Leviticus 21
Laws about priests
And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, The priest shall not be defiled because of a dead man among his people,
Except for his closest relation unto him: for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,
And for his virgin sister, who is come to him, who hath not yet had a husband: for her shall he defile himself.
He shall not be defiled as a prince among his people to be profaned.
They shall not make baldness upon their heads, and they shall not shave the corners of his beard, nor strike at his flesh.
And they shall be their God, and they shall not profane the name of their God: for they offer the burnt offerings of Jehovah, the bread of their God: therefore they shall be holy.
They shall not take a prostitute or an infamous wife, nor take a woman put away from her husband; For his God is holy.
Therefore thou shalt sanctify it, because it offereth the bread of thy God: it shall be holy unto thee: for I, the Lord that sanctifieth you, am holy.
And when the daughter of a priest prostitutes herself, she defiles her father; With fire shall be burned.
And the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the oil of the anointing was shed, and which is sacred to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;
And there shall be no dead body, neither for his father's sake, nor for his mother's, shall he defile himself;
Neither shall he go out from the sanctuary, lest he profane the sanctuary of his God: for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.
And he shall take a wife in her virginity.
A widow or a reprobate, or a dishonor, or a prostitute, she shall not take, but a virgin of her people shall she take to wife,
And he shall not profane his seed among his people; For I am the Lord who sanctifies.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Speak to Aaron, saying, Let no one of your seed in their generations, in whom there is any want, come near to offer the bread of their God.
For no man in whom is any deformity shall come: as a blind man, or a lame man, or a flat nose, or a limb too long,
Or a man having his foot broken or his hand broken,
Or corcovado, or dwarf, or that has a belly in the eye, or mange, or impigens, or that has a broken testicle.
No man of the seed of Aaron the priest, in whom is any deformity, shall come near to offer the burnt offerings of the LORD: there is lack in him; He shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.
The bread of your God, from the sanctuaries of holiness and holy things, may eat.
But the veil shall not come in, nor come to the altar, because there is no in it, lest it profane my sanctuaries; For I am the Lord who sanctifies them.
And Moses spake unto Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel.
