Ruth gives birth to Obed, David's grandfather.

13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife; and he went in to her, and the Lord gave him conception, and had a son.

14 Then the women said to Naomi, "Blessed be the Lord, who has not ceased to give you this day, and let his name be famous in Israel."

15 He will be a recreator to your soul, and will preserve your old age, because your daughter-in-law, who loves you, had him, and she is better than seven children.

16 And Naomi took her son, and put him in her lap, and was her nurse.

17 And the neighbors gave him a name saying, Naomi was born a son. And they called his name Obed. This is the father of Jesse, father of David.

18 These are the generations of Perez: Perez beget Hezrom.

19 And Hezron begat Aaron, and Aaron begat Amminadab,

20 And Amminadab begat Naasom, and Naasom begat Salmon,

21 And Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,

22 And Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.
