The Book of the Prophet Daniel 8 The Vision of a Ram and a Goat

The Book of the Prophet Daniel 8

The Vision of a Ram and a Goat

1 In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar, a vision appeared to me, Daniel, after the one that appeared to me at the beginning.

2 And I saw in the vision (it happened, when I saw, that I was in the city of Susa, in the province of Elam), I saw, therefore, in the vision, that I was by the Ulai River.

3 And I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, a ram stood before the river, which had two horns; and the two horns were high, but one was higher than the other; and the higher one came up last.

4 I saw the ram butting westward, and northward, and southward; and no animals could stand before it, nor was there anyone who could deliver out of its hand; but it did according to its will and became great.

5 And as I was considering, behold, a goat came from the west across the face of the whole earth, without touching the ground, and the goat had a notable horn between its eyes.

6 And it came to the ram that had the two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran at it with all the might of its strength.

7 And I saw it come close to the ram, and become enraged against it; and it struck the ram and broke its two horns, for there was no strength in the ram to stand before it; and it threw it to the ground and trampled it underfoot; and there was no one who could deliver the ram from its hand.

8 And the goat became very great; but when it was at its greatest strength, the great horn was broken off, and four notable horns came up in its place toward the four winds of heaven.

9 And out of one of them came a very small horn, which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land.

10 And it grew great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and trampled them.

11 And it grew great, even to the prince of the host: and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

12 And the host was given over to him, with the daily sacrifice, because of transgressions; and he cast down the truth to the ground; he did this, and prospered.

13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one who was speaking said, “How long shall the vision about the daily sacrifice and the transgression that causes desolation last, so that the sanctuary and the host will be given over to be trampled underfoot?”

14 And he said to me, “For two thousand three hundred evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary shall be cleansed.”

15 And it came to pass, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision, that I sought to understand it; and, behold, there was before me another likeness of a man.

16 And I heard a man’s voice on the banks of the Ulai River, which called out and said, “Gabriel, explain the vision to this man.”

17 So he came near where I stood; and when he came, I was terrified and fell on my face. But he said to me, “Understand, son of man, for the vision concerns the time of the end.”

18 While he was talking with me, I fell facedown to the ground, asleep; but he touched me and set me on my feet.

19 Then he said, “See, I will tell you what will happen in the latter time of the wrath, for it will be carried out at the appointed time of the end.

20 The ram that you saw with the two horns represents the kings of Media and Persia.

21 The shaggy goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between its eyes is the first king.

22 The fact that it was broken and four others arose in its place means that four kingdoms will arise from the same nation, but not with its power.

23 But at the end of their reign, when the transgressors have finished, a king will arise, fierce in appearance and skilled in divination.

24 His power will grow strong, but not by his own might; he will destroy marvelously and prosper and do as he pleases; he will destroy the strong and the holy people.

25 By his understanding he will also cause deceit to prosper in his hand; he will exalt himself in his heart, and because of tranquility he will destroy many, and he will rise up against the Prince of princes, but he will be broken without human hands.

26 The vision of the evening and the morning that was told is true; but you, seal up the vision, for it will be fulfilled in many days.

27 I, Daniel, was weak and sick for some days; So I got up and went about the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, and there was no one who could understand it.

O livro do profeta Daniel 08

A visão dum carneiro e dum bode

5 E, estando eu considerando, eis que um bode vinha do ocidente sobre toda a terra, mas sem tocar no chão, e aquele bode tinha uma ponta notável entre os olhos;

14 E ele me disse: Até duas mil e trezentas tardes e manhãs; e o santuário será purificado.

21 Mas o bode peludo é o rei da Grécia; e a ponta grande que tinha entre os olhos é o rei primeiro;

27 E eu, Daniel, enfraqueci, e estive enfermo alguns dias; então levantei-me e tratei do negócio do rei: e espantei-me acerca da visão, e não havia quem a entendesse.

The Book of the Prophet Daniel 7 The Vision of the Four Symbolic Beasts

The Book of the Prophet Daniel 7

The Vision of the Four Symbolic Beasts

1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head while he was lying on his bed. Then he wrote down the dream and related the sum of the matters.

2 Daniel spoke and said: “I was watching in my vision at night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were battling on the great sea.

3 And four great beasts, different from one another, came up out of the sea.

4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched until its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.

5 I continued watching, and behold, a second beast, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And it was told, ‘Arise, devour much flesh.’”

6 After this I looked, and behold, another beast, like a leopard, and on its back it had four wings of a bird. This beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it.

7 After this I looked in the visions of the night, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible and exceedingly strong; it had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet; it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.

8 While I was considering the horns, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots; and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.

9 I looked until thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.

10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.

11 I kept watching because of the sound of the great words coming from the horn. I kept watching until the beast was slain, its body destroyed and given over to be burned with fire.

12 As for the other beasts, their dominion was taken away, but their lives were prolonged for a season.

13 In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was presented before him.

14 He was given dominion, glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

15 As for me, Daniel, my spirit was troubled within me, and the visions of my head terrified me.

16 I approached one of those standing nearby and asked him the truth about all this. And he told me and made known to me the interpretation of the things.

17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings who will arise on the earth.

18 But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever and ever.

19 Then I desired to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with teeth of iron and claws of bronze; which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet.

20 And also of the ten horns that were on its head, and of the other horn that came up, before which three fell, I say of that horn which had eyes, and a mouth which spoke great things, and whose appearance was more steadfast than that of its companions.

21 I watched, and behold, this horn made war with the saints and prevailed against them.

22 Until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

23 Thus he said: “The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all the other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall trample it down, and break it in pieces.

24 And as for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise; and another shall arise after them, who shall be different from the former ones, and shall subdue three kings.”

25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time.

26 But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and destroyed forever.

27 Then the sovereignty, dominion and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of God’s holy people. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will serve and obey him.

28 The vision ended. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly troubled me, and my countenance changed; but I kept these things in my heart.

O livro do profeta Daniel 07 A visão dos quatro animais simbólicos

O livro do profeta Daniel 07

E ele me disse, e fez-me saber a interpretação das coisas.

28 Aqui findou a visão.

1 डेरियस को यह अच्छा लगा कि वह राज्य पर 120 प्रेसिडेंट नियुक्त करे, जो पूरे राज्य पर हों;

The Book of the Prophet Daniel 6 Daniel in the Lions' Den

The Book of the Prophet Daniel 6

Daniel in the Lions' Den

1 It pleased Darius to appoint over the kingdom one hundred and twenty presidents, who should be over the whole kingdom;

2 And over them three princes, of whom Daniel was one, to whom these presidents should give account, so that the king might suffer no loss.

3 Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the princes and presidents, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.

4 Then the princes and presidents sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no occasion nor fault; for he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

5 Then these men said, “We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”

6 Then these princes and presidents went together to the king and said thus to him, “O King Darius, live forever!”

7 All the princes of the kingdom, the prefects and presidents, captains and governors, took counsel to establish a royal edict and to make this commandment firm: that whoever, for the space of thirty days, makes a petition to any god or to any man, and not to you, O king, shall be cast into the lions' den.

8 Now therefore, O king, confirm the edict and sign the writing, so that it may not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be revoked.

9 For this reason King Darius signed this writing and edict.

10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his chamber toward Jerusalem), and three times a day he knelt down, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done aforetime.

11 Then those men went together, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.

12 Then they came forward and said to the king, “Concerning the royal decree, did you not sign the edict that anyone who makes a petition to any god or man for thirty days, except to you, Your Majesty, shall be thrown into the lions’ den?” The king answered and said, “The word stands, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be revoked.”

13 Then they answered and said before the king, “Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, Your Majesty, or to the edict that you signed, but prays three times a day.”

14 When the king heard of the matter, he was greatly distressed, and in his heart he resolved to deliver Daniel; and until sunset he labored to save him.

15 Then those men went together to the king and said to him, “Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians that no edict or ordinance that the king establishes may be changed.”

16 Then the king commanded that Daniel be brought in and thrown into the lions’ den. And the king spoke and said to Daniel, “Your God, whom you continually serve, He will deliver you.”

17 And a stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his signet ring and with the signet rings of his nobles, so that the sentence concerning Daniel might not be changed.

18 Then the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; no music was brought before him, and he could not sleep.

19 And early in the morning he rose and hurried to the lions’ den.

20 And when he came to the den, he called to Daniel in a sorrowful voice; Then the king spoke and said to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Has your God, whom you continually serve, been able to deliver you from the lions?”

21 Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever!

22 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions, so that they have not harmed me, because I was found innocent before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no wrong.”

23 Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be lifted out of the den. So Daniel was lifted out of the den, and no injury was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

24 Then the king commanded, and those men who had accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lions’ den, they, their children, and their wives; and before they reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.

25 Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you.

26 I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and tremble before the God of Daniel. For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will last until the end.

27 He rescues and delivers; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.

28 So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

O livro do profeta Daniel 06

Daniel na cova dos leões

1 E pareceu bem a Dario constituir sobre o reino a cento e vinte presidentes que estivessem sobre todo o reino;

E, falando o rei, disse a Daniel: O teu Deus, a quem tu continuamente serves, ele te livrará.

The Book of the Prophet Daniel 5 The Feast of King Belshazzar. The Mysterious Hand

The Book of the Prophet Daniel 5

The Feast of King Belshazzar. The Mysterious Hand

1 King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his nobles, and he drank wine with them.

2 When Belshazzar had drunk his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them.

3 So they brought in the gold goblets that had been taken from the temple of the house of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines drank from them.

4 As they drank the wine, they praised the gods of gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood and stone.

5 At that very moment, the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plastered wall of the royal palace, opposite the lampstand. And the king saw the part of the hand that was writing.

6 Then the king's countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him: the joints of his knees knocked together.

7 And the king commanded with force that the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers should be brought in: and the king spoke, and said to the wise men of Babylon, “Whoever reads this writing and declares its interpretation to me shall be clothed in purple, and have a chain of gold around his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”

8 Then all the king's wise men came in; but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king its interpretation.

9 Then King Belshazzar was greatly troubled, and his countenance changed; and his nobles were dismayed.

10 The queen, because of the words of the king and of his nobles, entered the banquet hall: and the queen spoke and said, “O king, live forever!” Do not let your thoughts trouble you, nor let your countenance change.

11 There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him; and in the days of your father light, understanding, and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, yes, your father, O king, appointed him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.

12 For an excellent spirit, knowledge, and understanding were found in this Daniel, interpreting dreams, explaining riddles, and solving doubts; the king named him Belteshazzar. Now let Daniel be called, and he will give the interpretation.

13 Then Daniel was brought before the king. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Are you that Daniel, one of the exiles from Judah, whom my father the king brought from Judah?”

14 I have heard about you that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light, understanding, and excellent wisdom are found in you.

15 The wise men and astrologers have just been brought before me to read this writing and make known to me its interpretation; but they could not give the interpretation of these words.

16 But I have heard about you that you can give interpretations and solve doubts. Now, if you can read this writing and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed in purple, and have a gold chain around your neck, and be the third ruler in the kingdom.

17 Then Daniel answered and said before the king, “Keep your gifts for yourself, and give your presents to another; yet I will read the writing to the king and make known to him the interpretation.”

18 O king! God, the Most High, gave Nebuchadnezzar, your father, the kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and majesty.

19 And because of the greatness that he gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him: whom he wished he killed, and whom he wished he gave life; and whom he wished he exalted, and whom he wished he humbled.

20 But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened in pride, he was deposed from his royal throne, and his glory departed from him.

21 And he was driven from among the sons of men, and his heart was made like that of beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys; he was made to eat grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, until he knew that God, the Most High, rules in the kingdoms of men, and appoints over them whom he wills.

22 And you, his son Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, even though you knew all this.

23 You have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. The vessels of his house were brought before you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know. But you did not glorify the God in whose hand is your life and all your ways.

24 Then the hand was sent from him, and this writing was inscribed.

25 This is the writing that was inscribed: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

26 This is the interpretation of the matter: MENE: God has numbered your kingdom and brought it to an end.

27 TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances and found wanting.

28 PERES: Your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.

29 Then Belshazzar commanded that Daniel be clothed in purple, and that a chain of gold be put around his neck, and that a proclamation be made concerning him that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.

30 That very night Belshazzar, king of the Chaldeans, was killed.

31 And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, at the age of sixty-two.

O livro do profeta Daniel 05 O banquete do rei Belsazar. A mão misteriosa

O livro do profeta Daniel 05

O banquete do rei Belsazar. A mão misteriosa

Deus, o Altíssimo, deu a Nabucodonosor, teu pai, o reino, e a grandeza, e a glória, e a magnificência.

10 ये मेरे बिस्तर पर मेरे सिर के दर्शन थे: मैं देख रहा था, और देखो, धरती के बीच में एक पेड़ था, और उसकी ऊँचाई बहुत बड़ी थी;

20 वह पेड़ जो आपने देखा, जो बड़ा होकर मज़बूत हो गया, जिसकी ऊंचाई आसमान तक पहुंची, और जो पूरी धरती को दिखाई देता था;

21 जिसके पत्ते सुंदर थे, और जिसके फल बहुत थे, और जिसमें सभी के लिए खाना था; जिसके नीचे मैदान के जानवर रहते थे, और जिसकी डालियों में हवा के पक्षी बसेरा करते थे;

23 और राजा ने जो देखा, वह यह था कि एक पहरेदार, एक पवित्र आदमी, स्वर्ग से नीचे आ रहा था, और कह रहा था, “पेड़ को काट डालो और उसे खत्म कर दो, लेकिन उसके ठूंठ को उसकी जड़ों समेत ज़मीन में, लोहे और कांसे के पट्टे से बांधकर, मैदान की कोमल घास में रहने दो; वह आसमान की ओस से भीगा रहे, और उसका हिस्सा मैदान के जानवरों के साथ रहे, जब तक कि उस पर सात काल न बीत जाएं;

The Book of the Prophet Daniel 4 The King's Edict. His Dream of a Great Tree: His Folly

The Book of the Prophet Daniel 4

The King's Edict. His Dream of a Great Tree: His Folly

1 King Nebuchadnezzar: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: May peace be multiplied to you.

2 It seemed good to me to make known the signs and wonders that God, the Most High, has done for me.

3 How great are his signs, and how mighty his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion endures from generation to generation.

4 I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at rest in my house, and flourishing in my palace.

5 I had a dream that frightened me; and the thoughts on my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

6 Therefore, I made a decree that all the wise men of Babylon should be brought before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream.

7 Then the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers came in, and I told them the dream; but they could not make known to me its interpretation.

8 But at last Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods, came in before me; and I told him the dream:

9 “Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no secret is too difficult for you; tell me the visions of my dream that I had and their interpretation.”

10 These were the visions of my head upon my bed: I was looking, and behold, a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great;

11 The tree grew and became strong, so that its height reached to heaven; and it was visible to the ends of the earth.

12 Its foliage was beautiful, and its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all; Under it the beasts of the field found shade, and the birds of the air made their nests in its branches, and all flesh was nourished by it.

13 I was seeing this in the visions of my head, on my bed; and behold, a watcher, a holy one, was coming down from heaven.

14 He cried out loudly, and said thus: Cut down the tree, and cut off its branches, shake off its leaves, scatter its fruit; let the beasts flee from under it, and the birds from its branches.

15 But leave the stump with its roots in the ground, bound with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field; let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let its portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth.

16 Let his heart be changed from that of a man, and let a beast’s heart be given to him; and let seven times pass over him:

17 This sentence is by decree of the watchers, and this order by command of the holy ones; so that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdoms of men and gives them to whomever he wishes, and even sets over them the lowest of men.

18 This is what I, King Nebuchadnezzar, saw in a dream. Now you, Belteshazzar, tell me the interpretation. All the wise men of my kingdom could not make known to me the interpretation, but you can, for the spirit of the holy gods is in you.

19 Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished for about an hour, and his thoughts troubled him. So the king spoke and said, “Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation trouble you.” Belteshazzar answered and said, “My lord, may the dream be against those who hate you, and its interpretation against your enemies.

20 The tree that you saw, which grew and became strong, whose height reached to heaven, and which was visible to all the earth;

21 Whose leaves were beautiful, and its fruit abundant, and in which there was food for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and in whose branches the birds of the air had their dwelling;

22 It is you, O king, who have grown and become strong; your greatness has grown and reached to the heavens, and your dominion to the ends of the earth.

23 And as for what the king saw, a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven, and saying, “Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave the stump with its roots in the ground, bound with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field; let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let its portion be with the beasts of the field, until seven times pass over it;

24 This is the interpretation, O king: and this is the decree of the Most High, which will come upon the king, my lord:

25 You will be driven away from among men, and your dwelling will be with the beasts of the field; you will eat grass like oxen, and you will be drenched with the dew of heaven; and seven times will pass by for you, until you acknowledge that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He wills.

26 And as for what was said, that they should leave the stump with the roots of the tree, your kingdom will return to you after you acknowledge that Heaven rules.

27 Therefore, O king, accept my advice, and atone for your sins by doing righteousness, and for your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, so that your prosperity may continue.

28 All these things came upon King Nebuchadnezzar.

29 At the end of twelve months, as he was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon,

30 the king spoke and said, “Is not this the great Babylon that I have built for the royal house by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?”

31 While the word was still in the king's mouth, a voice came from heaven: “King Nebuchadnezzar, this is what is decreed for you: Your royal authority has been taken from you.

32 You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.”

33 At that very moment what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from people and ate grass like the ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like feathers and his nails like birds' claws.

34 But at the end of those days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and glorified him who lives forever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and whose kingdom endures from generation to generation.

35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he does according to his will with the army of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What are you doing?”

36 At that time my understanding returned to me, and my majesty and splendor returned to me, for the dignity of the kingdom; and my captains and my nobles sought me out; and I was restored to my kingdom, and my glory was increased.

37 Now therefore I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and glorify the King of heaven, because all his works are true; and their ways are just, and he can humble those who walk in pride.

O livro do profeta Daniel 04 O edito do rei.

O livro do profeta Daniel 04

O edito do rei.

10 Eram assim as visões da minha cabeça, na minha cama: eu estava olhando, e vi uma árvore no meio da terra cuja altura era grande;

20 A árvore que viste, que cresceu, e se fez forte, cuja altura chegava até ao céu, e que foi vista por toda a terra;

21 Cujas folhas eram formosas, e o seu fruto abundante, e em que para todos havia mantimento; debaixo da qual moravam os animais do campo, e em cujos ramos habitavam as aves do céu;

23 E quanto ao que viu o rei, um vigia, um santo, que descia do céu, e que dizia: Cortai a árvore, e destruí-a, mas o tronco com as suas raízes deixai na terra, e com cadeias de ferro e de bronze, na erva do campo; e seja molhado do orvalho do céu, e a sua porção seja com os animais do campo, até que passem sobre ele sete tempos;
