos os seus votos e as suas obrigações; com que tiver ligado a sua alma, não serão valiosos: mas o Senhor lho perdoará, porquanto seu pai lhos vedou.
6 E se ela tiver marido, e for obrigada a alguns votos ou dito irrefletido dos seus lábios, com que tiver ligado a sua alma;
7 E seu marido ouvir, e se calar para com ela no dia em que o ouvir, os seus votos serão valiosos: e as suas obrigações com que ligou a sua alma, serão valiosas.

12 Porém se seu marido lhos anulou no dia em que os ouviu, tudo quanto saiu dos seus lábios, quer dos seus votos, quer da obrigação da sua alma, não será valioso: seu marido lhos anulou, e o Senhor lho perdoará.
13 Todo o voto, e todo o juramento de obrigação, para humilhar a alma seu marido, o confirmará, ou anulará.
