21 Lembra-te destas coisas ó Jacó, e ó Israel, porquanto és meu servo; eu te formei, meu servo és, ó Israel; não me esquecerei de ti.

23 Cantai alegres, vós, ó céus, porque o Senhor fez isto: exultai vós, as partes mais baixas da terra; vós, montes, retumbai com júbilo; também vós, bosques, e todas as árvores em vós; porque o Senhor remiu a Jacó, e glorificou-se em Israel.

24 Assim diz o Senhor, teu redentor, e que te formou desde o ventre: Eu sou o Senhor que faço todas as coisas, que estendo os céus, e espraio a terra por mim mesmo;

25 Que desfaço os sinais dos inventores de mentiras, e enlouqueço os adivinhos; que faço tornar atrás os sábios, e transtorno a ciência deles;

26 Sou eu quem confirma a palavra do seu servo, e cumpre o conselho dos seus mensageiros; quem diz a Jerusalém: Tu serás habitada, e às cidades de Judá: Sereis reedificadas, e eu levantarei as suas ruínas;

27 Quem diz à profundeza: Seca-te, e eu secarei os teus rios;

28 Quem diz de Ciro: É meu pastor, e cumprirá tudo o que me apraz; dizendo também a Jerusalém: Sê edificada; e ao templo: Funda-te.

1 Now therefore hear, O Jacob, my servant, and you, O Israel, whom I have chosen.

2 Thus says the Lord, who created you, who formed you from the womb, who will help you: Do not fear, O Jacob, my servant, and you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.

4 They will spring up among the grass, like willows by the streams of water.

5 This one will say, 'I am the Lord,' and that one will be called by the name of Jacob; and that one will write with his hand, 'I am the Lord,' and he will be called by the name of Israel. 

6 Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last, and besides me there is no God.

7 And who will call like me, and declare this, and set it in order before me, since I appointed an eternal people? He will declare the things to come, and the things that are yet to come.

8 Do not be dismayed, nor be afraid; have I not since made it known to you, and declared it to you? For you are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock that I know.

9 All the makers of carved images are vanity, and their most desirable things are of no value; and their witnesses themselves see nothing or understand nothing, so that they are confounded.

10 Who forms a god, and casts a carved image, which is of no value? 

11 Behold, all his followers will be ashamed, for the craftsmen themselves are from among men; let them all assemble and stand up; they will be dismayed, and be put to shame together.

12 The smith makes the axe, and works in the coals, and shapes it with hammers, and works it with the strength of his arm; he is hungry, and his strength fails, and he drinks no water, and he faints.

13 The carpenter stretches out the rule, uses the awl, he makes plan with the plank, and marks it out with the compass; and he made his god in the likeness of a man, in the form of a man, to dwell in the house.

14 He took for himself cedars, or a cypress or an oak, and strives against the trees of the forest; he plants an elm, and the rain makes it grow.

15 Then they will serve man for the burning; With it he warms himself and bakes bread. He also makes a god and bows down before it. He makes a carved image and kneels before it.

16 Half of it he burns in the fire, and with the other half he eats meat; he roasts it and is satisfied. He also warms himself and says, "I am warm, I have seen the fire."

17 Then with the rest he makes a god, a carved image; he kneels down before it and bows down and prays to it, saying, "Deliver me, for you are my god."

18 They know nothing, nor do they understand; for their eyes have been covered so that they cannot see, and their hearts so that they cannot understand. 

19 And none of them lays it to heart, neither do they have the knowledge nor the understanding to say, 'I burned half of it in the fire, and baked bread on its coals, and roasted meat on it, and ate it; and should I make the rest an abomination? Should I bow down to what came out of a tree?

20 He feeds on ashes; his heart has deceived him; so that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, 'Is there not a lie in my right hand?'

1 Agora pois, ouve ó Jacó, servo meu, e tu ó Israel, a quem escolhi.

2 Assim diz o Senhor que te criou e te formou desde o ventre, e que te ajudará: Não temas, ó Jacó, servo meu, e tu, Jesurum, a quem escolhi.

3 Porque derramarei água sobre o sedento, e rios sobre a terra seca; derramarei o meu Espírito sobre a tua posteridade, e a minha benção sobre os teus descendentes.

4 E brotarão entre a erva, como salgueiros junto aos ribeiros das águas.

5 Este dirá: Eu sou o Senhor; e aquele se chamará do nome de Jacó; e aquele outro escreverá com a sua mão: Eu sou o Senhor; e por sobrenome tomará o nome de Israel.

1 But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, and who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine.

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you; when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, nor will the flame scorch you.

3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for you.

4 While you were precious in My sight, you were also glorified, and I loved you; therefore I gave men in exchange for you, and peoples in exchange for your life.

5 Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east and gather you from the west.

6 I will say to the north, 'Give,' and to the north, 'Give.' and to the South: Do not hold back; bring my sons from afar, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

7 All who are called by my name, and whom I created for my glory—I formed them, yes, I made them.

8 Bring out the blind people, who have eyes; and the deaf, who have ears.

9 Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the peoples be assembled; who among them can declare this, or make us hear the things of old? Let them bring their witnesses, that they may be justified, and that people may hear and say, 'It is true.'

10 You are my witnesses, declares the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen; that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he, and before me no god was formed, nor will there be any after me.

11 I, even I, am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior. 

12 I have declared, and I have saved, and I have made it heard, and there was no strange god among you; therefore you are my witnesses, declares the Lord; I am God.

13 Even before the day began, I am, and there is no one who can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can stop it?

14 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and I will bring down all of them like fugitives, even the Chaldeans, in the ships in which they boasted.

15 I am the Lord, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.

16 Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

17 Who brings forth the chariot and the horse, the army and the force: they have lain down together, and shall not rise; they are extinguished, like a wick they are snuffed out. 

18 Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.

19 Behold, I will do a new thing, and now it will spring forth; will you not know it? Behold, I will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

20 The beasts of the field will serve me, the dragons and the young ostriches. For I will give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen ones.

21 This people I formed for myself, that they might give me praise.

22 Yet you did not call upon me, O Jacob, but you were weary of me, O Israel.

23 You did not bring me the flock of your burnt offerings, nor honor me with your sacrifices; I did not make you serve with offerings, nor wearied you with incense. 

24 You did not buy me sweet cane with money, nor did you fill me with the fat of your sacrifices, but you made me toil with your sins, and wearied me with your iniquities.

25 I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

26 Remember me; let us plead together; give your reasons, that I may justify you.

27 Your first father sinned, and your interpreters transgressed against me.

28 Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary, and I will make Jacob a cursed thing, and Israel a reproach.

1 Mas agora, assim diz o Senhor que te criou, ó Jacó, e que te formou, ó Israel: Não temas, porque eu te remi: chamei-te pelo teu nome, tu és meu.

4 Enquanto foste precioso aos meus olhos, também foste glorificado, e eu te amei, pelo que dei os homens por ti, e os povos pela tua alma.

5 Não temas, pois porque estou contigo: trarei a tua semente desde o Oriente, e te ajuntarei desde o Ocidente.

6 Direi ao Norte: Dá; e ao Sul: Não retenhas; trazei meus filhos de longe, e minhas filhas das extremidades da terra;

13 Ainda antes que houvesse dia, eu sou; e ninguém há que possa fazer escapar das minhas mãos; operando eu, quem impedirá?

14 Assim diz o Senhor, teu Redentor, o Santo de Israel: Por amor de vós enviei a Babilônia, e a todos farei descer como fugitivos, isto é, os caldeus, nos navios com que se vangloriavam.

15 Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Santo, o Criador de Israel, vosso Rei.

16 Assim diz o Senhor, o que preparou no mar um caminho, e nas águas impetuosas uma vereda;

17 O que trouxe o carro e o cavalo, o exército e a força: eles juntamente se deitaram, e nunca se levantarão; estão extintos, como um pavio se apagaram.

18 Não vos lembreis das coisas passadas, nem considereis as antigas.

19 Eis que farei uma coisa nova, e agora sairá à luz: porventura não a sabereis? Eis que porei um caminho no deserto, e rios no ermo.

20 Os animais do campo me servirão, os dragões e os filhos de avestruz; porque porei águas no deserto, e rios no ermo, para dar de beber ao meu povo, ao meu eleito.

21 Esse povo que formei para mim, para que me desse louvor.

22 Contudo tu não me invocaste a mim, ó Jacó, mas te cansaste de mim, ó Israel.

23 Não me trouxeste o gado miúdo dos teus holocaustos, nem me honraste com os teus sacrifícios; não te fiz servir com ofertas, nem te fatiguei com incenso.

24 Não me compraste por dinheiro cana aromática, nem com a gordura dos teus sacrifícios me encheste, mas me deste trabalho com os teus pecados, e me cansaste com as tuas maldades.

25 Eu, eu mesmo, sou o que apaga as tuas transgressões por amor de mim, e dos teus pecados me não lembro.

26 Procura lembrar-me; entremos em juízo juntamente: apresenta as tuas razões, para que te possa justificar.

27 Teu primeiro pai pecou, e os teus intérpretes prevaricaram contra mim.

28 Pelo que profanarei os maiorais do santuário, e farei de Jacó um anátema, e de Israel um opróbrio.

1 Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice among the nations.

2 He will not cry out, nor exalt himself, nor make his voice heard in the street.

3 He will not break a bruised reed, nor snuff out a smoldering wick; he will indeed bring forth justice.

4 He will not lack nor be dismayed, until he has appointed justice in the earth; and the coastlands will wait for his instruction.

5 Thus says God the Lord, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who formed the earth and everything that comes from it, who gives breath to the people who are on it, and spirit to those who walk in it. 

6 I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will hold your hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant of the people, a light to the Gentiles;

7 To open the eyes of the blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, and those who sit in darkness from the prison house.

8 I am the Lord; that is my name; I will not give my glory to another, nor my praise to carved images.

9 Behold, the former things have passed away, and new things I declare to you; before they come to light I will declare them to you.

10 Sing to the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth: you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it; you islands, and your inhabitants.

11 Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, with the villages that Kedar inhabits; let those who dwell in the rocks sing for joy, and shout from the top of the mountains. 

12 Give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastlands.

13 The Lord will go forth like a mighty man, he will stir up jealousy like a man of war; he will cry out, and make a great noise, and will subdue his enemies.

14 For a long time I have kept silent, I have been still, and have restrained myself; but now I will cry out like a woman in labor, and I will lay waste and devour them together.

15 I will make the mountains and hills desolate, and I will dry up all their grass; I will turn the rivers into islands, and I will dry up the pools of water.

16 I will lead the blind by a way they have not known; I will make them walk in paths they have not known; I will make darkness light before them, and I will make crooked things straight. These things I will do for them, and I will never forsake them. 

17 Those who trust in carved images will be turned back and put to shame, those who say to molten images, "You are our gods."

18 Hear, you deaf! And you blind, look, that you may see.

19 Who is blind but my servant, or deaf like my messenger whom I send? And who is blind like one who is rewarded, or blind like the servant of the Lord?

20 You see many things, but you do not heed them; your ears are open, but you hear nothing.

21 The Lord was pleased with him for his righteousness' sake; he magnified him by the law and made him honorable.

22 But this is a people robbed and plundered; they are all trapped in caves and hidden in prison houses; they are a prey, with no one to rescue them; they are plunder, with no one to give them back.

23 Who among you will listen to this? Let him consider and hear what will happen next?

24 Who gave Jacob as a plunder, and Israel to the plunderers? Was it not the Lord, against whom they sinned, and in whose ways they would not walk, not obeying his law?

25 Therefore he poured out on them the fury of his anger, and the strength of war; he set a flame on them all around, but they did not understand; he burned them, but they did not set their hearts on it.

2 Não clamará não se exaltará, nem fará ouvir a sua voz na praça.

3 A cana trilhada não quebrará, nem apagará o pavio que fumega: em verdade produzirá o juízo;

4 Não faltará nem será quebrantado, até que ponha na terra o juízo: e as ilhas aguardarão a sua doutrina.

5 Assim diz Deus, o Senhor, que criou os céus, e os estendeu, e formou a terra, e a tudo quanto produz: que dá a respiração ao povo que nela está, e o espírito aos que andam nela.

6 Eu o Senhor te chamei em justiça, e te tomarei pela mão, e te guardarei, e te darei por concerto do povo, e para luz dos gentios;

14 Por muito tempo me calei, estive em silêncio, e me contive; mas agora darei gritos como a que está de parto, e a todos assolarei e juntamente devorarei.

15 Os montes e outeiros tornarei em deserto, e toda a sua erva farei secar, e tornarei os rios em ilhas e as lagoas secarei.

22 Mas este é um povo roubado e saqueado: todos estão enlaçados em cavernas, e escondidos nas casas dos cárceres: são postos por presa, e ninguém há que os livre; por despojo, e ninguém diz: Restitui.

23 Quem há entre vós que ouça isto? Que atenta e ouça o que há de ser depois?

24 Quem entregou Jacó por despojo, e Israel aos roubadores? Porventura não foi o Senhor, aquele contra quem pecaram, e nos caminhos do qual não queriam andar, não dando ouvidos à sua lei?

25 Pelo que derramou sobre eles a indignação da sua ira, e a força da guerra, e lhes pôs labaredas em redor, mas nisso não atentaram; e os queimou, mas não puseram nisso o coração.

1 Be silent before me, O islands, and let the peoples renew their strength; let them draw near, and then speak; let us draw near together to judgment.

2 Who raised up the righteous one from the east? And called him to his feet? Who gave the nations before him, and made him ruler over kings? He gave them up like dust to his sword, and like chaff driven by the wind to his bow.

3 He pursued them, and passed by in peace, along a path where his feet had never walked.

4 Who has wrought and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord, am the first, and with the last I myself.

5 The islands saw it, and were afraid; the ends of the earth trembled; they drew near, and came. 

6 They helped one another, and said to his fellow, "Be strong."

7 The craftsman encouraged the goldsmith, and the one who smooths with the hammer encouraged the one who beats the grain, saying of the soldered thing, "It is good." Then he fastened it with nails so that it will not move.

8 But you, O Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend?

9 You whom I took from the ends of the earth and called from among its most excellent, and said to you, "You are my servant; I have chosen you and have not rejected you."

10 Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

11 Behold, all who are incensed against you will be ashamed and confounded; They will become nothing, and those who strive with you will perish.

12 You will seek them, but you will not find them; those who strive with you will become nothing, and those who war with you will be like nothing.

13 For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand and say to you: Do not fear, for I will help you.

14 Do not fear, O worm Jacob, little people of Israel; I will help you, declares the Lord, and your redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

15 Behold, I have made for you a new threshing floor with sharp teeth; you will thresh the mountains and grind them to powder, and the hills you will make like chaff.

16 You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away, and the storm will scatter them; but you will rejoice in the Lord and glory in the Holy One of Israel. 

17 The poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue fails with thirst. But I, the Lord, will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

18 I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness pools of water, and the dry land springs of water.

19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the sita tree, the myrtle, and the olive tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, the elm, and the poplar together:

20 That they may see and know, and consider and understand together, that the hand of the Lord has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it. 

21 Present your case, says the Lord; bring your strong arguments, says the King of Jacob.

22 Bring forth and tell us the things that must happen: declare to us the former things, that we may consider them and know their outcome; or cause us to hear the things that are to come.

23 Declare to us the things that are to come, that we may know that you are gods: do good, or do evil, that we may be astonished and see it together.

24 Behold, you are less than nothing, and your work is less than nothing; an abomination is he who chooses you.

25 I will raise up one from the north, and he will come; from the rising of the sun he will call on my name; and he will come upon rulers as upon clay, and as a potter treads clay, so he will tread them down. 

26 Who has declared this from the beginning, that we may know, or at another time, that we may say, 'It is righteous'? But there is no one to declare, no one to declare, no one to hear your words.

27 I will first say to Zion, 'Behold, they are there!' and to Jerusalem I will give a herald of good news.

28 And when I looked, there was no one; not even among these counselors was there anyone to ask or to answer me a word.

29 Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing; their molten images are wind and nothing.

1 Calai-vos perante mim, ó ilhas, e os povos renovem as forças: cheguem-se, e então falem: cheguemo-nos juntos a juízo.

2 Quem suscitou do Oriente o justo? E o chamou para o pé de si? Quem deu as nações à sua face e o fez dominar sobre reis? Ele os entregou à sua espada como o pó, e como pragana arrebatada do vento ao seu arco.

3 Ele persegue-os, e passa em paz, por uma vereda em que com os seus pés nunca tinha caminhado.

4 Quem operou e fez isto, chamando as gerações desde o princípio? Eu o Senhor, o primeiro, e com os últimos eu mesmo.

5 As ilhas o viram, e temeram: os fins da terra tremeram: aproximaram-se, e vieram.

6 Um ao outro ajudou, e ao seu companheiro disse: Esforça-te.

7 E o artífice animou o ourives, e o que alisa com o martelo ao que bate na safra, dizendo da coisa soldada: Boa é. Então com pregos o firma, para que não venha a mover-se.

8 Mas tu, ó Israel, servo meu, tu Jacó, a quem elegi, semente de Abraão, meu amigo?

9 Tu a quem tomei desde os fins da terra e te chamei dentre os seus mais excelentes, e te disse: Tu és o meu servo, a ti te escolhi e não te rejeitei.

10 Não temas, porque eu sou contigo; não te assombres, porque eu sou teu Deus: eu te esforço, e te ajudo, e te sustento com a destra da minha justiça.

11 Eis que envergonhados e confundidos serão todos os que se irritarem contra ti; tornar-se-ão nada, e os que contenderem contigo perecerão.

12 Busca-los-ás, mas não os acharás; e os que pelejarem contigo tornar-se-ão nada, e como coisa que não é nada os que guerrearem contigo.

13 Porque eu, o Senhor teu Deus, te tomo pela tua mão direita, e te digo: Não temas, que eu te ajudo.

14 Não temas, ó bichinho de Jacó, povozinho de Israel; eu te ajudo, diz o Senhor, e o teu redentor é o Santo de Israel.

15 Eis que te preparei trilho novo, que tem dentes agudos; os montes trilharás e moerás; e os outeiros tornará como a folhelho.

16 Tu os padejarás e o vento os levará, e o tufão os espalhará; mas tu te alegrarás no Senhor e te gloriarás no Santo de Israel.

17 Os aflitos e necessitados buscam águas, e não as há, e a sua língua se seca de sede: mas eu o Senhor os ouvirei, eu o Deus de Israel os não desampararei.

18 Abrirei rios em lugares altos, e fontes no meio dos vales: tornarei o deserto em tanques de águas, e a terra seca em mananciais.

19 Plantarei no deserto o cedro, a árvore de sita, e a murta, e a oliveira: conjuntamente porei no ermo a faia, o olmeiro, e o álamo:

20 Para que todos vejam, e saibam, e considerem, e juntamente entendam que a mão do Senhor fez isto, e o Santo de Israel o criou.

21 Apresentai a vossa demanda, diz o Senhor: trazei as vossas firmes razões, diz o Rei de Jacó.

22 Tragam e anunciem-nos as coisas que hão de acontecer: anunciai-nos as coisas passadas, para que atentemos para elas, e saibamos o fim delas; ou fazei-nos ouvir as coisas futuras.

23 Anunciai-nos as coisas que ainda hão de vir, para que saibamos que sois deuses: fazei bem, ou fazei mal, para que nos assombremos, e juntamente o vejamos.

24 Eis que sois menos do que nada e a vossa obra é menos do que nada: abominação é quem vos escolhe.

25 Suscito a um do norte, e ele há de vir; desde o nascimento do sol invocará o meu nome; e virá sobre os magistrados, como sobre o lodo, e, como o oleiro pisa o barro, assim ele os pisará.

26 Quem anunciou isto desde o princípio, para que o possamos saber, ou outro tempo, para que digamos: Justo é? Mas não há quem anuncie, nem tampouco quem manifeste, nem tampouco quem ouça as vossas palavras.

27 Eu sou o primeiro direi a Sião: Eis que ali estão: e a Jerusalém darei um anunciador de boas novas.

28 E quando olhei, ninguém havia; nem mesmo entre estes conselheiros algum havia a quem perguntasse ou que me respondesse palavra.

29 Eis que todos são vaidades; as suas obras não são coisa alguma; as suas imagens de fundição são vento e nada.

2 यरूशलेम से प्रेमपूर्वक बात करो, और उससे पुकारो, कि उसकी दुष्टता समाप्त हो गई है, उसका अधर्म क्षमा कर दिया गया है, और उसने अपने सभी पापों का दूना दण्ड प्रभु के हाथ से पाया है।

16 लबानोन आग के लिए पर्याप्त नहीं है, न ही उसके जानवर होमबलि के लिए पर्याप्त हैं।

22 वह पृथ्वी के घेरे पर विराजमान है, और उसके निवासी टिड्डियों के समान हैं; वह आकाश को परदे की तरह फैलाता है और रहने के लिए तम्बू की तरह तानता है।

23 वह हाकिमों को नष्ट कर देता है और पृथ्वी के न्यायियों को निष्फल कर देता है।

25 तो फिर तुम मुझे किससे तुलना करोगे, कि मैं उसके जैसा हो जाऊँ? पवित्र परमेश्वर कहता है।

26 अपनी आँखें ऊपर उठाओ और देखो कि किसने इन प्राणियों को बनाया है, कौन उनकी सेना को गिनकर लाता है, कौन उन सब को उनके नाम लेकर बुलाता है; उसकी महान शक्ति और पराक्रम के कारण, उनमें से एक भी बिना गिरे नहीं रहता।

1 Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.

2 Speak kindly to Jerusalem, and cry to her, that her wickedness is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, and that she has received from the Lord's hand double for all her sins.

3 A voice of one crying in the wilderness, "Prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God."

4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places made plain.

5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh together shall see that the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.

6 A voice saying, "Cry!" and one said, "What shall I cry?" All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flowers of the field.

7 The grass withers, and the flowers fade, when the breath of the Lord blows upon them. Surely the people are grass.

8 The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.

9 You, Zion, who brings good news, go up to a high mountain. You, Jerusalem, who brings good news, lift up your voice with a loud voice; lift it up, do not be afraid, and say to the cities of Judah, 'Behold, your God!'

10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with a mighty man, with his arm ruling; behold, his reward is with him, and his wages before him.

11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms and carry them in his bosom; he will gently lead those who are nursing. 

12 Who has measured the waters in his hollow, and marked off the heavens with a span, and gathered up the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains and the hills in a balance?

13 Who has guided the Spirit of the Lord? And what counselor has taught him?

14 With whom has he taken counsel, to give him understanding, to show him the paths of justice, to teach him wisdom, and to make known to him the way of knowledge?

15 Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket to him, and as the small dust on the scales; behold, he tosses the isles about as a very small thing.

16 Lebanon is not enough for fire, nor are its animals sufficient for burnt offerings.

17 All the nations are as nothing before him; he considers them less than nothing and as worthless.

18 To whom then will you compare God? Or with what will you compare him? 

19 The craftsman engraves the image, and the goldsmith overlays it with gold, and casts silver chains for it.

20 The poor, who cannot offer much, chooses wood that will not corrupt; a wise craftsman seeks to carve an image that cannot be moved.

21 Do you not know? Do you not hear? Has this not been made known to you from the beginning? Have you not considered the foundations of the earth?

22 He is the one who sits upon the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; he stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

23 He brings princes to nothing and makes the judges of the earth of no avail.

24 They are not planted or sown, nor does their cut-down stump take root in the earth; one blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff. 

25 To whom then will you liken me, that I may be like him? says the Holy One.

26 Lift up your eyes on high, and see who created these things, who brings forth their host by number, who calls them all by their names; by the greatness of his power, and by the might of his might, not one is missing.

27 Why then do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, 'My way is hidden from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over by my God'?

28 Have you not known? Have you not heard that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary? There is no searching of his understanding.

29 He gives strength to the weary, and to him who has no might he increases strength.

30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall surely fall. 

31 But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint.

1 Consolai, consolai o meu povo, diz o vosso Deus.

2 Falai benignamente a Jerusalém, e bradai-lhe que já a sua malícia é acabada, que a sua iniqüidade está expiada e que já recebeu em dobro da mão do Senhor, por todos os seus pecados.

3 Voz do que clama no deserto: Preparai o caminho do Senhor: endireitai no ermo vereda a nosso Deus.

4 Todo o vale será exaltado, e todo o monte e todo o outeiro serão abatidos: e o que está torcido se endireitará, e o que é áspero se aplainará.

5 E a glória do Senhor se manifestará, e toda a carne juntamente verá que foi a boca do Senhor que isto disse.

6 Voz que diz: Clama; e alguém disse: Que hei de clamar? Toda a carne é erva e toda a sua beleza como as flores do campo.

7 Seca-se a erva, e caem as flores, soprando nelas o hálito do Senhor. Na verdade o povo é erva.

8 Seca-se a erva, e caem as flores, mas a palavra de nosso Deus subsiste eternamente.

9 Tu, anunciador de boas-novas a Sião, sobe tu a um monte alto. Tu, anunciador de boas novas a Jerusalém, levanta a tua voz fortemente; levanta-a, não temas, e dize às cidades de Judá: Eis aqui está o vosso Deus.

10 Eis que o Senhor Jeová virá como o forte, e o seu braço dominará: eis que o seu galardão vem com ele, e o seu salário diante da sua face.

11 Como pastor apascentará o seu rebanho; entre os seus braços recolherá os cordeirinhos, e os levará no seu regaço: as que amamentam, ele guiará mansamente.

12 Quem mediu com o seu punho as águas, e tomou a medida dos céus aos palmos, e recolheu numa medida o pó da terra e pesou os montes e os outeiros em balanças?

13 Quem guiou o Espírito do Senhor? E que conselheiro o ensinou?

14 Com quem tomou conselho, para que lhe desse entendimento, e lhe mostrasse as veredas do juízo e lhe ensinasse sabedoria, e lhe fizesse notório o caminho da ciência?

15 Eis que as nações são consideradas por ele como a gota de um balde, e como o pó miúdo das balanças: eis que lança por aí as ilhas como a uma coisa pequeníssima.

16 Nem todo o Líbano basta para o fogo, nem os seus animais bastam para holocaustos.

17 Todas as nações são como nada perante ele; ele considera-as menos do que nada e como uma coisa vã.

18 A quem pois fareis semelhante a Deus: ou com que o comparareis?

19 O artífice grava a imagem, e o ourives a cobre de ouro, e cadeias de prata funde para ela.

20 O empobrecido, que não pode oferecer tanto, escolhe madeira que não se corrompe: artífice sábio busca, para gravar uma imagem que se não pode mover.

21 Porventura não sabeis? Porventura não ouvis? Ou desde o princípio se vos não notificou isto mesmo? Ou não atentastes para os fundamentos da terra?

22 Ele é o que está assentado sobre o globo da terra, cujos moradores são para ele como gafanhotos: ele é o que estende os céus como cortina, e os desenrola como tenda para neles habitar:

23 O que faz voltar ao nada os príncipes e torna coisa vã os juízes da terra.

24 E não se plantam, nem se semeiam, nem se arraiga na terra o seu tronco cortado; sopra sobre eles e secam-se, e um tufão como pragana os levará.

25 A quem pois me fareis semelhante, para que lhe seja semelhante? Diz o Santo.

26 Levantai ao alto os vossos olhos, e vede quem criou estas coisas, quem produz por conta o seu exército, quem a todas chama pelos seus nomes; por causa da grandeza das suas forças, e pela fortaleza do seu poder, nenhuma faltará.

27 Por que pois dizes, ó Jacó, e tu falas, ó Israel: O meu caminho está encoberto ao Senhor, e o meu juízo passa de largo pelo meu Deus?

28 Não sabes, não ouviste que o eterno Deus, o Senhor, o Criador dos fins da terra, nem se cansa nem se fatiga? Não há esquadrinhação do seu entendimento.

29 Dá esforço ao cansado, e multiplica as forças ao que não tem nenhum vigor.

30 Os jovens se cansarão e se fatigarão, e os mancebos certamente cairão.

31 Mas ao que esperam no Senhor renovarão as suas forças, subirão com asas como águias: correrão, e não se cansarão; caminharão, e não se fatigarão.

1 उस समय, बेबीलोन के राजा बलदाम के पुत्र मरोदक-बलदान ने हिजकिय्याह के पास पत्र और एक भेंट भेजी, क्योंकि उसने सुना था कि वह बीमार था और अब ठीक हो रहा है।

2 हिजकिय्याह उनके साथ आनन्दित हुआ और उन्हें अपना भण्डार, चाँदी, सोना, मसाले, बहुमूल्य तेल, अपना पूरा शस्त्रागार और अपने भण्डार में जो कुछ भी था, दिखाया। उसके घर में या उसके पूरे राज्य में ऐसी कोई वस्तु नहीं थी जो हिजकिय्याह ने उन्हें न दिखाई हो।

1 At that time Merodach-Baladan, son of Baladam, king of Babylon, sent letters and a gift to Hezekiah, because he had heard that he had been sick and was recovering.

2 Hezekiah rejoiced with them and showed them his treasure house, the silver, the gold, the spices, the precious ointments, his entire armory, and everything found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house or in all his domain that Hezekiah did not show them.

3 Then the prophet Isaiah came to King Hezekiah and said to him, "What did these men say, and where did they come from?" Hezekiah said, "They came to me from a far country, from Babylon." 

4 And he said, "What have they seen in your house?" And Hezekiah said, "They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them."

5 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Hear the word of the Lord of hosts:

6 Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have laid up in store to this day, will be carried to Babylon; nothing will be left, says the Lord.

7 And some of your sons, whom you shall father, will be taken away, and they will be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon."

8 Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, "The word of the Lord that you have spoken is good." And he said, "For there will be peace and truth in my days."

1 Naquele tempo enviou Merodaque-Baladã, filho de Baladão, rei da Babilônia, cartas e um presente a Ezequias, porque tinha ouvido dizer que havia estado doente e que já tinha convalescido.

2 E Ezequias se alegrou com eles, e lhes mostrou a casa do seu tesouro, a prata, e o ouro, e as especiarias, e os melhores ungüentos, e toda a sua casa de armas, e tudo quanto se achava nos seus tesouros: coisa nenhuma houve, nem em sua casa, nem em todo o seu domínio, que Ezequias lhes não mostrasse.

3 Então o profeta Isaías veio ao rei Ezequias, e lhe disse: Que foi que aqueles homens disseram, e donde vieram a ti? E disse Ezequias: Duma terra remota vieram a mim, de Babilônia.

4 E disse ele: Que foi que viram em tua casa? E disse Ezequias: Viram tudo quanto há em minha casa; coisa nenhuma há nos meus tesouros que eu deixasse de lhes mostrar.

5 Então disse Isaías a Ezequias: Ouve a palavra do Senhor dos Exércitos:

6 Eis que virão dias em que tudo quanto houver em tua casa, com o que entesouraram teus pais até ao dia de hoje, será levado para Babilônia: não ficará coisa alguma, disse o Senhor.

7 E dos teus filhos, que procederem de ti, e tu gerares, tomarão, para que sejam eunucos no palácio do rei de Babilônia.

8 Então disse Ezequias a Isaías: Boa é a palavra do Senhor que disseste. Disse mais: Porque haverá paz e verdade em meus dias.

हिजकिय्याह की बीमारी और उसकी अद्भुत चिकित्सा

1 उन्हीं दिनों हिजकिय्याह इतना बीमार हो गया कि उसकी मृत्यु हो गई। और आमोस का पुत्र, भविष्यवक्ता यशायाह उसके पास आया और उससे कहा, "यहोवा यों कहता है: अपने घराने के विषय में जो आज्ञा देनी हो, वह दे, क्योंकि तू मरेगा, और जीवित न रहेगा।"

2 तब हिजकिय्याह ने दीवार की ओर मुँह करके यहोवा से प्रार्थना की।

3 उसने कहा, "हे यहोवा, मैं तुझसे प्रार्थना करता हूँ, स्मरण कर कि मैं कैसे सच्चाई और खरे मन से तेरे सम्मुख चलता आया हूँ, और वही करता आया हूँ जो तेरी दृष्टि में ठीक है।" और हिजकिय्याह फूट-फूट कर रोया।

4 तब यहोवा का यह वचन यशायाह के पास पहुँचा:

5 जाकर हिजकिय्याह से कह, "तेरे पिता दाऊद का परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है: मैंने तेरी प्रार्थना सुनी है और तेरे आँसू देखे हैं; देख, मैं तेरी आयु पन्द्रह वर्ष और बढ़ा दूँगा।" 

6 और मैं तुझे और इस नगर को अश्शूर के राजा के हाथ से छुड़ाऊँगा; मैं इस नगर की रक्षा करूँगा।

7 और यह यहोवा की ओर से तुम्हारे लिए एक चिन्ह होगा कि यहोवा अपने कहे हुए इस वचन को पूरा करेगा:

8 देखो, मैं आहाज की घड़ी के अंशों से सूर्य के साथ गुजरने वाले अंशों की छाया को दस अंश पीछे कर दूँगा। इस प्रकार सूर्य अपने पिछले अंशों से दस अंश पीछे चला गया।

9 यहूदा के राजा हिजकिय्याह के लेख, जब वह बीमार था और अपनी बीमारी से ठीक हो गया था।

10 मैंने कहा, "अपने दिनों की शांति में मैं अधोलोक के द्वार पर जाऊँगा; मैं अपने शेष वर्षों से वंचित हो चुका हूँ।"

11 मैंने कहा, "मैं अब जीवितों की भूमि में यहोवा को फिर कभी नहीं देखूँगा; मैं संसार के निवासियों के साथ मनुष्य को कभी नहीं देखूँगा।" 

12 मेरा जीवन चला गया है, और यह चरवाहे की झोपड़ी की तरह मुझसे दूर हो गया है। मैंने अपना जीवन बुनकर की तरह काट दिया है; तुम मुझे करघे की तरह काट दोगे; सुबह से शाम तक तुम मुझे नष्ट कर दोगे।

13 मैं भोर तक चुपचाप पड़ा रहा; तूने सिंह की नाईं मेरी सब हड्डियाँ तोड़ डाली हैं; भोर से सांझ तक तू मुझे नाश करेगा।

14 मैं सारस या अबाबील की नाईं बकबक करता रहा, और कबूतर की नाईं विलाप करता रहा। मैंने अपनी आँखें ऊपर उठाईं: हे यहोवा, मैं संकट में हूँ! मेरा ज़मानतदार बन।

15 मैं क्या कहूँ? जैसा तूने वादा किया था, वैसा ही तूने किया है: इसी तरह मैं अपने सारे वर्ष अपनी आत्मा की कड़वाहट के साथ बिताऊँगा।

16 हे यहोवा, इन्हीं बातों से मनुष्य जीवित रहता है, और इन्हीं सब बातों में मेरी आत्मा का जीवन है; इसलिए, मुझे चंगा कर और मुझे जिला।

17 देख, अपनी शान्ति के लिये मैं बड़ी कड़वाहट में रहा हूँ; परन्तु तूने मेरे प्राण को ऐसे प्रेम से गले लगाया है कि वह नाश के गड़हे में नहीं गिरा, क्योंकि तूने मेरे सब पापों को अपनी पीठ के पीछे फेंक दिया है।

18 क्योंकि अधोलोक तेरी स्तुति नहीं कर सकता, मृत्यु तेरी महिमा नहीं कर सकती; जो लोग गड़हे में उतरते हैं, वे तेरी सच्चाई की आशा नहीं रखेंगे।

19 जीवित, जीवित लोग तेरी स्तुति करेंगे, जैसा मैं आज करता हूँ; एक पिता अपने बच्चों को तुम्हारा सत्य बताएगा।

20 यहोवा मुझे बचाने आया है; इसलिए हम अपने वाद्य बजाकर जीवन भर यहोवा के भवन में उसकी स्तुति करेंगे।

21 यशायाह ने कहा, "अंजीर की एक टिकिया लेकर घाव पर मलहम लगाओ, और वह ठीक हो जाएगा।"

22 हिजकिय्याह ने पूछा, "इसका क्या चिन्ह होगा कि मैं यहोवा के भवन में जाऊँगा?"
