1 For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven: all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble; the day that is coming will set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.

2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.

3 And you will trample the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I act, says the Lord of hosts.

4 Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel, with its statutes and judgments.

5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord;

6 And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.

3 E pisareis os ímpios, porque se farão cinza debaixo das plantas de vossos pés naquele dia que farei, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.

4 Lembrai-vos da lei de Moisés, meu servo, a qual lhe mandei em Horebe para todo o Israel, e que são os estatutos e juízos.

5 Eis que eu vos envio o profeta Elias, antes que venha o dia grande e terrível do Senhor;

7 “From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts. “But you say, ‘How shall we return?’

8 Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In tithes and offerings.

9 You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you.

10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your ground, and the vine in the field will not fail to bear fruit for you, says the Lord of hosts.

12 And all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land, says the Lord of hosts.

13 Your words have been harsh against me, says the Lord; but you say, “What have we spoken against you?”

14 You say, “It is useless to serve God; what profit has it we have kept his precepts, and walked mournfully before the Lord of hosts?”

15 Now therefore, we consider the proud to be blessed; those who commit wickedness are also built up; yes, they test the Lord, and escape.

16 Then those who fear the Lord speak to one another; and the Lord listens and hears; And a book of remembrance is written before him for those who fear the Lord and who meditate on his name.

17 “They will be mine,” declares the Lord Almighty, “on the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion on his son who serves him.”

18 “Then you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”

7Desde os dias de vossos pais vos desviastes dos meus estatutos, e não os guardastes: tornai vos para mim, e eu tornarei para vós, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos; mas vós dizeis: Em que havemos de tornar?

8 Roubará o homem a Deus? Todavia vós me roubais, e dizeis: Em que te roubamos? Nos dízimos e nas ofertas alçadas.

1 “See, I am sending my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord, whom you seek, will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, will come,” says the Lord Almighty.

2 “But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap.

3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver, and they will present offerings to the Lord in righteousness.

4 The offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the Lord, as in days of old and as in former years.”

5 And I will come near to you for judgment, and I will be a swift witness against sorcerers, and against adulterers, and against those who swear falsely, and against those who defraud the hired worker, and pervert the justice due to the widow, and to the fatherless, and to the stranger, and do not fear me, says the Lord of hosts.

6 For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.

11 Judah has been faithless, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the holiness of the Lord, which he loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god.

12 The Lord will cut off from the tents of Jacob the man who does this, the one who watches, and the one who answers, and the one who offers gifts to the Lord of hosts.

13 Yet this is another thing you do: you cover the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping and groaning, so that he no longer regards the offering or accepts it with pleasure from your hand.

14 And you say, “Why?” Because the Lord was witness between you and the wife of your youth, with whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.

15 And did he not make them one, having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He sought godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.

16 For the Lord God of Israel says that he hates divorce, and him who covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and do not deal treacherously.

17 You weary the Lord with your words; yet you say, “How have we wearied him?” By saying, “Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and he delights in them”; or, “Where is the God of justice?”

11 Judá foi desleal, e abominação se cometeu em Israel e em Jerusalém; porque Judá profanou a santidade do Senhor, a qual ele ama, e se casou com a filha de deus estranho.

12 O Senhor extirpará das tendas de Jacó o homem que fizer isto, o que vela, e o que responde, e o que oferece dons ao Senhor dos Exércitos.

13 Ainda fazeis isto: cobris o altar do Senhor de lágrimas, de choros e de gemidos; de sorte que ele não olha mais para a oferta, nem a aceitará com prazer da vossa mão.

1 And now, O priests, this commandment concerns you.

2 If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve in your hearts to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; indeed, I have already cursed them, because you do not take it to heart.

3 Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung on your faces, the dung of your feasts; and you shall be taken away with it.

4 Then you shall know that I have sent this commandment to you, that my covenant may be with Levi, says the Lord of hosts.

5 My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him so that he might fear me; and he feared me, and was in awe of my name.

6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found on his lips; he walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned away iniquity from many.

7 For the lips of a priest shall keep knowledge, and people shall seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.

8 But you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to stumble at the law; you have corrupted the covenant of Levi, says the Lord of hosts.

9 Therefore I also have made you contemptible and base before all the people, because you have not kept my ways but have shown partiality in the law.

1 The burden of the word of the Lord against Israel by Malachi.

2 “I have loved you,” says the Lord. “But you say, ‘How have you loved us?’ Was not Esau Jacob’s brother?” declares the Lord. “Yet I have loved Jacob.

3 But I hated Esau and made his mountains a desolation and left his inheritance to the desert dragons.

4 Though Edom says, ‘We are poor, but we will rebuild the desolate places,’ thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘They may build, but I will destroy; and they shall be called the Territory of Wickedness, and the people against whom the Lord is angry forever.’

5 And your eyes shall see, and you shall say, ‘The Lord be magnified from the borders of Israel!’

6 A son shall honor his father, and a servant his master; And if I am the Father, where is my honor? And if I am the Lord, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name and say, “In what way have we despised your name?”

7 You offer defiled bread on my altar, and you say, “In what way have we defiled you?” By saying, “The table of the Lord is contemptible.”

8 For when you bring a blind animal to sacrifice, is that not wrong? And when you offer a lame or diseased animal, is that not wrong? Try presenting it to your ruler! Will he be pleased with you? Or will he accept your person? says the Lord of hosts.

9 Now therefore, plead with God for mercy, and he will have pity on us; for this has come from your hand; will he accept your person? says the Lord of hosts.

10 Who among you will shut the doors and not kindle fire on my altar in vain? I have no pleasure in you, says the Lord of hosts, nor will I accept an offering from your hand.

11 But from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations; and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering; for my name will be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts.

12 But you profane it when you say, “The table of the Lord is defiled, and its fruit, its food, is contemptible.”

13 And you say, “What a weariness!” And you have despised it, says the Lord of hosts. “You offer what has been stolen, and the lame and the sick. This is how you offer this: will I accept it from your hand?” says the Lord.

14 Cursed be the deceiver who, having a beast in his flock, vows and offers to the Lord a vile thing; for I am a great King, says the Lord of hosts, and my name will be feared among the nations.

9 Agora pois, suplicai o favor de Deus, e ele terá piedade de nós: nisto veio da vossa mão; aceitará ele a vossa pessoa? Diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.

10 Quem há também entre vós que feche as portas e não acenda debalde o fogo do meu altar? Eu não tenho prazer em vós, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, nem aceitarei da vossa mão a oblação.

11 Mas desde o nascente do sol até ao poente será grande entre as nações o meu nome; e em todo o lugar se oferecerá ao meu nome incenso e uma oblação pura; porque o meu nome será grande entre as nações, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.

12 Mas vós o profanais, quando dizeis: A mesa do Senhor é impura, e o seu produto, a sua comida, é desprezível.

13 E dizeis: Eis aqui, que canseira! E o lançastes ao desprezo, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: vós oferecereis o roubado, e o coxo e o enfermo; assim fazeis a oferta: ser-me-á aceito isto de vossa mão? Diz o Senhor.

18 और अगर मिस्रियों का परिवार ऊपर नहीं जाता, या नहीं आता, तो उन पर वह मुसीबत आएगी जिससे यहोवा उन देशों को मारेगा जो तंबुओं का त्योहार मनाने नहीं जाते।

19 यह मिस्रियों की सज़ा होगी, और उन सभी देशों की सज़ा होगी जो तंबुओं का त्योहार मनाने नहीं जाते।

20 उस दिन घोड़ों पर लगी घंटियों से पुकारा जाएगा: “प्रभु के लिए पवित्रता!” और प्रभु के भवन में बर्तन वेदी के सामने रखे हुए कटोरे जैसे होंगे।
