The Book of the Prophet Daniel 12
The Last Days: The Sealed Words
At that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.
Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: one to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.
Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will go here and there, and knowledge will increase.
I, Daniel, looked, and there were two others standing there, one on this bank of the river and the other on that bank of the river.
Then he said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be until the end of these wonders?”
I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he lifted up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by him who lives forever that after a time, times, and half a time, and when the power of the holy people has been completely destroyed, all these things will be fulfilled.
I heard, but I did not understand. So I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”
Then he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for these words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.
Many will be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked will continue to act wickedly. No wicked person will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
From the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.
Blessed is he who waits and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and then at the end of the days you shall rise to receive your allotted inheritance.
