Deus ouve a alma paciente: a obediência é melhor do que o sacrifício; o salmista faz oração a Deus para que o livre dos males

 

1 Esperei com paciência no Senhor, e ele se inclinou para mim, e ouviu o meu clamor.

2 Tirou-me dum lago horrível, de um charco de lodo, pôs os meus pés sobre uma rocha, firmou os meus passos;

3 E pôs um novo cântico na minha boca, um hino ao nosso Deus; muitos o verão, e temerão, e confiarão no Senhor.

4 Bem-aventurado o homem que põem no Senhor a sua confiança, e que não respeita os soberbos nem os que se desviam para a mentira.

5 Muitas são, Senhor meu Deus, as maravilhas que tens operado para conosco, e os teus pensamentos não se podem contar diante de ti; eu quisera anuncia-los, e manifestá-los, mas são mais do que se podem contar.

6 Sacrifício e oferta não quiseste; as minhas orelhas furaste; holocausto e expiação pelo pecado não reclamaste.

7 Então disse: Eis aqui venho; no rolo do livro está escrito de mim:

8 Deleito-me em fazer a tua vontade, Ó Deus meu; sim, a tua lei está dentro do meu coração.

9 Preguei a justiça na grande congregação; eis que não retive os meus lábios, Senhor, tu o sabes.

10 Não escondi a tua justiça dentro do meu coração; apregoei a tua fidelidade e a tua salvação: não escondi da grande congregação a tua benignidade e a tua verdade.

11 Não detenhas para comigo, Senhor, as tuas misericórdias, guardem-me continuamente a tua benignidade e a tua verdade.

12 Porque males sem número me têm rodeado: as minhas iniqüidades me prenderam de odo que não posso olhar para cima; são mais numerosas do que os cabelos da minha cabeça; pelo que desfalece o meu coração.

13 Digna-te, Senhor, livrar-me: Senhor, apressa-te em meu auxílio.

14 Sejam à uma confundidos e envergonhados os que buscam a minha vida para destruí-la; tornem atrás e confundam-se os que me querem mal.

15 Confundidos sejam em troca da sua afronta os que me dizem: Ah! Ah!

16 Folguem e alegrem-se em ti os que te buscam: Digam constantemente os que amam a tua salvação: Engrandecido seja o Senhor.

17 Eu sou pobre e necessitado; mas o Senhor cuida de mim: Tu és o meu auxílio e o meu libertador; não te detenhas, ó meu Deus.

2 I was silent as one who was mute; I kept silent even about good; but my grief was made worse.

3 My heart burned within me; while I was meditating a fire was kindled; then I spoke with my tongue. I said, "

4 Make me to know, O Lord, my end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.

5 Behold, you have made my days as a handbreadth; the span of my life is as nothing before you; surely every man that is strong is utterly vanity.

6 Surely every man walks as a shadow; They are anxious in vain; they heap up riches, and do not know who will receive them.

7 Now, O Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in you.

8 Deliver me from all my transgressions; do not make me the reproach of fools.

9 I am silent; I do not open my mouth, because you have done it.

10 Remove your plague from me; I am faint at the blow of your hand.

11 When you rebuke a man for iniquity, you destroy his beauty like a moth; so that every man is vanity.

2 Com o silêncio fiquei como mudo; calava-me mesmo acerca do bem; mas a minha dor se agravou.

3 Incendeu-se dentro de mim o meu coração; enquanto eu meditava se acendeu um fogo: então falei com a minha língua. Disse:

4 Faze-me conhecer, Senhor, o meu fim, e a medida dos meus dias qual é, para que eu sinta quanto sou frágil.

5 Eis que fizeste os meus dias como a palmos; o tempo da minha vida é como nada diante de ti; Na verdade, todo o homem, por mais firme que esteja, é totalmente vaidade.

1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger, nor chasten me in your hot displeasure.

2 For your arrows have sunk deep into me, and your hand has fallen upon me.

3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of your anger, nor is there any peace in my bones because of my sin.

4 For my iniquities are gone over my head; they are like a heavy burden for me to bear.

5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my folly.

6 I am bowed down, I am very low; I go about mourning all the day long.

7 For my sides are full of burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh.

8 I am weak and very broken; I have roared because of the disquietude of my heart.

9 Lord, all my desire is before you, and my groaning is not hidden from you.

10 My heart is in turmoil, my strength fails me; even the light of my eyes has gone from me.

11 My friends and my close ones have turned away from my suffering, and my relatives have stood far away.

12 Those who seek my life lay a trap, and those who seek my harm speak evil, and devise deceit all day long.

13 But I, like a deaf man, did not hear, and like a mute man, did not open my mouth.

14 So I am like a man who does not hear, and in whose mouth is rebuke.

15 For in you, O Lord, I wait; you, O Lord my God, will hear me. 

16 For I said, "Hear me, lest they rejoice over me; when my foot slips, they magnify themselves against me."

 17 For I am ready to limp; my pain is continually before me. 

18 For I will confess my iniquity; I will grieve because of my sin.

 19 But my enemies are alive and strong, and those who hate me without cause magnify themselves.

 20 Those who repay evil for good are my adversaries, because I follow what is good. 

21 Do not forsake me, O Lord my God; do not be far from me.

3 यहोवा पर भरोसा रख और भलाई कर; तू देश में बसा रहेगा, और सचमुच तृप्त होगा।

4 यहोवा पर प्रसन्न रह, और वह तेरे मन की इच्छाएं पूरी करेगा।

5 अपना मार्ग यहोवा पर छोड़; उस पर भरोसा रख, और वह उसे पूरा करेगा।

The prosperity of sinners ends, and only the righteous will be happy

1 Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.

2 For they will soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the herb.

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; you will dwell in the land, and truly be fed.

4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will bring it to pass.

6 And he will make your righteousness shine like the light, and your justice like the noonday.

7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him. Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wickedness to pass.

8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret to do evil. 

9 For evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord will inherit the earth.

10 For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more; you will look on his place, and he will not be there.

11 But the meek will inherit the earth, and will delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12 The wicked plots against the righteous, and gnashes his teeth at him.

13 The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.

14 The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay those whose way is upright.

15 But their sword will enter into their own heart, and their bows will be broken.

16 A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked.

17 For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.

 18 The Lord knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance will last forever.

19 They will not be put to shame in the evil day, and in the days of famine they will be satisfied.

20 But the wicked will perish, and the enemies of the Lord will be like the fat of lambs; they will vanish and go up in smoke.

21 The wicked borrows and does not repay, but the righteous shows mercy and gives.

22 For those he blesses will inherit the land, and those he curses will be cut off.

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delights in his way.

24 Though he falls, he will not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

25 I have been young, and now I am old; yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread. 

26 He is ever merciful and lends, and his descendants are blessed.

27 Depart from evil and do good, and you will dwell forever.

28 For the Lord loves justice and will not forsake his saints; they are preserved forever, but the descendants of the wicked will be cut off.

29 The righteous will inherit the land and dwell therein forever.

30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom; his tongue speaks righteousness.

31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps will slip.

32 The wicked watches the righteous and seeks to kill him.

14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.

16 The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. 

18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

20 He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.

21 Evil will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished.

22 The Lord redeems the souls of his servants, and none of those who trust in him will be condemned.

1 Louvarei ao Senhor em todo o tempo: o seu louvor estará continuamente na minha boca.

2 A minha alma se gloriará no Senhor: os mansos o ouvirão e se alegrarão.

3 Engrandecei ao Senhor comigo, e juntos exaltemos o seu nome.

4 Busquei ao Senhor, e ele me respondeu: livrou-me de todos os meus temores.

5 Olharam para ele, e foram iluminados, e os seus rostos não ficarão confundidos.

6 Clamou este pobre, e o Senhor o ouviu, e o salvou de todas as suas angústias.

7 O anjo do Senhor acampa-se ao redor dos que o temem, e os livra.

8 Provai, e vede que o Senhor é bom; bem-aventurado o homem que nele confia.

9 Temei ao Senhor, vós, os seus santos, pois não têm falta alguma aqueles que o temem.

10 Os filhos dos leões necessitam e sofrem fome, mas aqueles que buscam ao Senhor de nada têm falta.

11 Vinde, meninos, ouvi-me: eu vos ensinarei o temor do Senhor.

12 Quem é o homem que deseja a vida, que quer largos dias para ver o bem?

13 Guarda a tua língua do mal, e os teus lábios de falarem enganosamente.

14 Aparta-te do mal, e faze o bem: procura a paz e segue-a.

15 Os olhos do Senhor estão sobre os justos, e os seus ouvidos atentos ao seu clamor.

16 A face do Senhor está contra os que fazem mal, para desarraigar da terra a memória deles.

17 Os justos clamam, e o Senhor os ouve, e os livra de todas as suas angústias.

18 Perto está o Senhor dos que têm o coração quebrantado, e salva os contritos de espírito.

19 Muitas são as aflições do justo, mas o Senhor o livra de todas.

20 Ele lhe guarda todos os seus ossos; nem sequer um deles se quebra.

21 A malícia matará o ímpio, e os que aborrecem o justo serão punidos.

22 O Senhor resgata a alma dos seus servos, e nenhum dos que nele confiam será condenado.

ईश्वर के कार्यों पर विचार करने में विश्वासी का आनन्द

1 हे धर्मियों, यहोवा में आनन्दित हो, क्योंकि धर्मी लोगों के लिए स्तुति उचित है।

2 वीणा बजाकर यहोवा की स्तुति करो; दस तार वाली वीणा बजाकर उसका भजन गाओ।

3 उसके लिए नया गीत गाओ; अच्छा बजाओ और आनन्द से जयजयकार करो।

4 क्योंकि यहोवा का वचन सच्चा है, और उसके सब काम विश्वासयोग्य हैं।

5 वह धर्म और न्याय से प्रेम करता है; पृथ्वी यहोवा की भलाई से भरी हुई है।

6 यहोवा के वचन से आकाश और उसके सारे गण उसके मुँह की साँस से बने।

7 वह समुद्र के जल को ढेर के समान इकट्ठा करता है; वह गहिरे जल को भण्डार के समान इकट्ठा करता है।

8 सारी पृथ्वी यहोवा का भय माने; जगत के सब निवासी उसका भय मानें।

9 क्योंकि उसने कहा, और वह हो गया; उसने आज्ञा दी, और वह स्थिर हो गई। 

10 यहोवा जाति जाति की युक्ति को व्यर्थ कर देता है, वह देश देश के लोगों की युक्तियों को व्यर्थ कर देता है। 

11 यहोवा की युक्ति सदा स्थिर रहती है, उसके मन की युक्ति पीढ़ी पीढ़ी तक बनी रहती है। 

12 धन्य है वह जाति जिसका परमेश्वर यहोवा है, और वह लोग जिन्हें उसने अपनी मीरास के लिये चुना है।

 13 यहोवा स्वर्ग से दृष्टि करके सब मनुष्यों को देखता है। 

14 अपने निवास स्थान से वह पृथ्वी पर रहनेवालों को देखता है। 

15 वह उन सभों के मन को गढ़ता है, वह उनके सब कामों पर विचार करता है। 

16 सेना की बड़ी शक्ति से कोई राजा नहीं बचता, न ही कोई वीर बड़े बल से बच सकता है। 

17 सुरक्षा के लिये घोड़ा व्यर्थ है, वह अपने बड़े बल से किसी को नहीं बचाता। 

18 देखो, यहोवा की दृष्टि उन पर लगी रहती है जो उससे डरते हैं, उन पर जो उसकी करूणा की आशा रखते हैं।

 19 कि उनके प्राणों को मृत्यु से बचाए, और अकाल में जीवित रखे, 

20 हमारा प्राण यहोवा पर आशा लगाए रहता है; वही हमारा सहायक और हमारी ढाल है।

 21 क्योंकि हमारा हृदय उसके कारण आनन्दित है, क्योंकि हम उसके पवित्र नाम पर भरोसा रखते हैं। 

22 हे यहोवा, तेरी दया हम पर बनी रहे, क्योंकि हम तेरी बाट जोहते हैं।
